Did we decide on how we're getting the characters together? I did a thread skim so I'm totally sure what's official and what isn't.
I'm pretty sure the concept of Law having limits was a translation error. -WanderlustwarriorI'd really like you to come up with a name for her please, even if it's just one word name or similar. Also, do a quick general punctuation/grammar check on the profile, and remove the luck thing. Apart from that, sounds good.
So we have two characters who use lightning... that's interesting.
This was my idea:
Since the deserts are quite dangerous for those alone, or without powers, each city needs to be given protection by the Government's own assembled soldiers/Marshals/Sheriffs to hold off the beasts that wander the deserts (If one of those huge scorpions comes crashing towards the town, the enforcers can come out, drive it back, and protect the innocents). However, the Government is short staffed, so certain towns have been abandoned because it's just not safe to be there.
To get between places safely, a system of teleports exist in towns and cities across the world to allow people easy travel.
The RP starts by several characters entering a teleport, hoping to go to a new town. Bustling, full of new people, or just can help them in some way.
...Except they've just been sent to an abandoned town, with the well dried up and some of the buildings broken. The nearest town can only be reached by crossing the treacherous desert. A warehouse still exists with wares, but apart from that... it's a grim battle for survival on this nameless planet.
This is The Troped West (Name to be considered).
Inspirational quote against powerful image of nature.Well, Stitches doesn't really use lightning so much as redirects it.
But that's just semantics.
"You have more than enough potential. So tell me what is the one wish that would make your soul gem shine." -Mitt Romney, probablyFixed.
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything. It sounds like certain characters can wind up there a lot earlier than others. Perhaps the town is basically an outlaw central, in the sense that it's a free-for-all survival through the town. Only a few dozen people "live" there, and it's becoming very apparent that they need to leave, but no one wants to risk it. By the time all our characters get there, something finally forces all the people out - a huge monster, a government wipe-out plan, who knows, but basically you have around 50 outlaws, including our varied characters, struggling to get out of the town, doing anything to keep their supplies and their lives.
I'm pretty sure the concept of Law having limits was a translation error. -WanderlustwarriorAccepted.
Hmm... outlaw central, maybe we can either make that a different place, or combine it with another area.
I do approve of the 10 or so (Not 50) still around, trying to escape, rob people, or just trek out in the desert. However if you mean that the RP takes place in that single town, well... I don't like that.
In short, we can have some NPC redshirts, and have them do a quick scuffle at the beginning of the RP, but I will want them to go into the desert. This is just the starter town. They will come to a bigger town later.
I'm not starting the RP now. I'm waiting for 2-3 days or something for more people to get known about the thread and join. I don't want us to appear elitist.

Inspirational quote against powerful image of nature. Here's a timeline of what I meant:
- For years, the town has been abandoned. The people that come here soon realize it's no place for humans, but crime has overtaken the city. Criminals troll the place for easy victims, struggling to steal enough supplies to live the next day.
- Some of our characters within the past week have already gotten situated here. What they're doing here by the time the RP starts is up to them.
- The rest of the characters appear at non-specific intervals, interact, realize the mess they're in, etc.
- Some force, whatever it may be, begins to destroy the town, flushing the criminals and our characters out. Imagine a dozen outlaws fighting each other just to get outside the city before whatever the big threat is kills them - in the end, only our characters survive.
- Cue adventure.
It shouldn't take too long to get to "adventure."
I'm pretty sure the concept of Law having limits was a translation error. -WanderlustwarriorHmm, I'll think about it.
Still open.

You exist because we allow it and you will end because we demand it.I will be writing a character a bit later as well. Expect it tonight.
Alright. Welcome aboard.
Inspirational quote against powerful image of nature.- Name: Kimi Chase-The-Wind, known as Chase.
- Age: 23.
- Gender: Female.
- Race: Human (Native).
- Description: She's a tall, strong and curvy Ojibwe woman. She has hip-length black hair, kept in narrow braids. She has dark skin and big, dark eyes. Chase is covered in full-body tattoos, most of them representing the Thunderbird. She wears a black hide bodice with leather strings, without any undershirt beneath it; a deep red hide jacket with bone ornaments down the front, fringed hide riding pants and cowboy boots. She usually wears a warbonnet with horns, presumably a trophy. Chase carries several scalps and a medicine bag on her belt.
- Personality: Chase is witty and upbeat, making comedic light even out of the worst situations (often through Gallows Humor). She's very secretive when it comes to herself, giving cryptic answers whenever she's asked. Chase's got the name of a nomad and the wanderlust to match: She's too restless and reckless to ever really settle down, relying on her luck and cunning to overcome any trouble she gets in. She's outgoing, but emotionally distant.
- Weapons/Skills: She's a good shot with the Winchester, and she can cause a fair bit of carnage if she gets toe-to-toe with her tomahawk. A life on the run has taught her many tricks when it comes to cheating at cards or getting away with free stuff. She's by nature a shaman, so she can interact with spirits and perform Indian rituals: She's a full-blown medicine woman, capable of healing wounds, rainmaking and that sort of stuff. Able to live off the land.
- History: Chase comes from the Pacific Northwest, from a small Ojibwe settlement. She was born with the gift of spirit sight, the mark of a shaman. Still, Chase was a restless spirit from the start. She didn't fancy life as a wife, mother and healer, so she packed her bags and left when she was 14, a development which surprised nobody at all. She's been chasing the wind ever since, looking for adventures.
She's basically the good ol' wandering Indian trickster and trapper from popular culture, except this time the wandering Indian trapper is a chick.

