Ayana Taketatsu and Fan Dumb

Yeah. I read San Com for the H and the Chinese intellectual copyright infringements which amuses me a lot.

But this might go serious: if otakus try to kill Ayana like what they tried to do with Yurika Ochiai, it will be much more trouble. Ayana needs police protection.

And it seems that the Fan Dumb take their targets selectively. I have been wondering on how did for example, Kaori Nazuka and Maaya Sakamoto escaped Fan Dumb when they married even though they are known to voice Moe characters and looked good too, and how Aya and Ayana have haters even though they only have boyfriends. This strikes me as odd.

This supports my theory that this sort of thing only crops up when the assholes at 2chan get bored.

Maybe (on Maaya's part) because it was Suzumura "STELLAAAAAAAAAA" Kenichi she married? Both of them were, after all, had characters who were screwed over royally just because the series head writer threw a hissy fit.

P.S. Do people over on the Occidental side react this way when someone like, say, Caitlin Glass or Vic McDerpaDerp decides to tie the knot or have pictures of their SO's leaked on the 'tubes?

As I've said before, I've never read of such Yoko Oh No moments with regards to American voice actors. All I just read are "congrats" and stuff.

My first thought was that it's because they have "aya" in their names, but then I realized that Maaya does too... Maybe it has to start with a vowel?

• Read that Rei Igarashi and Show Hayami are Happily Married.
• Read that their most notable roles are Precia Testarossa and Sousuke Aizen
• MIND. TOTALLY. BLOWN.

Come to think of it, why react that way? I mean, I'm totally okay with Konata shacking up with someone (read the funniest doujin concerning said subject matter). It's not like Aya Hirano started making tweets about TIGER BLOOD and WINNING, did she?

Plus, it's just a boyfriend... the otaku can simply focus their attention on someone else.

Just some assorted observations which may or may not make sense:

With reference to the other two couples and why they're not singled out, I'd just like to refer to the previous posts in this thread on "purity". And at the risk of bringing up a potentially contentious topic (sorry, dRoy), this is probably heavily linked to Moe and the kind of Periphery Demographic it attracts. The above-mentioned couples are definitely not linked to the above archetype, and it looks like that spares them the same degree of hate.

Agreed that it's not a Japan-exclusive thing - the first Occidental example I thought of was Jodie Foster and the Reagan assassination attempt.

And I shouldn't have to state the obvious, but when you start conflating characters with their VAs, and then start with the weird stalker-ish behavious, it just shows that you've got a rather tenuous grasp on reality.
