Ricky's most defining characteristic is his insane ability to absorb punishment. I think Mick Foley would make a better opponent, personally.

I also kinda wanna see Darth Vader vs. Azula...both being The Dragon to an evil Emperor/Fire Lord.

Probably Vader. While he's vulnerable to lightning, he can deflect it with his saber, and Azula has no defense against force choke.

Plus, firebending is based on breath control, so a force choke would leave her absolutely helpless.

Really she's got no defense against most things he can do with the force. Like snap her neck or crush her heart.

the main reason why I suggested that is because I really hate Azula.

I wonder if Nero would have been a better match for Ragna than Sol was, considering that both are rough, often tossed around not-quite-human protags with weird arms and weirder swords.

Breath control, yes, but recall that Zuko was able to use firebending to melt ice while he was underwater.

I think the whole "from the breath" is at least partly metaphor.

Still does Azula no good when Vader just crushes her windpipe with the force.

Breath control in the sense of controlling the balance in and out of your body along your breath. Not necessarily in actually having to breathe to do it. It's both a physical and spiritual/symbolic thing.

Abruptly having one's windpipe closed off by the force would probably screw up both. While a force choked Firebender would still be able to firebend, I imagine it would be like how being unfocused negatively effects making lightning. They wouldn't be at 100%.

At least, in theory.

Now that I think about it, only firebending is - at least to that extent - identified as being primarily a connection to something internal rather than external. Which would explain why it's so much about self-control.

Now I wanna see The Empire vs. The Fire Nation's army (minus Zuko, Mai, and Ty Lee because of Zuko's Heel–Face Turn and Mai and Ty Lee being imprisoned prior to the end of the series)

EDIT: The Empire would be nerfed to be only Stormtroopers, Palpatine, and Vader.

The Stormtroopers have Powered Armor that does more than you'd think, laser-pistols and a surprisingly good aim when it comes to redshirts and non-Plot Armour-protected targets. Vader and Sidious have psychokinesis, electrokinesis (in the case of the latter), and plasma swords. The Fire Nation can shoot flames and, in the case of Ozai and Azula, lightning, but that's it.

I have thought of a Smash Bros. 4 fanfic idea (involving my Mii characters which happen to include TLA and Star Wars characters, among others), and part of it would be a pseudo Empire Strikes Back adaptation...except Han's not frozen in carbonite, Zuko would be. (Azula's the Big Bad for my story idea)

Next Death Battle should be out today.

Unfortunately, it won't be up today, but they will release a preview and have the fight up ASAP

First time releasing on a new schedule, and they already ran into problems? This is not very uplifting.

It is their first time on a new schedule. Besides, we don't know why they didn't upload it today.

A remaster/rematch? Huh... I'd rather have Samus vs. Master Chief... ah well, I suppose it'll look better than the first time so that's a plus I guess.

I got excited for a moment, I legitimatley thought we were getting Samus vs. Master Chief.

For some reason I doubt the result will change, what do you guys think? At the very least they're going to have an expanded arsenal, and... Zero Suit factors in somehow. Even though Zero Laser no longer forces it any more... OTHER M THIS IS YOUR FAULT SOMEHOW

Also a longshot, but does anyone think/hope Super Metroid's Special Charge Beam Attacks and Crystal Flash will factor in somehow?

I'm guessing they'll include some more EU things in Boba's analysis, though I'm not sure how much it'll alter the outcome. If anything, the animation certainly looks amazing.

Really..... Did anyone look at that Deathbattle and go "It's pretty fun, but I wonder how it'd be if it looked more like shit. Like, with some bad CGI or something."

I think this just them taking the opportunity to make a cool-looking fight for interesting match-up they've already done. If they do another one of these, I would love to see Kratos vs Spawn in 3d.

As for EU stuff, doesn't the new Disney canon make all that unusable now?

I don't know how you can look at the old episode and say that the preview looks "more like shit"

No? I'm pretty certain being bought by another company doesn't instantly make that stuff non-canon. Disney doesn't even have a reason to make it non-canon anyways.

Disney explicitely said the EU is non canon though. Also why the spoiler font. At this points its just a promo to a future episode. Geez.

Semi competent sprite work is always superior to crappy CGI.
