A Game of Gods: Infinities

Xigbar nodded, unmindful of the nickname, responded, "I heard alright Doc. Hey, once this is all over, do you think we could find a way to head to your universe? I don't think I'll be needed where I'm from. Besides, I don't think I would be allowed back in my universe even if I die during the challenges."

"Oh...so the way you're reacting it must be worse than waking up a demon and having him suck all the power out of you..."said Matt, he didn't seem that mich broken up until he said "the worst part of that was losing all my swords..."

Shotaro was about to confort Fluttershy, but suddenly he heard a voice boom in his head.

"HEH, I GUESS I FOUND MYSELF A PUNCHING BAG..." The voice said. Shotaro realized who that voice was, but he couldn't stop him in time. Shotaro jerked around until he stopped. Now Shotaro had messy hair and pointy teeth. He took off his hat and dropped it onto the floor.

"XIGBAR... SHALL I CALL YOU XIGGY? XIGGY SOUNDS LIKE THE PERFECT NAME FOR A CHEW TOY!" 'Shotaro' said, smirking.

Xigbar looked affronted, a rare first for him, at the boy's bizarre analogy. "I don't know what that's supposed to mean, but it sounds stupid. Despairing over lost equipment? Wow...j-just stop talking please." he replied, having a headache forming from his response.

Looking over at the man with the hat wearily, Xigbar mutters, "This day has to be getting worse for me. Hey Doc, do you know any good healing abilities? I have the feeling I'm gonna need it."

The Doctor shakes his head back and forth. "I'm Not That Kind of Doctor man."

He chuckles. "Well Rey and...Saren and the others used to hang out in my universe...I'm fine taking up refugees from their own universes."

"Hey! Those weren't ordinary swords, you know how long it took to find them!"

Than suddenly, the voice took over Shotaro...though to Matt, it just seemed like him being an asshole despite the change of appearance. "Hey, that's just mean!"

"Well I tried. I'm so screwed now. I could try to defend myself but I don't think he's gonna let me." He replied to the Doctor, feeling worried that he's forced to fight when he doesn't want to.

Violet was lost. Not that she would admit it. Being lost was something that happened to other people. She just... didn't know where she was. Plus, her stupid Pip-boy was on the fritz. The map function wouldn't work and whenever she tried the radio all she got was static. That was to be expected, really. She was a long way from home. Idly, she wondered how the hell someone could manage to hide a castle so well. But the city seemed like a big place, so it wasn't that much of a stretch.

She heard voices. New ones. Other captives, stuck here just like she was? Only one way to find out. She walked towards them, her stride confident. Now this, this was an odd bunch. Eyepatch Man, a fellow with mussed-up hair and a bowtie, a kid with a fancy hat, a man who appeared to be carrying... swords? Who used swords anymore? Aside from old Chinese remnants and raiders, anyway.

The oddest among them, though, had to be the horse. Violet had never seen a horse in her life. She'd seen pictures of them and she'd seen the ads for those old Giddy-up Butercup toys around the Wasteland. She did, however, know that horses were not supposed to look like that. It looked like something out of a drawing. Bright yellow coat, a pink mane that seemed like human hair, what looked like a tattoo depicting three butterfluies on its rear. Oh, and the wings. She was pretty sure that horses weren't supposed to have wings.

Despite these oddities, she approached them, her wide smile hidden by the opaque visor. "Hey hey." She greeted, waving a hand. "Guess you guys're trapped here too, huh?"

Xigbar noticed the girl come up and quickly ran to her, completely forgetting about his abilities at the moment, he franticly shouts," Help! He's gonna murder me!"

"HENSHIN!" Dubix said as the Joker Memory sprung out from his body and the Lost Driver materialized on his waist. However, he grabbed the Joker Memory at the last second.

"Why do you want to beat him up?" Shotaro's mind told Dubix.

"HE MADE FLUTTERSHY CRY. ALSO, LOOK AT ALL THE CRIMES HE COMMITTED. ISN'T YOUR CATCHPHRASE "COUNT UP YOUR CRIMES"?" Dubix asked.

"Yeah... but you shouldn't downright kill him! He's on our side! And remember, you still have your crimes to count up!" Shotaro said. After a while, Dubix growled.

"YOU'RE LUCKY, XIGGY." Dubix said. He then jerked back to normal Shotaro. He then picked up his hat and placed it on his head.

"... I'm sorry that had to happen. It seems I still need to... tame that beast inside." Shotaro said.

Xigbar skidded to a halt when he heard the hat-boy stop and explain himself. "Okay. I'm fine for now?" he hesitantly asks, unsure if this guy would hurt him regardless.

