Finally finished the game
The final boss is ridiculously hard. I eventually lost patience and just hacked maximum HP to some high number (which also causes current HP to start at that amount when starting a dungeon).
It has a certain pattern to it, but good thing this game doesn't have a hard mode. For the Showdown fight, you must let the flaming carousel spin and then you jump to avoid, all the while getting away from the Bomb Train, because they explode on their own
The fight would've been a lot harder if it weren't for the fact that they drop KFCs
As for the Final Battle fight, don't run too much lest you run out of places to dodge. In other news, to get the hidden treasure for THIS specific fight, get hit by the fireball up to 3 times, while standing only on the magic circle on the floor you start with

What profit is it to a man, when he gains his money, but loses his internet? Anonymous 16:26 I believe...I find Chante's sleep talking even more adorable
"Mmmhh.... shins..... bring it...."
What profit is it to a man, when he gains his money, but loses his internet? Anonymous 16:26 I believe...Hmm, gonna get this when I get back to Britain I think...
The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books.I finally beat the game... the last boss is tough.
...Well, the final form was actually kinda easy though.
Helpful Scripts and Stylesheets here.So whats with Japanese indie games usually being mainly featuring cute girls as characters? o-o Not that there is anything wrong with it, just wondering .-.
Another reason might be the proportion of mainline titles starring Beefface McGrizzleddude .
Or the fact that overly cute characters are low on anatomical details, which is easier for not-quite-pro artists.
Hmm, yeah, but I'm still wondering about the girl part .-. But yeah, kawaaiko thing might explain it, but sometimes it gets kind of creepy to me when I think about it...
^^In Japan?
Some other ideas for why J-Indie games use cute girls so often:
1) The absolute most successful Japanese indie series over there is Touhou Project (which has been using cute girls for a long while) so a fair chunk of Follow the Leader could be in play.
2) J-Indie titles often look to appeal entirely to Japan for their target market. Inserting more grittiness and testosterone to appeal to Western gamers isn't part of that equation as it may be for AAA Japanese titles.
3) The J-Indie genre sells the most titles at Comiket which is filled with the 18-35 year old male otaku demographic. Seinen anime/manga is more likely to feature cute girls than Shōnen so a similar trend likely exists. As for the why of this point? The most prevalent theory I've heard is that this otaku group feels threatened by the world so they gravitate towards things that seem non-threatening such as cutely drawn anime girls.
and that's how Equestria was made!Ok, anyone figured out how the HECK can one find those damn treasure chests??
What profit is it to a man, when he gains his money, but loses his internet? Anonymous 16:26 I believe...There's a YouTube series here on how to find the treasures in Chantelise.

Thanks a ton! I couldn't find it using You Tube's own search
What profit is it to a man, when he gains his money, but loses his internet? Anonymous 16:26 I believe...Took me a little bit to figure out how to find the Forest of Recollection after beating the Sealed Palace.
Turns out you go to the stump in the Familiar Forest and trigger a scene. Then you can enter the Forest of Recollection through the red mark on the map.
and that's how Equestria was made! There's an interview with SpaceDrake up on Rock, Paper, Shotgun, in which Chantelise and Fortune Summoners are discussed.
Nice read! Thanks for the tip.
Fix patch is up. Look at Carpe Fulgur site or forum to download it
What profit is it to a man, when he gains his money, but loses his internet? Anonymous 16:26 I believe...I'm actually a bit surprised that some people dislike the difficulty of Chantelise. In terms of difficulty, for a J-Indie game, Chantelise is actually on the easier side of things. I wonder what those people would think if they played Touhou Project, Bunny Must Die, Rosenkreuzstilette, or La-Mulana.
and that's how Equestria was made!I think it's that the game has a more uneven difficulty. Common skill-gates for this game appear to be the first two bosses, then the last boss. There may be a problem in inadequately preparing the player to face off against bosses in general for those who don't have much experience with this sort of game. A tutorial for how to dodge boss attacks may've been needed.
Helpful Scripts and Stylesheets here.As sad as it sounds, I WTF'd when I learned that there was no Level Grinding, and you had to buy your stat upgrades.
Still, beating the Volcanicrab made me feel Really Damn Accomplished.
I am become Death, Destroyer of Miniputts.
I'm not saying Ihad to, I'm saying that running through hordes ofnenemies tended to kill me before I evensaw the boss.
In other news, GEC is down. Yayz.
