I am shocked, shocked that there isn't a thread set up for True Blood yet. It's on this Sunday.

Yeah, its narmy at times, but also funny and exciting. Too bad though that they killed Franklin, he was awesome.

There was actually, it appears to have dropped off between the seasons.

So would that make this thread about vampires a necro?

Franklin kinda needed to die for Twilight's sins.

One of those witches in the covern... the new one... she's well... she's Sophie Anne, isn't she?

[up]I think you mean Maryann(the Big Bad of season 2)? Sophie Anne was the Queen of Louisiana...

And while the answer to your question is no, I do recognize the similarity. The girl does look like a younger Michelle Forbes. But since they don't say her character's name (nor do they in the second episode, up on HBOGo), I couldn't tell you exactly who it is...

[up]Nope. That red haired girl with specs. She's definitely Evan Rachel Wood. And they mention that her name's Katie.

[up]No... The red-haired girl with specs(Katarina) is Alexandra Breckenridge... Unless there were two red-haired girls with specs at the wiccan meeting, and the other one, the one who doesn't inform the King of Louisiana about them, is the one you're talking about...

I watched the premiere(and the second episode) on HBO Go about two hours ago...

In the premiere, Katarina joins in with the wiccans, sees the bird come back to life and die again, then informs the King of Louisiana about it... I didn't think much of it at the time... In next weeks episode(again, up on HBOGo.com), her name gets said (it may have been said in the first episode, but I never recalled it). And I used that to see who she was in the credits (IMDB's cast list either isn't complete or accurate. Neither the character, nor the actress appears on their list).

The girl I thought you were talking about really caught my eye in the second episode (I don't recall her being in the first one) looks an awful lot like Michelle Forbes(Maryann from season 2). Or at least, Michelle Forbes circa 91/92, with long hair...

So... why is Tara into chicks now?

Regarding Tara: The surprising thing isn't that she's into girls, it's that she's a goddamn MMA fighter living under an assumed identity. I mean, dudes have never exactly worked out for her, and I've always thought that there's been a little bit of lesbian subtext in her relationship with Sookie. The MMA thing, though, seems like fanfiction.

Maybe she is just tired of being the plaything for others? It makes sense for me, she's done bein the victim, now she kicks back. Also, it's nice to not see her angsting the whole time.

Girl has anger issues, and has spent the majority of the last 3 seasons being some mystical being's bitch in some form or another... I think Tara becoming an MMA fighter actually makes a bit of sense, as it'd give her some false sense of security along the lines of now I can defend myself against these things. Sure it's a lie, and she probably knows it is too... But sometimes it's better to lie to yourself to make your life more bearable.

Re Tara. Her girlfriend came across as wastly more sympathetic and supportive than the entirety of her past romantic history put together, so yhea, its an easy sell to belive in the relationship. The fact that Tara is apparantly lying her ass off to the first SO she's ever had that is not a douche is kind of.. depressing. Happy to see her less full of angst, tough. Wonder how they met? Did she take up self defence classes and start sleeping with the instructor, or what?

[up]Eggs wasn't that bad from what I remember. The only time he ever harmed her or anyone else on the show was when he was under the influence of Maryann's sexy, sexy mind control powers.

I think the whole Tara is thing is just sorta weird.

But the rest of the premiere was awesome. Glad to see everyone again. I'm disappointed that Andy has gotten worse though.
