Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! I'm editing this OP and pinning it to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.

Maybe they'll pull The Other Darrin or maybe they'll say "they just have the same name but aren't the same person".
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Other Darrin would be reasonable if the staff of one remains the same
Was the character named in Doctor Strange?
Not in the movie, only in the prequel comic. And those comics have already been contradicted, so I wouldn't consider them canon.
They have been contradicted to often that I don't even use them for my timeline.
I forget did the Staff of One actually show up in the movie?
In a blink and you miss it moment
Forever liveblogging the AvengersIt looked like the Staff of One, but they never referred to it as such, so it probably doesn't matter.
Test screening for Guardians 2 went extremely well, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
It's not, but it is nevertheless reassuring.
Infinity War featurette
Rocket and Thor!
I wonder if that first part confirms Iron Man, Spidey and Starlord having scenes, just the three of them.
Cause that's a fun trio no matter how you slice it.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Maybe they'll attend to that problem of having the one-liner kings of the MCU in the same room together by just having them in an all-out snark-on-snark battle royale where they just all rag on each other continuously until they've got it all out of their systems (except not really). But that's be cathartic, and could work in the sense of being self-aware, which those characters definitely should be.
Now if only Deadpool could show up as well...
Someone pointed out that Thor does not appear to be using Mjolnir in that pic. Maybe he gets his axe in Ragnarok?
I know it won't happen, but I'd like to have Lady Thor played by Gwendoline Christie and then have it revealed somewhere down the line that she's Jane Foster, at which point Natalie Portman would make a small appearance. Nothing against Natalie Portman. Just know she doesn't like playing Jane Foster and Lady Thor is a good way to have the character but not the actress. And who doesn't want to see Gwendoline Christie in more stuff?
I am 100 percent behind this idea.
Me, too.
I could dig it too, though supposedly Portman's lightened up somewhat towards returning as Jane. Just as long as they get Christie to chill on some of her Narmier shrieking.
That is a perfect idea. Gwendoline Christie would make a great Lady Thor.
Trust you? The only person I can trust is myself.Since the wormhole didn't work out, I'm guessing Thanos is taking the long way 'round to get here. You know what I'd like to see? A shot of one of the Voyager probes hurtling out into interstellar space... and passing Thanos' armada going in the opposite direction.
Wasn't that the opening scene of Fantastic Four Rise of the Silver Surfer?
I honestly have no idea; I never watched any of the FF movies.
Concept art for Thor: Ragnarok and Black Panther. First look at Hela and Wakanda.
The Pride have been cast. Interestingly, Tina Minoru is there, but played by a completely different actress than the one who played her in Doctor Strange.
