All Purpose Evangelion Fanfiction Thread

Read through Evageeks poking fun at the fic "Father".

It really makes it obvious just how awful that fic is.

oh god, I've actually read fics this bad.

I barely made it through half of that post, but I lol'd pretty hard; especially at the "wild lesbian with a turkey baster" comment. Who is the father, by any chance?

I'm calling Shinji: he got drunk at Misato's party and took advantage of Asuka? Or maybe Kaji, for the same reason.

The execution in general, yes. The idea is not so horrible, on the other hand.

And yeah, it's almost painfully obvious that the author intended to reveal Shinji as the unwitting father, who evidently got too drunk to remember doing Asuka. I mean, Asuka herself only vaguely remembers a "dream" on that night where she had sex with some mystery nice guy.

Pff. Hell no! Shinji "THE MAN" Ikari would never take advantage of a drunken girl.

And take a shot everytime Shinji glares at people so intensely that ~insert idiotic comparison~.

Or wait, could it be that THE COWARD got THE MAN in a moment of weakness?! What a twist!

Even though I think it's most possible for Shinji to be the father in this fic, it'd piss me off if it was really so cut-and-dry. Oh, he's behaving so defensively! He knows deep down even if he can't remember!

Though if he actually knew, that'd add a bit of a twist to the story: let Asuka think it was a random baby and he'd look like a nice guy for offering to take care of her and the kid. Then he has a happy family, and next to no baggage keeping him there if stuff doesn't work out.

He's obviously a different and more twisted version of THE COWARD.

Well, let's say Shinji was drunk at the time and got fairly bitter, as people are known to do while drunk. He remembers taking advantage of her, and while afraid to begin with, begins to rationalize it and eventually twist it into his plot.

So, not necessarily a Jerk Sue, more like a sociopathic loner who just wants to be loved.

You read this fic, right? XD

Yeah, we do get insight into his thinking processes in-story, and he evidently does not consciously remember ever doing anything to Asuka that day/night.

Quite possible. If THE DIRTY COWARD (well, I'd call him THE DIRTY BASTARD instead, since he's not necessarily cowardly, and also Cast Speciation) does exist, I expect an epic mental showdown at some point.

I meant more like that we're obviously meant to find this Shinji incredibly Badass and likeable, so it's highly unlikely that the author would pull this.

Yeah, there's a fair bit of fanfic there. Some of it just links to fanfiction.net though (fanfiction.net is blocked on my laptop), and it's incredibly tough to know what a fic contains unless it's stated directly in the title line.

Still, I guess I will go looking through the Fandom Area.
