That's it, I think.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. We sure that blog isn't bait? An attempt to make it seem like one character is going to win so they can "surprise" us with the result? It's the kind of thing a lot of Internet shows would do.
No idea. I never watched more than a couple episodes of Inuyasha, so I don't have a great measuring stick for how powerful any of the cast are.
Ripped from the DB trivia tab:
Interesting. I'll note that a couple of those are among the more shoddily researched battles. Which makes me think the problem is less with the research itself, and more with the people running the show either not listening to the researchers, deciding they knew better, or ignoring it all in pursuit of surprise.
It's certainly eye opening, I'll agree.
Can I assume those would be "Batman vs. Captain America", "Toph vs. Gaara", and "Kirby vs. Buu"?
One of my CAD (Computer Aided Design) friends always says this whenever I bring up Death Battle (or anything he hates, really): "Death Battle is for quitters" (Replace the words "Death Battle" with anything he hates. Another thing he loathes is Superman)
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!At the end of the day, opinions are just that. I'm guessing Chad and Ben disagreed from their researchers on a few key points when deciding match results.
That said, I find it amusing that the researchers' opinions were split on both Deadpool/Deathstroke (a very predictable result) and Kirby/Buu (a match which still brings controversy). The actual reception to these matches have been night and day.
I'm also struggling to think how they unanimously thought Ryu would win. Scorpion is a ghost that keeps coming back from hell.

Destructive capacity, simple as that.
Watch SymphogearAdmittedly, even Death Battle's own wrap-up did a poor job of justifying why Scorpion would win that fight, and their initial research didn't favor Scorpion that much.
While Scorpion does have additional skills and powers, he ultimately isn't generally that much stronger than he was before being empowered, and when it comes to power output and ability Ryu had him beat. They likely weren't banking on a "when in this place he gets a vague but supposedly unbeatable powerup" (or any of the liberties they gave to Ryu's abilities).

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. It's hard to gauge exactly how strong Mortal Kombat characters are, even against each other. Canonically, Johnny Cage beat an Elder God, and Jax beat Quan Chi with one punch, and that's just the most recent game.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyIt's up for Advantage members.
Now, please be courteous for everyone else and spoiler if you must speak of it.
Welp, chalk that up as 4-1 for Marvel vs. DC... dammit I wanted Lex to win! He went up against Brainiac just fine and that should say something! Oh well. Also, Beast vs. Goliath (first Disney combatant) next. Go Keith David!
I mean originally Disney

I now go by Graf von Tirol....how did Tony win?!
Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!Technically all the Marvel and Star Wars characters are Disney now...
I'd say I'm surprised, but I'm not.

Thanks for the spoiler.
I have a message from another time...Sorry. Thought I'd spoilered that. Have now edited.
Thank you.
I have a message from another time...No problem. Again, apologies.
I wish I could say I was surprised about this, but as I've said before, DB seems less and less interested in analyzing things, and more and more interested in "surprising" the audience with the outcome. And what could be a better "surprise" than a Superman villain losing to one of the most ridiculously popular Marvel characters?

I'm starting to agree
The leaked footage, the researchers saying Lex would win, etc, it's all starting to feel like baiting the audience to me. "Look, it's so obvious this guy will win...sudden swerve! Did we getcha?"
So . . .
Anyone care to spoil the wrap-up? Please?

Seconded. We can't start taking apart the result until we have all the info.
X7 I don't know if its the same thing you're thinking about, but I remember reading a short thing about a cult using the State Farm jingle to summon agents for sacrificial purposes. One of them escapes and calls the Mayhem dude to get vengeance.
