Sam And Max Hit the Road. Awesome game that I herd of when I was young, might have played it a few years ago if the computer could have runned it. Now thanks to a year introduction to the Freelance Police via Telltale Games and the comics which they came from I tried once again via Amazon to play Hit the Road... this time success!
I’m a lumberjack and I’m ok. I sleep all night and work all day.Just upgraded my video card, and emulated a Sega Saturn on my computer. Currently playing Panzer Dragoon Saga.
There's also Half-Life, which I haven't played until a few weeks ago. I was wanting to play the first Half-Life before playing the second, but I have no patience so I started playing Half-Life 2.
Feel free to vandalize me.Fallout 3. Which I didn't start playing until this summer. I haven't been playing it too much lately, but it's still a great game
Have to second TF 2. I had a lot of friends who played it before, but I didn't start playing until it went free-to-play. Still not very good at it, but I am enjoying it immensely.
My Fanfiction.net Page My DeviantArt PageWestern RP Gs in general, but Mass Effect and KOTOR really stick out.

Sorry, I can't hear you from my FLYING METAL BOX!Seconded on western RP Gs, like Fallout and Mass Effect.
Feel free to vandalize me.Another game I knew about but not played till recently was first learned a few years ago but it was only on few game platforms years before. Then it recently a few mouths ago came on the Virtual Console. This game is Final Fantasy VI.
I’m a lumberjack and I’m ok. I sleep all night and work all day.First, I read about Ico in a manga/anime magazine, but didn't have much interest. Later, Shadow Of The Colossus came out and I was quite interested in it and since it's by the same developers, I also gained interest in Ico. Alas, I didn't have a PS 2. When I finally got one, I couldn't find either game anywhere, not even used.
But then, the Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection for PS 3 came out, which I bought yesterday...
People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.Eternal Eyes. I read about it in a magazine way back in the late 90's, thought it looked cool, and really wanted to play it, but didn't get the chance to until earlier this year.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaShin Megami Tensei III Nocturne.
Known for at least 2 years, didn't buy until last week.

Similar deal with Bit Trip RUNNER, because I figured I could wait for the PC port and then wait for it to go on sale on Steam. Finally picked it up during the Steam Summer Sale.

Extra 1: Poochy Ain't StupidThe Shin Megami Tensei series, and (less recently, the last 5 years or so) Castlevania.
I didn't play Uncharted Drakes Fortune until like a few months ago, if that counts.
Estimated shipping time: 2-4 weeks.I only recently started playing The Wind Waker, a full eight years after its original release.
That's my case with the Yarudora game Kisetsu o Dakishimete.
I bought it back in 2009 during my 1-year study trip in Japan, having heard of the greatness of that series then, but only started to play it a month ago, due to having been busy chiefy with the Tokimeki Memorial, Mitsumete Knight, Ace Attorney, Professor Layton and Pokemon games, as well as Lightning Legend Daigo No Daibouken. (I'm a 100% completionist-type, so I hate leaving a game I'm currently playing before having finished it)

"Your kindness gives me the presentiment I can be reborn. Now, I want to believe at least in you." - Kaori YaeDitto on the [1] series, I got and finished Persona 4 a month ago and I am currently running through Nocturne and Persona 3 Portable. I'm probably going to play Strange Journey next
Edit: what is this, I am such a noob who can't even pothole a link correctly D:

I need to make a troper page D:I only recently realized Team Fortress 2 had gone free to play.
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. I had heard about it, but couldn't find it anywhere. That is, until recently where I was browsing Gamestop on Black Friday and saw it sitting on the shelf.

I'm been doing this a lot lately; I owned Bayonetta and Uncharted 2 for a while and took a pretty long time to get to them. I still haven't played Resistance 2, Infamous, Killer 7 or Viewtiful Joe yet for that matter.
Yeah, I've got a lot of games collecting dust. I tend to be a completionist with most of my games, so I'll generally stick with the one for months nonstop while others pass by.

Hell yeah. Amusingly, that's pretty much how me and my bestie got our hands on a copy of it ourselves. We were browsing Gamestop during a sale, and "Hey, isn't that that one game...?" It was that one game. And it is great.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaWhat's even better is that I managed to find Kirby Air Ride as well (which is very underrated, as I soon found out).

Western RP Gs here, too, namely Fallout and Diablo.
I put on my robe and tinfoil hat...Arc the Lad Twilight of Spirits, this was an amazing game, and it turns out that this is only the fourth game of the Arc the Lad series and it has a sequel that continues their story! BUT I heard everywhere that the sequel sucks, so yeah most people don't really count it as the fifth game.
Bastion. I have heard of it, but didn't have a chance to play it until recently (when I found out how's it actually called)
STEALTH!!!
Just a thread for discussing video games you knew about or had but didn't play until recently. One for me definitely has to be The Lost Vikings. I got this game for the Sega Genesis in late 2009 bundled with my JVC X'eye and tons of other Genesis games as a late Christmas gift, but I didn't actually play it and get into in until 2010 and early 2011 when I started hearing good things about it, and boy am I glad I finally played this game. It's a fun and very unique puzzle platformer game with a nice sense of humor, nice cartoonish 2D graphics, and likable characters. If you ever get the chance to play this game, do it, you won't regret it. Anyways, discuss.
UPDATE: Another one, Team Fortress 2. I had known about this game since 2009, but it wasn't until July or August of this year where I finally had a computer capable of running it. I've gotten very far with this game and have been playing it religiously lately.
