Say that this is what they were doing between their travel to the place that ended up exploding before they got there, like a side adventure or someat.

Alrighty.

I've been talking with Sun, and me and her are planning to bring Mitch and Nova into WAOAA.

However, I have a few concerns I may need to iron out, mostly concerning Mitch's equipment and how it might break the game wide open. While this is gold coming from the same person who plays Noble Six, Queen Bitch of the Universe, I do think Mitch might be a bit too stronk for this game;

• Augmented Reaction Suit - thanks to the suit's thrusters, if he joins he will literally be the fastest person there that isn't Serenity
• Rheinmetall - it's a railgun that fires 20 rounds per second. This wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't a Mach 15 railgun - it might not fire very big bullets, but at Mach 15 that shit's gonna hurt and armor doesn't make much difference.
• Black Widow - a multi-shot sniper rifle that fires jets of what amount to water at 99.9% of lightspeed. This is an even worse case - it's gonna sting.
• The Cain isn't really an issue, because the last time I did this Mitch left the Cain behind, stating that if he died, it was something far too dangerous to give to anyone else who can't understand what it's capable of.
• Plus: the guy has biotics (gravity-manipulation space magic), and actual magic (though he's not good at much besides teleporting a few times).

With all of this in mind I do think Mitch is a bit too overpowered for the game. That being said, Sun did have a talk with me and told me that I was playing Noble Six, someone who through virtue of genetic modifications was a lightning-reflexes supersoldier and a crack shot with a rifle for long range and a shotgun for short, but my personal problem is that relativistic weaponry is on an entirely different scale from a regular shoota, and it's capable of causing a ton more damage - and thanks to technology Mitch is literally faster, and not just figuratively.

So, two questions;

• First off: Is Mitch overpowered in the first place?
• Second, and only if he is: I am entirely willing to make an alternate set of gear so he isn't so "Gearbox buff Money Shot", but considering he has all of this beforehand, why should he use inferior gear?

Gonna be honest, I can't answer you on whether he's overpowered. You guys've swung too wildly on what is and isn't allowable that by now I'm like "I'll wait until one of the dms screams" or if the character gets dbz powers.

I'm just going to say that if you feel uncomfortable with the possibility of being overpowered, it's obvious which option you should use in order to cover your bets.

Yeah, that's my personal issue. I'd be willing to give him a try, but he's just too powerful.

That being said I need more help with Question 2. Mitch is pragmatic at heart. I am entirely willing to give him weapons that aren't as nutbustingly strong, but the issue with that is entirely a "why should he use them" sort of thing.

"Too dangerous" isn't really an excuse I'm too fond of the rest of the stuff there - mostly because the ARS can only cause damage if an inexperienced operator drives it into something, and railguns are precise power - they'll obliterate what you aim at and nothing more.

This is really equipment-centric, I realize, but that's just Mitch for you - his gear makes him.

"Yep."

"Damnit. And I can't just go back home?"

And then a prinny swiped it and became the most badass prinny in the multiverse for sheer virtue of having a gun

I came up with an idea, though. A slightly more boring one, but it'll do the job.

I can still throw in the "ran to work and forgot his stuff", though.

Long as it contains Pringunny, the shootiest prinny in the multivarse evar, then whatever you do is fine with me.

Also, might play that one character I played from the evil avatars game for this. Should I write up a profile for them, or just go for it and see how it goes?

I'm also thinking of doing a post-apoc arc at some point, but Sunny's doing something like that already, sooooo I'll wait a month or two.

Ok so just what is the power level for this RP? I'd like a more clear cut defintion of what is and isn't acceptable since I'm seriously confused now.

Last I checked, the maximum limit was Super Weight 3. Anything above that is expressly forbidden.

I was just worried because while technically Mitch was Super Weight 2, his weaponry was strong enough that he'd be able to punch high above his weight class.

This isn't exactly what I mean, but if your character can take on... say, a Zaku on foot, and kill it without using stealth or exploiting weak points, then they are too strong for this RP.

That shouldn't be too hard for anyone with access to a rocket launcher, considering it's a Zaku.

Obviously if they get the ability to do this temporarily then it's fair game because it's likely a plot-induced event or a Limit Break they can't do often or a really big gun.

But, if at normal strength they can take on a run-of-the-mill Gundam and kill it without using stealth or hitting its weak point for massive damage, then might we suggest WAOA.

Yeah, I was kinda sketchy about using a Zaku, because they are to Gundam what Russian conscripts are to militaries. Cannon fodder, if you need an explanation. But I figure that since it's a giant robot, a Zaku could probably still effortlessly squish any idiot that tries to attack them head-on, without using stealth or trying to hit a weak point to cripple them.
