Current image too gory?: Tear Off Your Face

Hi, everyone. See the thread title. The one on the top is the current pic, and the one on the bottom is the new proposal.

I'm good with the Dead Alive pic.

I was thinking of the episode of Family Guy where Chris plays the old "Got your nose" trick on Peter, and Peter responds by tearing off Chris's face. He's screaming and freaking out while Lois just sits there and continues reading her paper. "Calm down, it's a trick..."

I don't see anything wrong with the current one. It's a pretty gross effect.

Yeah, but there's never anything wrong with showing a less grossed out version of the trope. Something less.... sticky.

I've got a clearer example from DMFA.

The DMFA pic would work, I suppose, but can we get something with no gore at all? Perhaps a Loney-Toons-esque pic of someone with the front of their face torn off with just a skull in its place?

Motion to pull the current pic, at least temporarily.

Sorry for the double, but... while the DMFA pic does technically demonstrate the trope, it's really not a typical example - I haven't read the comic due to my aversion to all things furry, but it generally refers to doing it to other people, and that image looks like the face was actually a mask to begin with. Scorpion and Freddy Krueger are the only examples on there that come close to that, and Scorpion is the only one that's even borderline. I just took some screen grabs of the Freddy:

Can someone find an image from Spongebob Squarepants episode where dillusional Mrs. Puff tears off two guard's face off? That one is really...looney toon-ish and decent.

I like the suggestion on the OP.

That is pure High Octane Nightmare Fuel and even gorier than the current pic.

Also I support the motion to pull. We should be going for a humorous take on the trope rather than some Gorn stuff.

I'm starting to agree that the bloodier ones should go in Image Links rather than on the main page. The Grimlock pic is fine.

The DMFA pic seems like the best of the lot.

I'm hesitant on the DMFA pic, only because most of the time it's done to someone else. There, it looks like she's taking off a mask. I'm actually probably going to remove the Scorpion example for exactly that reason.

Technically, she is taking off a mask...made of someone else's face because her own got torn off, or she took it off, it's never clarified.
