I have no idea what sword shoots rainbows so I don't get the reference at all.
As for how it's said I figure it would be "Hey-a-thur-N", I was mainly trying to make it a fantasy version of Heather but Heather-N sounded too close.
So wait does that mean centaur are like lycans?

Rarely active, try DA/Tumblr Avatar by pippanaffie.deviantart.comWhy not just say Heather? Names don't have to be freaky just because it's a fantasy setting.

Mura: -flips the bird to veterinary science with one hand and Euclidean geometry with the other-Aerith and Bob just sayin.
Rarely active, try DA/Tumblr Avatar by pippanaffie.deviantart.comThat trope is a little ill-informed, considering there are people named Bill Murphy and Aisling MacClellan in the same country here on Earth. . .
Mura: -flips the bird to veterinary science with one hand and Euclidean geometry with the other-Sorry I don't see it.
Rarely active, try DA/Tumblr Avatar by pippanaffie.deviantart.comHow many named characters do we have and what continents are they from?
Mura: -flips the bird to veterinary science with one hand and Euclidean geometry with the other-Wait, there's an actual sword in Celtic Myth that shoots rainbows!?
OK, I DEFINITELY need to read that stuff!
As for the Beast folk... too tired to think right now, comments tomorrow.
Less care bear, more laser cannon.
Also, we have exactly one nondeific character with a real name, and that's Hrod. He comes from a different region than most.
Not a hard and fast rule, but I encourage everyone to use names that aren't distorted for the sake of distortion. It comes off as trying too hard.

Mura: -flips the bird to veterinary science with one hand and Euclidean geometry with the other-I'm sorry I'm going to stick with the idea that fantasy names should sound more fantastic than mundane.
Rarely active, try DA/Tumblr Avatar by pippanaffie.deviantart.comThere are hundreds of real names that sound interesting without artificially distorting phonemes. For instance: Aisling, Setanta, Sanji, Vritras (Indian), Lucrezia. . . Need I go on?
Look,if you feel you have to use a fake name, make it so that the average Anglophone can pronounce it without hassle. If it requires a pronunciation guide, I'll vote against it no matter how interesting the concept is.

Mura: -flips the bird to veterinary science with one hand and Euclidean geometry with the other-Well then we'll just have to see what other people think then. As we are clearly at an impasse here.

Mura: -flips the bird to veterinary science with one hand and Euclidean geometry with the other-Lycan and Centaur are made from the same concept: Animal people
I like the beast-folk explanation and backstory.
Btw: last chance for anyone who hasn't voted before I update the Main Page again.
(I'm thinking of doing this in a weekly basis, since we're coming up with so much stuff so fast.)
Will tally up the votes for the update tonight, assuming nothing comes up.
So what are we doing with dwarves?
Votes tallied. Everything made it in except- the elemental dwarves. Though I propose it gets reworked and submitted as another race.
And next time, no "Everything but" style of voting. It made it a lot harder to count the votes.
Then again I let the list get long, too. Will do the updates more often to avoid that.
Update will be done tomorrow.
Tims and the Beastial rings
Tims was an odd ball of a mage, many said he's ideas were mad but few would call him outright evil, at worst he was a prankster until he crafted his 12 bestial rings, while his intent was never sinister, the results made him go from the towns odd ball mage, into one of the towns most feared mages and eventually lead to his exile.
Tims found out about the creation of beastfolk and decided to try his hand at it, so he saved up and bought a farm just outside the town. He studied for days and weeks and eventually created 12 rings each with the instincts of an animal infused inside of it with a bit more.
He then latter gave the rings to people around town he knew as gifts, what he didn't know was that farm was a minor leyluine and that those rings were more powerfully than he imagined.
The dog's ring, the roosters, the bulls, mules, cows, snakes, bears, wolves, hawks, hens, frogs, and cats.
the people not only became walking stereotypes of these animals, after two weeks of wearing them they slowly turning into the animals themselves, the local farmer, black smith, captain, lord and his daughter all had to be rounded up.
Tims was brought before them, to fix his mistake which he did returning each and every one of them back to normal, and now even had control over how much they changed and to what extent except for the lord's daughter who had gotten the ring of the mule and now was stuck as a mule due to her transformation accidentally destroying the ring that transformed her.
Tims pleaded with the lord but by then the damage was done, the lord had him locked in his barn and left him their to die which was not for many years and many inventions later but this is what lead to the legend of Tims, the maddened.
Rumor has it he crafted a new 12th ring in his final days, The ring of man but nobody knows what it did or what happened to it.

Clockpunk cannibalistic cyborgs.
Mura: -flips the bird to veterinary science with one hand and Euclidean geometry with the other-Updating completed. Added three new sections, for deities, abilities and artifacts. Please check them out an let me know of any errors.
Working on updating the Summary as well.
Also, I think we need a more clear definition between 'creatures' and 'races'.
Gah, why is the moon in there? I don't recall agreeing to that.
Edit: we'll, I'll be damned. Herm. . .

Mura: -flips the bird to veterinary science with one hand and Euclidean geometry with the other-That's what happens when you use the "I vote for everything except X" option. Very easy to forget something. So from now on, I'm not allowing it. Get used to making lists, people.
So what are we doing about the dwarves?
Beast-Folk
It started when the the first wizard thought, 'What if I could make minions out of animals?' One of the first overtures into that direction created the Lycan: A wizard created the Lycanthropy Virus that included Essence of Humanoid and infected wolves it, creating wild wolfmen that could infect other wolves to create more of their kind. What the wizard did not anticipate is that she could not control her creations and the virus could be transmuted back into humanoids, passing on the essence of the wolf to them. She was the first victim in fact, and in grief induced madness for the loss of her humanity created all the other breeds of lycanthrope known today.
The next overture in this direction was the attempt to give animal full on human parts the included the head, and usually the entire upper half as well. This resulted in centaurs, nagas, harpies and one completely backwards mistake was the minotaur. In this case, the wizard was less trying to create an army as he was trying to play god for the sake of it.
The most successful attempt was by the Black Prince. His first attempt was with hyenas, going in the direction of the lycanthropes by instilling the whole body with humanoid essence but more streamlined and without the risk of a virus. To this day, his homelands consider the gnoll an infestation, it was his second attempt, creating the outright anthromorphic creatures most people call today as Beast-Folk that was successful. They were full intelligent and civilized, so close to humanoids they could interbreed without the aid of magic. Around the world, his designs were imitated but few succeeded in instilling the same loyalty he did.