You exist because we allow it and you will end because we demand it.Just out of curiosity — has anyone made an actual Western Gunslinger? (Aside from the TC' Angel-guy, who may or may not be a PC; if he is a PC, then consider my following paragraph somewhat invalid.) I could be wrong, but so far, we have; a mysterious owner of a mysterious organization with a sword, a little kid who's really an old man (with a magic sword,), Frankenstein in the Wild West, a 'Thunderbird' in young teenager form, and an Indian; the closet thing is the one guy who at least dresses like a a Western Gunslinger, but he doesn't even use a gun. I'm not saying that that our current line up is bad, or anything like that; it's just that in a 'Weird West' RP, regardless of how 'Weird' it gets, it'd just be nice to have at least one traditional Western Gunslinger Hero type character.

That's a good point, if I get to have a second character, maybe I should create someone with Improbable Aiming Skills...
Some people say I'm lazy. It's hard to disagree.Hey! My personal issues are beginning to sort themselves out, so I should have a character up soon! Out of curiosity, what sorts of characters are already made, and what are missing (besides Western Gunslinger).

I pretty much described who we have; as for who we don't, aside from the already described lack of a traditional Western Gunslinger, I couldn't tell ya'. You could probably come up with just about anything, so long as it isn't something any of us have done.
Oh. I missed that... Oh! I have an idea for a character!
If it means anything, a character I had planned out but ended up not using was a sniper that had platform-making bullets and a couple scenario-specific guns.
I'm pretty sure the concept of Law having limits was a translation error. -WanderlustwarriorActually, my character was going to be a gunslinger.
I can make my character something other than a gunslinger easily, but gunslinger would probably be preferred...
Guys, this is a western, a genre famous for gunslingers!

Some people say I'm lazy. It's hard to disagree.Right, so we can have multiple.
Name: Juan Bonnet
Age: 36
Gender: Male
Race: Human (Clone)
Appearance: Being cloned from an Afro-Colombian man, Juan has dark brown skin and eyes. Despite being only 36 years old, his hair and mustache are almost completley white, and he looks to be about 50 years of age. Juan typically wears a black duster with a white shirt and a pair of black trousers. He wears a pair of steeltoe boots with spurs, and he has a black neckerchief tied around his neck.
Personality: Despite looking to be past his prime, Juan is a daredevil and an adventure loving man, who is used to the heat of battle and the thrill of the chase. Despite his freedom-loving nature, Juan respects and follows typical rules and regulations, but he hates tyranny.
Nationality: Afro-Colombian
Weapons/skills: Juan is more resilient and agile than the average man, and is unencumbered by the effects of his early aging. Juan wields the Alabaster, a high-powered shotgun that can either shoot normal shells or fire blasts of wind capable of knocking a man off his feet.
History: A failed attempt at human cloning, Juan was wastefully discarded by his creators in the middle of the desert; Fully clothed, well educated, but with no memories or purpose. He was quickly rescued by a witchdoctor, who saw great potential in him and taught him how to work for the good of the chaotic world. After several years, Juan set off to see the rest of the world and find a purpose in life.

"@[=g3,8d]&fbb=-q]/hk%fg"Yeah OK we need more gunslingers, kkhohoho is right (Even though his character doesn't use a gun. Bit of hypocrisy there, but valid point none-the-less). Make your gunslingers, with Improbable Aiming Skills and all. If you don't give them superpowers, then the sky is the limit for whatever skills they have. Can they jump really high, or cling to walls? Sure. Can they shoot a gun, and have the bullet follow the Earth's axis so it returns and shoots the person behind them? Go for it. Do they have special bullets (Like Tails Doll's character)? Perfect.
@deathpigeon No. For now, everyone has one character per player. This will not always be the rule but at the moment it's greedy. As for my two, they're the hero and villain. You won't even meet James for a few pages at least.
I'll turn James into a more traditional evil 'sheriff', and implement a new policy got gunslingers. If they're mundane humans, then give them all the Tropes you want related to guns.
@Tails Doll Your character is accepted
@Savage Heathen As is yours.
Deathpigeon, still waiting on yours. Saturn, go for gunslinger.
