In the OVA, Felicia had some decent screentime with L. Raptor and Jon Taliban, but that was it. Most of it was focused on Morrigan... and then... Donovan stole the show for no reason.
Quest 64 threadDS was never very popular, although it has a high reputation. Amazing that Morrigan and Felicia have been keepin' the faith for so long.
Except [condescending response follows]. Because [sarcasm here]. You do understand [snark], right? POTHOLE TO SARCASM MODEBoobs can do a lot of things to gamers.
It's more frustrating waiting for the asskicking than the asskicking itself.Raise your hand if you want to see a live action Felicia and Morrigan.

That's a big part of it, though: the Darkstalkers cast is what carried the game in its fanbase's minds more than the gameplay itself, which was more or less copied over for Street Fighter Alpha 3 and expanded on in the versus games. I've still never seen a cast I almost universally like as much as Vampire Savior's.
That being said, Darkstalkers was pretty polished, not to mention that stuff like EX Moves and air blocking first showed up there.
And chain combos first appeared here as well, setting the ground work for Capcom Vs Whatever, Arc System Works fighters, Melty Blood and several others of this type.

Watch SymphogearIf I'm not mistake, Morrigan was also the first character to use 'lp lp => lk hp' as a move as well.

Yup, her Darkness Illusion was the first move to have the input commonly associated with the Shun Goku Satsu. Better track record of it actually doing something to her opponent, too.
The one thing Darkstalkers did that few games since have bothered with was the character specific move reactions. You had your Midnight Blisses:
Raptor's Hell Dunk, and Jedah's exploding gut grab, off the top of my head.
^ And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why Dimitry was not allowed into MVC 3.
Anyways, did he turn Lillith into a boy?
I like how he turns Felicia into an even SEXIER version. You could tell she was enjoying being lifted up by her tail.
So he genderbends you, and then melts your skin off? O_o
And why did Morrigan look like she enjoyed it?
Because Morrigan's a Succubus. Why wouldn't she?
Bah, they can take off the bloody parts. Fanservice isn't an excuse.
Quest 64 threadBecause she enjoys anything. Pleasure or pain, it's all pleasure for her. She'll literally die from boredom if she can't stay entertained.
He was actually transforming most of them into sexified girls and draining their blood.
You missed my point, but I'm at fault for not making it more apparent: They'd have to create a new model for each and every character for it to work. Way too much space taken up on the game disc to support any of that.

She's a Succubus. She probably gets off on far worse than a little blood draining
Yeah, the MB and the other character specific moves will be a hurdle to climb for a 3D Darkstalkers: if they half-ass or cut them out fans'll riot, but that's a lot of alternate models to make just for a handful of moves....
Slow Hashil is fuckin' slow....

I liked that about Dimitri: yeah, he's spinning fanservice out of the cast, but he's not doing it for your benefit.
That said, as was Capcom's MO back in the 90's with their fighting games, the blood was censored in international releases. Censored by painting any and all red liquids white.
It... didn't always work as intended.
No, that was bloody obvious to me. I knew of that reason. It's the others that interested me.
It's why he's one of my favorite Darkstalkers. He does the Fanservice idea just right.

Quest 64 threadI don't see how Midnight Bliss would be that big of a deal. Wouldn't it take up less space than, say, an alt costume set?
Creating texture for 3-dimensional texture of a full roster of 20 characters takes up much more space than an alternate costume pack for 6 characters.

All of SFIV's alts were already on the disc, though...
But none of them required creating a new model. Turning a giant hulking robot into a little girl goes a bit more than retexturing the original model.
You wouldn't need all of the stuff for the new models, either. Just a few frames worth...
The alts did more than re-texturing, too. Some of them, Akuma in particular, had things added or removed from the model itself.

Zero, you don't understand, though. It takes a lot of work to made new character models. It's easy to do with sprites, but models are much more difficult.
Demitri isn't going to appear unless it's a smaller game or use sprites specifically. It's just too hard for them to do.(and likewise, it'd take more than the amount of time it took to make Ultimate as is)
Quest 64 thread
I will admit I would watch a Darkstlkers movie, over and over and over again, if Morrigan and Felicia's character designs went unchanged in the crossover to live action. Especially if the movie focuses of Felicia for any extended period of time...
@Hylarn: Yeah I play it. Its fun as hell. You just don't hear about people playing it because there hasn't been a new title in forever.
