This thread's for all of the X-Men comics and spin-offs (X-Force, X-Factor, New Mutants etc.), whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate X-Men, X-Men 2099, X-Men "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- X-Men 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Wolverine, Deadpool, Ms. Marvel and Cable.
- Characters and comics that originated in X-Men and its related books but are no longer connected to the franchise are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their X-Men related stories here.
Discussions that are only about X-Men adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules - tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).
I have to say that the X Men franchise has been going on for decades. Maybe not as many as the Superman franchise has, but it still has quite a number to it.
One thing I am certain of is that the franchise seems to be subverting Status Quo Is God in recent years. Magneto and Professor Xavier seem to be fading into the background, with Cyclops and Wolverine taking their places. A lot of villains associated to the X-Men have been killed off and have actually stayed dead so far.
All this gives me the general impression that the franchise is trying to reinvent itself. Do you think that's what's going on here?

It says a lot about the poor woman that having her leg hacked off by a genocidal cyborg is on the lower end of bad things that've happened to her...
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."yeah there's karma, bobby, hank and now peter i guess

Funny you should mention that, because Karma's the school librarian in my X-Men Re-Evolved series, and I didn't even know she had a degree! Serendipity at work. (And she's also starting to get involved in a love triangle with Laurie and Strong Guy. Honestly, it just kind of worked out that way.)

Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundI suppose it's never been confirmed that she actually graduated. But she did work as the school librarian in the 2000s New Mutants (the run that became New X-Men). So I'd like to think she probably graduated.
Aside: I have a degree as a Library Technician. I'm sure the shared career choice has absolutely nothing to do with why I love Karma.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.I wonder what would be a good Colossus solo series? One where he goes back to Russia to find himself or something like that?
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!That might make for a good one-shot, but I really doubt Colossus could last on his own much longer than that. I like Peter, but he's in no way a character that can stand on his own; most of the X-Men aren't. Maybe if he had a lengthy mini with Magick, though...
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundI'm sure they could find something out to make that work. Maybe some kind of dramatic change in his origins and personality.
Like what? Have Mikhail turn evil while still living on the farm, instead of after he became a cosmonaut? Because Colossus's origin is "Russian farmboy who felt he was needed elsewhere", that's it.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatMake him an alien cyborg, um, communist. And farmboy. And he was abused by his adopted parents and village and killed them all.

Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundIt could be like Death Note, except with a space ninja murderbeast instead of a high school student.
Or no, keep the high school, it'd be good as a contrast, a superpowered killer that tries to make friends in school.

The problem with Colossus is that he's such a passive character. His greatest ambition is to sit on a hill and paint. It's nearly impossible to make a compelling story out of someone like that. He's strictly a supporting character, backing up his friends.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.I definitely would like to see Colossus have a mini series with Magik, that's if they are willing to do that. It's kind of sad that none of the other X-Men characters, except Wolverine can really hold up their own series.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!He did have a miniseries, which revealed he really was descended from that Rasputin.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."
That "Bloodlines" storyline? Eh, I don't know how I really feel about Colossus actually being related to the real Rasputin.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!So, does anyone actually think there's a chance Magneto won't be an out-and-out villain again? He hasn't gone worse than Anti-Villain in ten years now, fifteen if you don't count Xorn.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."I think he's likely to go full villain again. I still like my idea of Magneto killing Scott, replacing him with Mystique, and taking control of the revolution in order to push it forward. I think it would be amazing.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics. He's gonna be an Anti-Hero, like Batman.
Oh, so you'd be okay with that happening? Him going villain again?
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Except instead of driving a cool car, he'll put it through someone's head.
I'd be fine with him being an antagonist again. He's always been a vicious terrorist bastard. He's never really progressed beyond that - he's simply gotten tired now and then and temporarily retired. But at the end of the day, he's willing to do whatever he feels is necessary to protect the mutant race, and what he feels is necessary goes very, very far. He has no compunctions about cold-blooded murder, if he thinks the victim is a threat to mutants.
So if he thinks killing Scott and taking over his revolution would be in the best interests of the mutant race, he'd do it, and he wouldn't feel any remorse.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics. So I took advantage of Marvel's "One month of Unlimted for 75 cents!" promotion a few days ago and have been reading as much X-Men as I can, and I have a question: How did Stryker come back to life between New X-Men and Second Coming? And wouldn't coming back to life have messed with his religious beliefs?
So back on the subject of Colossus solo's he should get a mini that serves as the origin story for that bitchin mustache that future him had in UXM.

"War without fire is like sausages without mustard." - Jean Juvénal des UrsinsTechno-organic virus, courtesy of Bastion.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."And not only that, but he was also under Bastion's control, sort of. He still kept his own personality, but at the same time, he still had to obey Bastion's orders. Even if he tried to kill himself to end his blasphemous existence, (which is unfortunately not in the actual SC,) he would not be able to do so. Of course, some of the other people Bastion revives, such as Cameron Hodge, don't really have a problem with that.

She has had a pretty shitty life. Forced to flee her home country, raped (and forced to watch her mother literally raped to death), taken over by the Shadow King and ending up morbidly obese, having to survive for months in an Asgardian desert to lose that weight, spent years in the employ of her crime lord uncle while she searched for her younger siblings. Luckily, that was more or less the end of her major suffering, aside from losing a leg.
I don't think Karma could support a solo title for long. She's not a character many people are all that interested in. She spent only a little bit of time as a New Mutant in the '80s, she was basically absent for the entire '90s, and she's been largely a background character for the past 15 years. Even Liu didn't really do that much with the character, aside from that one arc with her half-sister. After that arc, Karma was just sorta around. She should totally be given a major role in a title. It still annoys me that the character who graduated from university with a degree in Library Science is completely absent from the school-oriented X-Men title. She is one of, like, four people in the entire school who's actually pursued higher education.
