Unsurprising, no-one lasts that long on that cocktail of drink, drugs and stress...What a waste of human flesh.

"Saner". That doesn't make us completely sane.
Well, I knew she had problems, but I wasn't expecting it go down this soon at least.
I don't suppose this would have any effect on the music she made, would it?

Somehow this one-month-old bit of news managed to skyrocket to being one of today's most viewed articles on BBC.

Cue media furore.
I'd like to think people are mourning both.
Don't you know? News of major celebrity dying > News of normal people dying. At least outside Scandinavia.

It's the law of column inches.
News of one big name is more important than news of several smaller/unknown names.
Prettier > uglier.
Shooting star > steady worker
etc.
Sad, but I am not really surprised. This was the same person that sand "Rehab" after all. I don't think it'll receive that much coverage here in the States. We have other issues like the debt ceiling and what not, and the news has been pretty good about covering that. Plus, she isn't as big here.

Amy Winehouse > attacks in Norway > famine in Somalia.
Well. That's mildly disconcerting.
Scepticism and doubt lead to study and investigation, and investigation is the beginning of wisdom. - Clarence DarrowWell, it's a pity that she died, but its only her's, and nobody else's, fault that she didn't go to the rehab when prompted to.
The sin of silence when they should protest makes cowards of men.I remember several years ago on a train, there were a bunch of guys (musicians I think) who were talking about music concerts to go to and one of them said that they should go see Amy Winehouse before she implodes. If the entire world and their train carriage could have seen this coming, just how useless must all of the people around her been?
You can't help someone who won't let you help them.
Yeah, the most important part of drug recovery is that the patient wants it, wants it more than the drugs. If the patient doesn't want it badly, then you're not going to make much headway at all.

The emotions of others can seem like such well guarded mysteries, people 8egin to 8elieve that's how their own emotions should 8e treated.Wasn't her Dad trying to capitalize on her fame at some point?
More outpouring of twitter sympathy than the entire nation of Japan. Not to shabby at 27.
(Wait, I'm 27. ...now I'm really depressed)
I'm a skeptical squirrelLocking this up as it's a complete mass of off-topic.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.
At least we on TV Tropes are the 'saner' side of popular culture.
...
Oh dear god. Most British tropers aren't back from work until a few hours from now.
We're doomed.
