Why cant I be a good soul in this crapsack world?
Dutch LesbianWell that's an easy choice.
Point that somewhere else, or I'll reengage the harmonic tachyon modulator.Die. We do not choose the world, but we can always choose our own actions.
If we disagree, that much, at least, we have in commonEvil.
people managed to raise family in Stalin USSR, Mao China, or D Ro Congo. survival for yourself and your family until situation change is primary priority. in most human history majority of people live in Crap Sack World anyway.
Situation will never change if all people choose to be evil
If we disagree, that much, at least, we have in commonExactly, thats why I would choose to be all nice and NCR like.
Dutch LesbianStay out of sight and do what little good I can, working within the system rather than trying to break it.
That's Feo . . . He's a disgusting, mysoginistic, paedophilic asshat who moonlights as a shitty writer—Something AwfulBe good until I die. And after I guess.
Why though did the OP only present the choice as evil or die? Does he believe that Humans Are Bastards in a crapsack world?
Dutch LesbianBut i guess you could be a pony, ponies are cool, just like Amon Amarth!
Oh, ponies are mean-tempered and stubborn, this one knows from experience.
Anyway, OP seem to ignore the whole range of behaviour between Martyr Without a Cause and outright evil mistreatment of fellow humans.
If we disagree, that much, at least, we have in commonYes, the choices are way too black and white to be plausible. Still, if, for whatever reason, I had only these two choices, I'd go with being evil.
The sin of silence when they should protest makes cowards of men.Define "evil."
^ Seconding this.
But if the choice is in fact "be evil, be a pony or die", then pony, natch.

"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."Heh, makes sense. If this world is really so crapsack that the only people able to live there are evil ones, let it burn! It's not like any innocent would be harmed.
"Let us cleanse this force with fire
Strike the fool who leads the liar
Let it all come crumbling down
Like the firebird from the ashes
We will rise to lead the masses
The strongest will emerge to wear the crown
Well, they say nothing grows
'Til the oak has hit the ground
So let's clear the way, my boys
And let the giant come crashing down"
Hmm, which leads this one to question about whether it is even possible to be evil in such a world. As "evil", by this one's definition, is harming an innocent. "Innocent", for the purpose of said definition, is someone who have not harmed other innocents nor is in process of attempting to do so. Those who do evil to innocents are fair game, and harming them is not evil. So, anyway, if the only two choices for such world are do evil or die, it means that at the certain point there would be no innocents left alive and thus it would be impossible to do evil.
If we disagree, that much, at least, we have in commonI find that reasoning incredibly frightening.
27And Abraham went early in the morning to the place where he had stood before the LORD. 28And he looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah and toward all the land of the valley, and he looked and, behold, the smoke of the land went up like the smoke of a furnace.
As mentioned in the Crapsack World entry, even being evil doesn't necessarily spare one from suffering and possibly dying. And if it's the immutable sort where the Powers That Be are unconquerable and the status quo is impossible to dislodge, dying sounds like a release. Assuming the afterlife isn't just an extension of it.

This one is reasonably sure that there were some innocents there. Again, this one is only going by binary situation OP described.
If we disagree, that much, at least, we have in common27Abraham answered and said, "Behold, I have undertaken to speak to the Lord, I who am but dust and ashes. 28Suppose five of the fifty righteous are lacking. Will you destroy the whole city for lack of five?" And he said, "I will not destroy it if I find forty-five there." 29Again he spoke to him and said, "Suppose forty are found there." He answered, "For the sake of forty I will not do it." 30Then he said, "Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak. Suppose thirty are found there." He answered, "I will not do it, if I find thirty there." 31He said, "Behold, I have undertaken to speak to the Lord. Suppose twenty are found there." He answered, "For the sake of twenty I will not destroy it." 32Then he said, "Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak again but this once. Suppose ten are found there." He answered, "For the sake of ten I will not destroy it." 33And the LORD went his way, when he had finished speaking to Abraham, and Abraham returned to his place.

Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text-Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The Staff@OP: Simple; be evil.
Well, this one explained her definition of evil. Obedience to Abrahamic god or lack thereof does not enter into it. So just because he considered them all guilty does not mean that this one would. For one, Abrahamic god couldn't care less whether another person was harmed.
If we disagree, that much, at least, we have in common
Chances are you are not the protagonist. Be evil or die. Decide.
