The Foundation issue is a bit more complicated, but it basically goes like this:
- It's seen as Mrs. Clinton refusing to play by the same political norms as everyone else.
- The foundation takes foreign money, which is seen as a no-no faux pas, especially if she's an active politicians.
- It's seen as money laundering of sorts for campaign checks, basically money gets laundered through the foundation for Special Interests who want her to win.
- She and her husband are conducting pay-to-play access, basically you pay big bucks to get access to the Clintons.
- It generally feeds the notion she's for sale for Big Business and Wall Street, something Democrats are sick of.
The thing, though, is the foundation is essentially Bill Clinton's legacy, as it has done good work, which is why they refuse to chop it down.
The Republican field is much more difficult, as with nearly 20 candidates, it's a veritable sea of chaos. I don't think there's ever been a potential presidential field this ugly.

- Her message sounds an awful like a Presidental candidate delivering a stump speech.
- He explains no, she's not running, but she's essentialy using the style of a presidental stump speech to convey her point.
- Specifically she sounds an awful lot like "Hope and Change" 2008 Obama (i,.e. a candidate who talks about why no one who wins office seems to do anything.)
- He suspects Warren's doing it because that kind of candidate resonates best with American voters. American voters are dogged by the issue that they vote, they vote for candidates they like, but the current political system is hyper toxic.
- She's using the abstract concept of "The rich and powerful" as a strawman.
- Klein notes her point is half right on that Washington listens to the rich and powerful more.
- However, that abstract strawman isn't the basis of the problems Warren and the voters she's igniting are upset with.
- Warren in the speech calls out for a major infrastructure bill, and most voters would probably agree the inability to pass this is a problem with the US political system. (Klein then notes, Big Business WANTS infrastructure)
- Klein then notes the major issue going on is political partisanship being at its worst in generations. (i.e. Republicans don't want to give the President political wins.) That kind of zero-sum game logic going on is the major current driving force in Washington.
- Klein further notes Partisanship drives the circus of big items, but small minutia of the big items along with the smaller bills, are where the rich and powerful have a large amount of power.
- Warren's attack on Student Loans and Infrastructure is about highlighting this specific issue. (i.e. Washington was much quicker to protect banks then they were to protect average voters and college students)
- Her choice of these attacks and strawmen is to shine the spotlight on where Lobbyists run the show. I.e. she's using these policies to make a broad thesis to those listening about her about how the system favors players with the time, energy and resources that master their complexity (Lobbyists for special interests).
- Klein summarizes that she's doing this because she is a policy wonk, but she DOES NOT like how the technocratic wonkery of the system invalidates and scares away voters. Basically complex arguments favor the rich and powerful (who have time and energy), and focusing on minutia bores voters who get excited by justice and fairness. (Basically she's using her stumping to get people interested in WHY the system keeps failing them)
- Her heated, demagogic voice is intentional. It's meant to rile up the average voter and give people the view that she cares.
On an abstract, I wonder if this might play a huge role with Bernie Sanders, as he has a VERY VERY similar style to her.

A Liberal professor professes concern with the growth of "feelings" and "identity based" SJW-styled liberalism among the current era of college student, where truth is subservient to feelings and emotions.
The main reason I note this is that the professor summarizes these kind of students become the liberal voters of tomorrow, and such rejection of truth for hyper left liberal feelings could end up costing the American political left huge damages for a generation if rejection of things like truth and scientific inquiry are based because of their connection to White Males.

The thing with Hillary is mostly that she's refusing to accommodate the major media players, which is why they're concern trolling about the Clinton Foundation and the email thing because they think if they make these into a big issue, then Clinton will HAVE to talk to them to defuse the issue. She's playing an "ignore them and they'll go away, focus on what's important" game, and that's driving the soundbyte media bonkers.
Re: South East Asia and the British Empire. How is there any question over this? Surely Gabrael was referring to The Raj! Australia and Canada left us relatively peacefully, but India...didn't. The East India Trading Company were a true N.G.O. Superpower and one of the most cartoonishly evil and powerful organisations ever to exist. If I'd first heard of them in fiction, I'd dismiss the writer as a talentless hack peddling ridiculous cliches, but no, it was all real.
Plays into paranoid conspiracy theorists hands, unfortunately. They're worried about what the evil government are up to, and even if she isn't doing anything nefarious, they want to believe she is and will act as such anyway.

Causing freakouts over sourcing since 2018
Brunei has been fairly peaceful, save for the failed coup attempt when they tried to join Malaysia. The country is stagnating economically though, and the rulers seem to think that increasing Islamicisation will keep them covered for when the oil runs dry.
India is part of southeast asia.

I like the guy, but he lacks the support of his base; he's Sanders with much less dynamic appeal.
And now I'm starting to wonder what Sanders vs. Paul would look like. Much as I despise Rand Paul, I can't help but imagine that that campaign would look like a massive Cool vs. Awesome slugfest as both candidates look for ways to establish their proposed New Course and make a break from Washington-as-usual.

No it really isn't. That's by the definition's of Wikipedia[1], our own Asia page[2] and the fact that it's part of OTC's South-Asia thread.[3]
As for us screwing up India, we kinda couldn't stick around, we were the problem, if we had stuck round things would have been much worse. as we'd have likely respected our deals with the princely state and kept India from forming into one country, instead keeping it divided into many.
Hell could we have "stuck around" anyway? India was a dominion by that point wasn't it? How much power did we actually have at that point?

We certainly don't need them made upby the fuckheads who would want to be a militia.
And another thing, who are the militants supposed to protect us from? This isn't Red Dawn. We have not declared war on Mexico (officially). We already have enough legal and regulated oppertunities for someone to protect and serve.
I can get behind volunteer firefighting and medical reserves because that is all about saving lives.
