Seriously everyone; if your description opens with a notice of some sort, rather than a description, you need to rethink it. Particularly a bold, underlined notice.
I can understand wanting to inform your readers and ensure they are not misinformed, but it is such am unprofessional way to present things. There are other ways to present that information that are not off-puttingly informal.

And speaking of which, I should probably only go so far in seeking others' opinions in lieu of my own judgement, but I am curious if my revised fic descriptions are an improvement. (Seriously though, as fun as it is, Demesne really doesn't have a plot yet, just a few short threads hanging around.)

There is no beginning. There is no end. There is only... Hooty. That whole quoted thing.... yeah don't like the idea at all. It is shoving the darkest, dumbest, most bullshit possible way things could be into place, no matter how little it fits the setting, and then bitching about things being so fucked up, when they are only that way, because the story itself said they are.
Hello. I was away camping for a week. Sadly I couldn't write on account of no computer.
I started reading that White Mare story. I don't know how to feel about it. So far it's actually pretty interesting, but the romance stuff... Well, it's offputting considering she's an actual horse in that story. There's one part that's just barely skirting around the need for a mature tag.
I don't often say that a story would be better without romance, but this is one of those times.
Poor pen and paper, forever forgotten.

Your momma's so dumb she thinks oral sex means talking dirty.Well, if he writes his grocery lists that way, then that gives him even less of an excuse.
FE: Genealogy Story Run 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiOne clopfic in the feature box right now mentions in the description that it contains "wing bukkake".
I've rarely had such a strong urge to say "I'm done with this site".
Mache dich, mein Herze, rein.......... Because of something you can just ignore and not even bother looking at, literally if you turn on the mature filter?
Granted should make it a 'sex' tag filter instead. But still... so?
I don't even know what that is and don't want to know. I jerked my eyes away after "facefucking".
There is no beginning. There is no end. There is only... Hooty.I would love if they had a filter just for the clopfics. I don't like cutting off my access to interesting stories just to avoid the stuff I don't want to see.
They really need to make the Feature Box personally configurable.

"The only way to truly waste an idea is to shove it where it doesn't belong."I always thought those fics resulted from someone severely misinterpreting the nature of Gunnery-Sergeant Hartman's insults.
Okay, that white horse story? It's got a lot of issues. There's the romance thing. There's the whole "Once the crisis is over, what does this guy bring to the table to make it an equal relationship?" problem. There's the "This Celestia is a blatant mary sue and arguably out of character" issue.
It's all worth it to see her crash the global economy in order to bust her friend out of jail. She even has the decency to fix it afterwards.
Knighty says that one day we'll get a proper tagging system, and we'll be able to completely customize the site based on searching and filtering tags.
He's been saying this for years now.

Knighty operates in Valve time.
About the second to last thing Seraphem said.
I agree. While not explicitly stated not to be happening in the show, I can't see any of the quoted things being true unless ya squint real hard and ignore the tone of the setting.
I guess that was my inclination too- just didn't want to dismiss it out of hand, since we know that the place and the princesses aren't as perfect as we would wish. It reminded me of what I'd heard about the Triptych Continuum ("My Little Pony: Reality Ensues"), if to a greater degree, and more jarring thanks to being one info-dump paragraph instead of a series of glimpses. (And of course Sera has noted his issues with the latter series as well.)
It's odd how soul-crushing I find this stuff, when I enjoy a revenge tragedy about a jilted former student of Celestia going Gambit Pileup against Twilight, or a series which partly hinges on Shining Armor having an affair with Luna. Probably because they're not Reality Ensues, and it's not necessarily the ponies we know and love the most screwing up and starting the conflict (though how they react may be a different story...).
There is no beginning. There is no end. There is only... Hooty. It's hard to judge how believable the situations in the Triptych Continuum are, because the series is ineptly written.
"The only way to truly waste an idea is to shove it where it doesn't belong."@42750: The only circumstance under which ponies would go cheerfully to war would be a war game, a strategy and preparedness exercise.
I know this because I participated in an aborted round robin fic on another forum that had this exact premise — a winter war game, fought in Ponyville with such weapons as snowballs, cream pies, and spears made out of rubber. The Princesses have been sending out missives to every participant for weeks now, "in character" as opposing generals; several civilians, including the Mane Six, have all been given temporary military rank in order to participate. The problem is that Twilight misplaced and thus never read the first letter in the series... the one that told everyone it was just a wargame and Celestia hasn't gone war-crazy and Luna isn't trying to overthrow her sister again.
We were getting somewhere interesting, I thought — but our participants started dropping out, mostly due to illness or scheduling problems.
Curse Sharaloth for posting the next Harmony Theory chapter the night before I leave for Wacken... Well, something to look forward to when I get back, I guess.
