Yep Xan has the only useable Moonblade, this one is a MacGuffin only. He's also not in the second game save for the tutorial, though there's a mod that adds him. Kivan too but I prefer to think that Kivan moved on from the mortal plain after Tazok is almost but not quite killed for good. On that note, its interesting to see that there actually is a villain who gets raised from the dead after you kill him - twice!

My name is Addy. Please call me that instead of my username. So I decided to play this game again after a void in my gaming library. After some consideration, I decided to do a solo run on the hardest difficulty with a True Neutral human mage.
Either it's just me, or this game feels a lot easier than a few years ago. I'm having no problems on my own. So far I'm up to the maze under spellhold, and I'm level 19.
Two things: First, Mislead is ridiculously powerful, even without exploiting the fact that the invisibility NEVER FADES until the clone dies. Second: Skull trap is so, SO useful. It only got better when I hit level 18 and picked Improved Alacrity as my first feat. Imediately after resting, I proceeded to combine Improved Alacrity with Skull Trap to wipe out the entirety of the Cowled wizards in the city, just by slinging a bunch of skull traps their way.
Speaking of levels, I'm levelling up VERY fast. I'll probably reach the level cap before finishing the Shadows of Amn segment, but even with that I don't see how I'll manage to defeat the last few fights in Throne of Bhaal. We'll see when I get there, eh?
Now for my question: Does anyone else know what other classes can solo the entirety of the game? I'm thinking of going with mage/kensai next, in order to have mislead with strong melee abilities.
Finally started actually playing the game (BG 1) and I have a few questions:
How do I have conversations with my party members? All clicking them does is trigger a little quip
I'm playing on lowest difficulty. I should be safe knowing nothing about D&D, and (probably) using horrible builds, right?

"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Conversations initiate in their own time.
"You want to see how a human dies? At ramming speed." - Emily Wong.More questions (If there's a wiki, can someone please direct me? I couldn't find one.)
So, Jaheira keeps mumbling about "The party maybe doesn't need much help..." and... I'm not entirely sure what it means. What did I do to piss her off? I haven't been a colossal dick, and I haven't been too nice. And is she going to leave eventually unless I do something about it, or what?
I found Minsc, but I wasn't done with Xzar's quest, so I couldn't dump him or his buddy yet. So I sent Minsc to the Friendly Arm. Am I still on a time limit for his quest, or does that only apply when he's in the party?
Is there a mod that adds map markers for shops and inns, and quest locations, and stuff? Because I can't find a god damn thing.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Jaheira is True Neutral (due to the alignment restrictions for druids, even though she acts Neutral Good) and will whine if your karma gets too high. She won't leave, though.
The sin of silence when they should protest makes cowards of men.If Baldurs Gate were redone using 3e rules, Jaheira would totally be Neutral Good.
Home of CBR Rumbles-in-Exile: rumbles.fr.yuku.comSo I'm up to Chapter 3 and I'm in the Valley of the Tombs. I'm stuck on Narcillicus. Any tips on beating him? My party consists of Jaheira, Khalid, Minsc, Dynaheir and Imoen.
A fistful of me.Magical weapons are required, if it's who I think you mean. The ghoul who wants you to return the Dagger +2? He's worth 3k experience if you can beat him, falls to spells and also the two magical two handed swords (one you can get from a half ogre SE of Beregost, the other you'll pick up in the Spider's Lair of Cloakwood Forest, though that isn't until chapter 4.
My name is Addy. Please call me that instead of my username. It's alright. I shoved a Wand of Fire up his ass and that worked pretty fine.
I do have a question about Mulahey's Holy Symbol, though. I left it behind when I cleared the Nashkel Mines, since I thought it would just be some Vendor Trash. I kept Basillicus' Holy Symbol, though, and I know that I'm supposed to give it to someone. Does Mulahey's Holy Symbol have any purpose? I already spoke to Berrun Ghastkill and he gave me my reward and left.
EDIT: Narcillicus is the dude who summons the oozes.

A fistful of me.Give the holy symbol to the guy in the temple - you get a very nice reward for it. Don't ignore it!
My name is Addy. Please call me that instead of my username. There's seldom little literal vendor trash in Baldurs Gate. Usually, when a nonstandard item drops off an enemy, it has some purpose somewhere.
There are a few exceptions, some kinds of gems for instance, but it's very rare. (and you never know when you might need 'em for a quest or crafting a weapon anyway...)

