I can't find a single one I fit though I take elements from several.

I suppose I'm a Ronreclus or something?

Neither do I, though the ones I'm most similiar to are Pro Gamer, Rec Gamer, and Retro Gamer... I have however engaged in minor to major Fanboi tendencies in the past... which aren't completely gone.

On closer examination, I also have some slight Pirate tendencies. evil grin

Rec = Recreational, i.e. "casual" gamer. Truth be told, I hate all these different labels for different kinds of gamers. While there certainly are different demographics and target audiences within the gaming community, having standardized labels like "casual" and "hardcore" just promotes an elitist "us vs. them" mentality and makes a lot of people angry over nothing.

Somehow you know that the time is right.

Guys stop taking this so seriously. It was probably by some chan-dwelling dude as a little joke, so course it's going to seem narrow-minded inaccurate and such. That's part of the humor.

[up][up] Hm... there must be some reason for '@$$clown' being the only one with green text.

Just for fun, I was a Fatlus until recently in that most of my actual playing time was spent on one Korean MMO or another.

I have been a Rec for my entire since a life outside of videogames is essential for surviving in today's society and I have never posted in /v/.

I now skew Retro since I rediscovered my love of Diablo clones (though I was never into the Diablo franchise itself) and there are no new 3A specimens until TL 2.

Time to Take a Third Option. I'm the gaming king, bitches. Yes your in the presence of royalty. Bowing is optional but encouraged.

Piss-taking a side, I'd probably fit into rec gaming.

I'm probably somewhere between Rec Gamer and Retro Gamer.

I'm kind of bothered by one of the "Fatlus" descriptors:

Honestly believes menu/turn based gaming requires just as much skill as jetpack sniper fights from TRIBES.

Um, while I do agree that turn-based games don't require very fast reflexes or quick thinking, they do require some sort of strategy or planning; it's still skill, but it's a different kind of skill.

Sure, many of these games tend to make the mistaken assumption that Level Grinding is the same as skill, but if you play JRPGs casually like I do, then you'll find that there are quite a few with a level curve just steep enough to give you a challenge without resorting to Forced Level-Grinding. The best examples I can think of are Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI, they are both easy enough to get through without level grinding and still give you a good challenge.