Violet just stood there, hand hovering over her shotgun. Eventually, she spoke. "Okay... I'm still kind of in the dark about this whole thing, so I'd like some to tell me. What just happened?"

"Yeah, you're fine... Sorry about that. I don't know why Dubix snapped like that. I'll... I'll have to confront him later on." Shotaro said. He then turned to Violet.

"Well... In one world, a being by the name of Megatron brainwashed me and turned me into a mindless slave who kills in the name of justice. I snapped out of it, but my brainwashed persona gave itself a new form. It lives in my mind now, ready to take over me when it needs it. I thought I tamed him in that rock and roll place, but it seems not." Shotaro said.

Xigbar looked over to the girl who had her hand on her weapon and replied, "Basically, Doc, Shepard and I were trading dark histoical information. Fluttershy, the pegasus, wasn't very happy when she heard and simply had a freak out moment. Hat-boy was apparently possessed by his alter-ego and almost tried to kill me before Hat-boy stopped him."

Violet let her hand drop to her side. She raised her other arm, palm outward, and turned her head towards the ground. "Okay. That. What you just said there. That makes even less sense than what I just saw. I got here about five minutes ago, I only just got an explanation for this bullshit. Don't go piling more of it on me."

Xigbar had the decency to look sheepish and responded, "Sorry about that, I didn't even hear what he said. Oh well." He walked away from her over towards the Doctor, yet still maintaining his distance from Fluttershy, lest he invoke her emotional wrath.

"So... you're new? Doc, tell her what's going on." Shotaro said to the Doctor. He then tended to Fluttershy.

"Don't worry, Mr. Scary Vehicon is gone for now..." Shotaro said.

The Doctor explains to Violet all he knows about the Celestials and other games and the challenge system and the like.

Xigbar looked away from the group and walked away, having heard the explanation one too many times already. In his mind, a debate with himself raged as he mulled over what he did not too long ago. How did that happen? I never intended on sharing anything I knew about my universe, yet I blabbed just about everything to them. Was this about my redemption? To share my story, knowing full well I could get killed for saying anything? This doesn't make sense.

All of this information earned yet another blank stare from Violet. This was... surprising to say the least. Far from home, limited ammo, no access to her usual arsenal back in Megaton, facing beings that would make even a Behemoth wet itself and run.

She could handle that. It'd be tough, sure, but she had her guns at her side and there seemed to be plenty of help on hand. And dammit that was all she needed. "Okay." She finally responded. "I already knew some of that stuff but okay." A beat. "Oh, forgot to introduce myself. Violet Gramme, Knight of the Brotherhood of Steel." She thrust her hand out towards the man. She really wished there was a way to shorten that title, but there were so many positions within the Brotherhood and she didn't look like any of them. Besides, it was a nice title and she liked showing it off.

Nothing wrong with showing off.

When Mehir and Matt arrived at the scene, he sat down near a wall, listening to the conversation but not saying anything. He, too, had his own dark secret, though the Doctor knew that one - how he slaughtered his Kharosan allies just to get a piece of the Sun Ray and go home...

Finally, he got up. "Hail, knight Gramme," he said, bowing. "I am Mehir, the Last Summoner."
He paused and turned, looking at each of the others' eyes. "We all committed atrocious deeds in the past, it seems," he said, "but there's naught we can do. Even though what I did was irredeemable - I slaughtered the Kharos just to get home - I refuse to bow down to misery. One does what one must, no matter the cost... And I was responsible for my soldiers." He stopped and sighed; his face looked sad beyond his young years.

Snake Eyes watched impassively. Genocide, fainting ponies, knights.
He did however, tilt his head at the mention of Megatron, obviously knowing of his existence. Who hadn't hears of Megatron, leader of the Decepticons and enemy of the Autobots? But Megatron was dead. Could you meet dead people here?

"What a troublesome mess I'm in. After all the things I've been through, I've gone and made things worse for myself. I can't even apologize for what happened either, but it's all behind me now. Besides, if Sora ever heard what I was saying about redemption, I'd never hear the end of it." Xigbar spoke to himself, making sure no one nearby heard him. He gazed over to where the new girl was, and had an expression of uncertainty from having revealed his rather dark past. "So much for first impressions." he mutters irritably before moving to another location. Preferably much higher than anyone.

Fluttershy stopped crying when Dubix hijacked Shotaro's body again. She at first fretted and was about to warn everyone, but Shotaro managed to keep the dictator induced split personality at bay. She sighed in relief.

Though still sad, the pegasus was at least calm enough to stop crying. The first thing she did was to trotted up to Matt. "I'm a pony," she said to him, "not a horse." Despite her soft voice, it was clear that being called a horse insulted her.
