Damn straight. I hate those stupid ass bunny costumes.

Have you never played a DOA game before? The costumes get increasingly fetishistic with every new installment. Hell, the first game basically codified jiggle physics, a thing that literally every 3D game now does. You may not like the costumes, you don't have to, but you're getting them anyway.

I like Mila, she's fun (a little creepy though). For some reason, I thought Mila was Canadian when I first saw her.

And why do I have to download all the DLC for the game to work every week? By the time it downloads I lose interest and contemplate whether the new UFC would let you edit in Mila.

I actually stopped playing this game for like a month because of all the stupid NO COSTUME UPDATES NO PLAY crap, such an inane design choice. Like just let me not play online? I spent like an hour getting all of the costume catalogs I needed.

It's not really "NO COSTUME UPDATES NO PLAY." It's moreso "Here's a system patch that also includes a bonus character/costume set."

Surely you couldn't have thought that all of those updates were but mere costume packs?

As I understand it they are to be able to use the new outfits, and by the way because the game sees fit to patch one in you have to download it to play at all. I could be wrong, but I could never get the game to run unless I had every single costume catalog.

Something that really me: What the hell kind of megacorp names itself "Dead or Alive Tournament Executive Committee"?

I thought the name of the company was DO Atec. That was just the, well committee that organized the fighting tournaments.

The name of the company is usually shortened to DOATEC, yes. But the expanded form is that long phrase that I just wrote above.

And what committee are you talking about, anyway? Nobody ever mentions such a committee doing anything.

... Come to think of it, when was the first mention of DOATEC itself in the lore, anyway? We know DOA2 was when Project Epsilon and Project Alpha debuted (the latter through Kasumi Alpha, then named "Kasumi X"), but other than that...

They never mention the committee doing anything, so I just assumed that was what it was referring to, and that the company and the committee just shared an acronym. However, since that IS the whole title, I'm just going to chalk it up to Engrish and lack of foresight.

Actually, what does DO Atec even do other than hold tournaments and experiment on people?

They are apparently into weapons research and development, judging by the highly militarized nature of their special projects (which are more likely than not intended to give them new products to sell; I mean, there's a whole Clone Army of Kasumi Alphas).

Here's to hoping that the canonical ending of DOA5 will involve Hayate and/or Ayane dealing the death blow to this human-with-the-heart-of-a-monster that would leave him Deader than Dead.

Well, Raidou looks to be pretty cool, so I can't complain about him coming back.

For all we know, the devs may actually have plans to bring back those two as well.

Raidou did always strike me as the Akuma of the DOA series, and now he's a cyborg just like Akuma was in those VS games.
