Mato accepting IBRS as part of herself doesn't seem that obvious, what with normal-BRS-who-is-probably-Mato fighting IBRS in the preview. That makes it look like it'll be more about facing that part of herself down rather than accepting it or something. I dunno.

I find it kind of funny that they actually left out the original

Why Not fan subs are done.

Finished the episode. While there are at least a billion things people could make fun of later through Memetic Mutation, it was a heartwarming and epic final episode.

Strength! ;_;

So, episode eight: Pretty decent. There's a lot of things that don't entirely make sense and others that make me question how happy the ending actually is, but it was pulled off pretty well

On the show itself: One of the better things I've seen for a while. In particular, the fight scenes are among, if not the best I've seen. Characters are likable, and the plot is interesting even if it is kind of pretentious and nonsensical

More specific criticism: The first two episodes aren't terribly good. Also, characters sort of disappear as it goes on: Kagari and Kohacchi stop doing anything after episode four, Yomi after episode five, and Saya after episode six. Which really hurts the last two, since we never really get to see Yomi under normal circumstances, or enough of Saya to get a clear picture of what she's like at all

In comparison to the OVA: On the TV anime's side, it has more and better fight scenes. Both are confusing, but in different ways; the OVA explains nothing but is fairly straightforward, while the TV anime gives a lot of explanations that don't really make sense. I prefer the OVA's way, but I suppose it's a matter of taste. On the OVA's side, it did an excellent job with the characters, providing a solid emotional core that the TV anime never managed

In conclusion: I want a sequel to the OVA now

Just watched last episode Well I'll be damned a happy ending!.. well except for strenght because umm... she is dead and became one with the world or something.

[up]I second the idea to a sequel to the ova.

[up]You should watch until the very last second after the credits. It was an ok final episode, not really how I pictured it would play out but overall the series was pretty good.

Huh, seems like the speculation that we'd see BEAST has helped popularize her, even if she didn't show up

And so, our eight-episode colorful journey has come to an end. It was a fun ride.

Also, I knew that wasn't the end of the book!

Feel free to look around.

All's well that ends well, I suppose. I found it fitting that all the slain Otherselves came back, since as long as a person continues living, he or see will continue to experience pain and sorrow — alongside happiness of course. As such their struggles will continue, but for some reason I have a feeling that there's a sort of 'ceasefire' now between the main four we've been introduced to. Well, until their real-world selves get into a fight or something, but that's how life goes, after all.

So, I have a question... With Yuu back in the real world, where will we have to add Older Than They Look to? She IS around Saya's age, after all (and she's at least in her mid-20s).

It was the best 8-episoded fun ride I've ever had with this one. Compared to the OVA, I definitely like this one more, since it gives everyone a logical and fitting conclusion despite all the plot that happened. The wangst has ended, the people have moved on, and there's more to life than before to look forward to.

All that's left is to settle the mess of alternate interpretations like Innocent Soul or the game

Hm... I think I'd give this show about a 7/10. I rewatched the whole thing yesterday, and there's a lot that doesn't make sense and that, thematically, doesn't tie in the way they (in my opinion) should have done it.

It's been fun.

All in all, this was a nice watch. Nothing that connected to me on an emotional level, but the fight scenes are great and I kind of have to admire how unconventional it is, even if it's not particularly to my taste. I'm meh about the characters and the plot in general, but the way it's presented is interesting enough.

Can someone explain what's up with that part after the ED in the final episode?

[up] Strength appeared to have "died", but the scene after the credits shows that she is still "alive" or existing. Meaning that as long as the girls experience pain or some other conflicting emotions, the Other Selves will still be there and continue to fight.

At least, that's what I got.

Feel free to look around.

There's a slight difference now though: the old BRS would have probably slain STR on the spot. Instead she basically goes off on her own way. I think the assumption is that, at least for the four Other Selves embodying the 4 friends, there's a ceasefire of sorts... Which will last until one of them steals another's boyfriend, or something. :P