If you want any of my avatars, just Pm me I'd truly appreciate any avatar of a reptile sleeping in a Nice Hat Read Elmer Kelton booksbumping thread pretty much just to ask:
so i (yes this will be a long, roundabout, anecdotal way of asking) came back to the first game after like....an unspecified number of months of ignoring it since i reached endgame and who cares after reaching that point- but anyway, was at end game, and i realised im...kind of underleveled for this. so i was gonna go around baldurs gate doing sidequests yadda yadda yadda but then i just sorta lost interest in job hunting and just...charged ahead into the maze (which is NOT a maze from the looks of it).
i died. obviously. so anyway i was thinking of restarting the game and importing my endgame character (and about 2/3 of the magic equipment) and i started thinking: they cant possibly be letting me do this...right? i mean, it seems kinda...gamebreaking to let an endgame character return to the start with the same level, stats and inventory.
so does anyone know what the drawbacks are?
So is Enchanted edition good?
Now that it's been patched to hell and back, yes. Major issues when it first came out, but 5 big patches in the first week solved a lot of the issues, and added new features. A couple of weeks ago the had about 100 fixes (I kid you not) in just one patch, and there's another biggie coming up in the near future.
The new quests are awful/seemingly half-finished, but the characters themselves are good. A Wild Mage is risky, but fun and interesting. The Monk is a bit bad for this game, though if he makes it into BG 2: EE, he will be badass. Haven't played with either of the two evil characters, but one is Drow, and the other is essentially an evil Paladin.
Must be around 600 bug fixes by now, and the modding teams are making things compatable. The likes of Shadowkeeper works fine (with a bit of fiddling about anyway) and there are plenty of new mods being created for it.
The fixes include new features and items - things like gem bags, scroll cases, new weapons and spells, etc. Very handy, very interesting.
I recommend it, though may be best to check things like the fix logs and new item lists to see if it's worth it. Forums here: http://forum.baldursgate.com/

-puts all of imoens points into lockpick-
-fails to lockpick ANY of the locks in friendly arms inn-
what the fuck?
ive unlocked half of these locks while shes still at level 1 before!

The Friendly Arms Inn has some really good locked away in some chests. The point is for you to come back later, when you're all leveled up, so you can pick the locks and get them. Maybe you're remembering which chests you picked wrong?
Also, as long as you're at the FAI, put the cursor at x = 2552, y = 3760 (press L to bring up mouse coordinates). Note: it is in a tree, or at least I remember it to be. Anyways, it's outside.

If you want any of my avatars, just Pm me I'd truly appreciate any avatar of a reptile sleeping in a Nice Hat Read Elmer Kelton booksOkay I played BG:EE and probably will go for BG2:EE as a Pally... Then I just realized one thing.
I got my intelligence score as 7. Meaning... I'm DUMBER than Minsc.
Maybe I should use EEKeeper to... boost this up a bit?
Also another more important thing to ask here:
Right now my mindset is that I only value a mage only based on their ability to cast direct damage spells, and priests doing healings and buffs. I've heard about 'Sequencer' combos, but can't seem to get it right. Can anyone teach me about what to do on mages and priests along with the Sequencer combos? They say I could buff up Aerie for that, but I don't know how... Help?
Okay, finally started plaoying the damned thing. It's... well, as advertised, it's a World of Ham. But, mostly, it's so BORING. Maybe it's the Seinfeldis Unfunny effect, but I can't help but comape it to Dragon Age Origins, and the comparison is unfavourable.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Baldur's Gate 2 was much better than the first, particularly the xpac. Throne of Bhaal rocks.
I always hear people say that, but I've never gotten that far into it, and (because I'm weird) I always have to start playing with BG 1 before I can move on (like, you probably wouldn't believe the number of times I've played Mass Effect almost solely to get to the sequel). By consequence I've played BG 1 all the way through *twice* without having even really made it out of Athlanka in the sequel (which is a shame because I really enjoy BG 1 and the bit I've played in BG 2 before being distracted by other games). I'm hoping my current playthrough I can stick with it.
That's not a picture of me, just a very fancy horse.
In Suldanessellar, you need the Cup, Moonblade and Amulet to create the avatar of Rillifane.
