British Actors Who Would've Been Great In Harry Potter

People like to think the films have all the good British actors, when in fact they do not,...

So who are some great actors who never made it into any of the eight films.

First off,Liam Neeson.

And considering the age Snape was supposed to be and his great quiet voice that can change,Liam Neeson easily could've been Snape Really his performance as Ra's Al Ghul proves he could be cold, murderous looking, and effective all at once And if you saw the death of Qui-Gonn he totally could've pulled off Book 7

Nothing against Alan Rickman though who was fantastic and iconic.

Tim Roth was originally gonna be Snape, but declined it for a role in PlanetOfTheApes still I bet could've made a good Death Eater.

And Ian Mc Kellan would've been the best Dumbledore ever, not too Sacchrine-He's-Hiding-Something-Santa Claus Richard Harris nor too Angry-Genius Ditz Michael Gambon. Just look at Gandalf and you'll see.

Oh and Orlando Bloom could've been Ludo Bagman

As for actresses,C'mon Helen Mirren totally looks more like Umbridge

Who are some other Cream-Of-The-Crop British Actors who never got in?

I always imagined Sirius Black as being played by Jason Statham. Statham is a Your Mileage May Vary case but I didn't find Oldman intimidating enough.

I've never imagined Sirius as being particularly intimidating, just more dark and unnerving in his initial appearances.

Mc Kellan has been quite vocal about never doing the role, so it would never have been him. Alot of Harris's fans wanted Peter O'Toole to do it, but the execs feared he'd not last long enough (which has proven to be wrong, but hindsight is 20/20.

As for actors who could have been part of HP, there is Patrick Stewart. He could have done damn near ANY of the older adult roles. Dumbledore, Mad-Eye, Crouch, etc.

Jeremy Irons would have been good in the series as well.

I think it's a shame Christopher Lee was never in any of the films, though admittedly, I'm not sure which character he would have been suited to play. His voice is a tad too intimidating for the role of Dumbledore and he's a tad too old to be Voldemort. Maybe he could've played the aged Grindelwald if that had been a larger role.

Anthony Hopkins would have made an awesome Dumbledore.

I think Gary Oldman didn't look enough like Cesare.

Jonathan Pryce as Cornelius Fudge?

James Nesbitt as Barty Crouch junior?

Liam Neeson as Remus Lupin?

[up] Isn't Jonathan Pryce rather tall and thin, though? Fudge seems like he should be squat, which Robert Hardy is.

A bit of fancy camerawork can take care of that. Robbie Coltrane isn't really the height of two men, after all.

Jeremy Irons as Lucius Malfoy?

It actually surprised me that Colin Firth or Michael Caine never ended up in a Harry Potter movie, but I can't really think of a character either of them would be suited to play.

I would've liked Christopher Lee as Dumbledore. He even said in an interview after Richard Harris' death that he would probably take the role if he was asked. Can't find a link to the interview, as it was in a magazine I read back in '03.

Also Patrick Stewart. As anybody. Because he's Patrick Fucking Stewart.

On a less silly note, Derek Jacobi would also have made a good Dumbledore.

I realize she’s retired from acting and all but I still would have liked to have seen Glenda Jackson in there in some capacity.

Well, if Ian Mc Kellen wouldn't be Dumbledore then Derek Jacobi would have been just as awesome.

But... Hugh Laurie as Sirius? I think he could have pulled it off.

Definitely about Matt Smith- perhaps he could dye his hair to play Bill or Charlie?

Pity that David Tennant was actually in Harry Potter so the two couldn't share screen time in this 'version' of the movies. sad
