"You can just tell?"

Apparently not, because this seems like a perfectly legitimate idea to me that the picture gets the point across for. For which the picture gets the point across. Or something. Can you elaborate on your "Fan Myopia" theory, and what specifically you'd like to have happen?

Being in a Japanese-produced work is not enough of a difference to warrant its own trope.

I agree with the OP. How can you people tell if it's supposed to be a parody without knowing of the work beforehand?

[up][up][up] Well, if you haven't seen Shrek, she looks like a normal princess, and you don't even know what's going to happen.

Yeah, this completely relies on knowing how her character behaves in that wretched Shrek movie to get the context across.

Pulled, because there's no indication that it's a farce unless you've seen the movie.

It's all sweet and light... until it's not.

I don't like it very much, not because it's bad, but because it creeps me out. I'm all for the Enchanted rats scene though.

[up] Yes, and everytime I see something terrible...I just apply Brain Bleach immediately.

Why you might ask will that not work right now for the Snow White image?...simple...I'm fresh out of brain bleach :P

I like it - maybe cut out the second and fourth panels to save space.

As for nightmare fuel, this has nothing on photorealistically-rendered Homer Simpson.
