Enh, I understand it. It shows one girl helping the other run from ghosts when she could have gotten away faster if she just left her.
Its easy to understand if you understand the trope, but its supposed to be easy to understand if you don't understand the trope.
Maybe something from Bioshock, with the little sisters?
A Little Sister mourning a Big Daddy◊.
A Big Daddy shielding a Little Sister.◊

Those aren't really examples. This trope is about when the player has the potential to help or hurt.
Also a screen from Bioshock of the player choosing not to harvest a Little Sister might work, though.
Reaction Image RepositoryI think the current one works fine, but I am pretty sure it is not an example.
Edit. Yeah. Not an Example.
motion to pull.
Reason: Not an in-universe example.Side note. I think in Assassins Creed 2 there is an action command to hug someone.

Please. The Bioshock examples would be perfect if you can get a screenshot that shows you deciding whether to kill or save the Little Sister.... Actually, said screenshot would work for Cruelty Potential as well.
That's a tall order. Here's a few, going to see if I can find a good quality vid. Holding◊ charging◊, or purifying?◊
Oh just go to Youtube and hit the print screen button when it comes to a point when you're about to save or kill one. Then paste it in the paint program and crop it. Having the user interface showing that the player has a CHOICE in whether to save or kill her would demonstrate both tropes at once.

Perfect. I'd suggest it be used for both pages, if only that were allowed.
That looks great. Now, if you choose to save the Sister, what happens in-game? If something specific happens, it could be combined with that pic to emphasize the "caring". Likewise, it could be paired with a pic of the Sister being harvested for Video Game Cruelty Potential...although, I have to say, I really like the pic on that page.
You run a hand down them and light happens. Originally you could only harvest.
I tend not to think of that as an example though so what ev.
Please. The heck? You could always save them in both games. You gained more ADAM for killing them off, but you gained the good ending if you saved them all. This applied to both games.
The plan was that there would be no ability to save little sisters in bioshock, just harvest them. Also at one point you had to kill em to get the adam.
I need to play bioshock 2. It's on my list of games to play.
Please.Oh, and I just found out it's a duplicate image. Yet another reason to pull that sucker.
I TELL YOU HWAT!^ Actually, the same image can be used for a work page and a trope page. Fatal Frame is a work page, so it's fine there.
Can we get a second frame of the Bioshock one, where one of them comes back and gives you a teddybear?
Every third one you save nets you a teddybear with some useful loot in it.
Edit: Seems not, I've tried and can't get one that makes it obvious the bear is for you.

Bump. The "duplicate pic" problem can be resolved by replacing the pic on Fatal Frame with its cover art. Now, for this page, does anyone have any other suggestions? I can't look at the Bioshock pic right now, but I liked it previously so I imagine I'll still like it.

The old bad image is still up. I I were you I'd fast-track taht Bioshock image.
I TELL YOU HWAT!Uhmmm... Maybe the stroking of your pet in Black & White 2? [1]◊
"We are not a stuffy encyclopedic wiki. We're a buttload more informal".Yeah, it's good enough for me...if there aren't any strong objections before this time tomorrow I'll put it up.
We'd need to see the actual caring for it, or at least the potential.
EDIT: Switched out the pic on Fatal Frame.

Yeah, looking back, the still image isn't nearly as good as showing the trope. The player's hand is barely noticiable... :s Kinectimals has a similar mechanic though, which might be clearer: [1]◊
"We are not a stuffy encyclopedic wiki. We're a buttload more informal".That pic is certainly clearer... I don't see any hand or stroking in the previous pic at all, just a weretiger creature standing alone.

TWO GIRLS. Huh. Well, not that I can blame the OP but still, that got a small chuckle out of me.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.
Really, it's just two Japanese girls running away from ghosts. It doesn't demonstrate the trope in the least bit.
