I wonder if it's too late to mention a particular system that no self-respecting ODST should be without: TSAS.

Tactile Sensory Awareness System, a threat detection system that was being developed by the US Navy about 7 years ago. Never heard what actually came of it. It uses radio to detect IFF frequencies. When it picks up a hostile IFF, it activates a vertical strip of vibrating discs in the direction of the threat, which then change position relative to the threat.

The ODST (And the rest of the UNSC, for that matter) make use of STARS, the Stealth Tactical Aeriel Reconnaissance Satellite. It's a baseball sized satellite that remains in geosync orbit over a battlefield, giving real time topographical intel, allied and enemy locations, and equipment positions directly to every soldier's HUD. It's basically that system put Up To Eleven

...Oh yeah, I forgot for a second that Helljumpers have HUDs.

Technically, every marine has a HUD (It's on the open visor of the regular marines, and eye piece for the army), however the ODSTs have an enhanced version called the VISR system. It highlights enemies in red and allies in green, while also integrating with any UNSC network in an area. It can even be used to commadere the city garbage system, if necessary.

Yeah, I remember now. I just braindumped with having been playing Battlefield so much lately and forgetting about the awesomeness that is the ODST.

I derp'd on the signup, I said the visor was narrowed and I meant widened.

Curse the ill fortune that led you to me.

You also derped on the colouration; all ODST visors are opaque and sliver-blue.

She does fiddle with her equipment. Hence smoky visor.

It's been dead for some time, sadly.

It's kind of funny. Sufficiently advanced stupidity is like sufficiently advanced science; eventually, you find something you can't solve.

Try the new mass effect RP, maybe?

This RP has been dead for quite some time. As a result I am locking the signups to prevent further necromancy. If you wish to restart it in a separate thread, you may do so.
