I'm so sorry that my avatar doesn't appear fully in the shot, but the cat was threatening the photographer.Boooooooooooo
Try harder!
I really want to see an album or EP written and performed by Adam Duritz and John Darnielle. I'd also like to see The Darkness work with Jim Steinman.
Less seriously, I want to see Dave Grohl and David Bowie make a rap album called Word of Dave.

Genre: Progress/technical/melodic death metal. Ideally it would sound something akin to a mixture of Revenant's scything riffs, the brooding streams of melody found in Cartilage and first album Eucharist, and have the floaty, jazz-inflected rhythms of Masada.
Vocals: Jason Thomposn from Runes of the Evening. Having already sung in a meloblack band himself, his open-throat growl will more or less have a lot of room to manoeuvre over the primarily tremolo based attack.
Guitarist 1: Thomas Pioli of Thevetat and Ceremonium. Chosen in this case for the gorgeous lead melodies he was pulling out while in the latter, in particular on No Longer Silent but as the former has shown he's no slouch when it comes to jagged, raw rhythms which he contrasts skillfully with slightly blackened melodies in Thevetat. Experience with doomier metal will also help grant some much needed weightiness to this style. He is a fairly good growler on top of all of this as well.
Guitarist 2: Ciaran Mc Closkey of Vex. The stuff he's done has been comparatively less pugilistic than Thomas' but he excels in writing smooth, clean Dissection/Eucharist style melodies with a slight folk sensibility. On Memorious he took that folk sensibility further and created a notably more spacious, vast sound. That will presumably prove quite useful for helping to contrast the more condensed tremolo-picking centric sections. Of the two I believe he will have a bit more lead flair.
Bassist: Whoever it was that was playing on Wicked Innocence's Omnipotence. Man's able to put bass lines more or less anywhere and while the style he plays in is pretty different from everyone else's, he has a very prominent but surprsingly not really jazzy style of playing. Able to weave a variety of strong accents and counter-melodies around a variety of bizarre riff shapes, adapting to this band's style presumably wouldn't be a very big problem for him given how notably more technical Wicked Innocence were.
Drummer: Craig Smilowski, ex-Masada, ex-Immolation, currently in Rellik. While more than capable of playing the faster, more aggressive style associated with death metal, here I'm hoping to hear more of the atmosphere enhancing, semi minimalistic, tension-and-release based drumming style he's shown he's capable of on Masada. A lot of odd syncopation and floating beats will hopefully create a very wide framework for the melodies to whirl around in.
