I'm freaking disgusted. This lack of knowledge of American history bothers me deeply

Utah in open rebellion, Canada occupied, the former CSA being painfully re-incorporated, Texas and the Republic of Quebec needing more and more help from the USA every day. And now those incidents with barrels down in Baja...

How do people know so little about the shape of the world?

Need I remind you of the cities that got superbombed at the end of the War? And who did the bombing?

  • Petrograd (1944; Germany)
  • Phildelphia (1944; Confederate States)
  • Paris (1944; Germany)
  • Newport News (1944; United States)
  • Charleston (1944; United States)
  • Hamburg (1944; Britain)
  • London (1944; Germany)
  • Norwich (1944; Germany)
  • Brighton (1944; Germany)
  • Belgium (1944; Accidental British detonation)

If Norrland won the Swedish Civil War then Kiev and Algiers wouldn't have gotten nuked.

I still can't tell if all these people missed the point that badly, or if they were trying to be funny.
Neither for me. But the OP doesn't make much sense, so why should I?

Having a title saying "What if the North had won the Civil War" is confusing on its own because it doesnt refer to which civil war for a kick off and then saying

I mean, wouldn't that be a freaky world?

Having only one or two countries on this continent instead of the 5 at the end of the Second Great War or the 4.5 we have now?

My buddy even says that the Mormons would be fielding candidates for President right now. I think he's nuts.

Just compounds the confusion even more.

If the North had won the war, the Lower Egyptians would have been rulers of the Higher egyptians, not the other way around. Since Egypt was such a heavy influence on Greece, Persia, and other notable civilizations, such a significant change to Egypt would undoubtedly change history.

How big a change would that be? I was under an impression that Egypt's influence was more about mathematics than anything else.

If the North had won the war, we might not live in this wonderful country free of racism. Now we have equal opportunity slavery.

Why is the American talking about "what if the North won the civil war?" They did! Here in Soviet Britain, we would never allow people to spout such garbage. we even learned how to contact otuer realities using the internet. The Nazis have too. well it was their technology we used. But I refuse to believe that there is a dimension where the Confederacy won the war.

Don't forget Jake Featherstone's mad quest for vengeance against black people. The death toll from that was catastrophic.

My grandad survived the London superbombing. Poor bastard was blinded by the flash. We apparently also had relatives in Canada; never heard from them again. Probably rounded up and shot.

The OP made perfect sense to me...

The OP is actually speculating on what would have happened if the South won the civil war, but he is doing so using the rather witty method of acting as if it actually did and he were speculating on the opposite.

How did I forget Featherston?

Oh gog, six million black women, children, and men all dead and I didn't even mention that fact.

I might as well walk around shouting "FREEDOM".

@pagad: Hey, the media distorts things a lot both ways. You ever hear about Johnathan Moss? He defended Potter in court at the war crimes trials, but before that he married a woman who came from a long line of Canadian patriots. She, and their young daughter, were killed by a bunch of Canadian terrorists.

The man was also an ace pilot across both wars.

Sort of reminds me of Terezi, justice above all.

Fuck, what a mess. I'll bet he didn't take the news very well.

You know, it's odd that the European theatre doesn't get nearly as much attention as the American one. You'd have thought that the only fighting happened on the American continent.

Well, the superiority of German Imperial Forces was pretty much a given. Uncle Bill knew what he was doing, the North American theater was a much bigger question mark.

I dunno, it was up in the air when the British and French were driving on Hamburg. The Tsar's idiocy and Russian backwardness meant the Eastern Front was never in doubt but it was a close thing in the west.

Don't forget the close co-operation of the Confederate and Royal Navies in the Pacific, either. Remember the Sandwich Islands debacle?
