Do you own any pets?
Just read this if you want to know my feelings about Fifi from Tiny Toons.
Unpopular character you really like?
Meet the Tamas!◊ I've come to retrieve my power.Gina Linetti, from Brooklyn Nine-Nine. I don't find her jerkass-ery funny.
I don't dislike Hot Rod from The Transformers and I think people hate on him too much for Optimus Prime's death.
Favorite example of Superlative Dubbing?
Edited by Angry_Clown on Apr 10th 2024 at 6:31:53 AM
Just a simple man, making my way through the Tropes.I loved the dub of Baccano!. Lots of fun. Even if the period accents weren't perfect, the fact that they made an effort made the series even more fun.
What's something that's not very well regarded in general, but that you enjoyed unironically?
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.I guess the live-action Transformers movies directed by Michael Bay.
What's a movie you are currently planning to watch?
"I usually specialize in Dragon-types, but now I'm a fairy and specialize in Fairy-types. See the irony?" - IrisSonic the Hedgehog 3
What time is it in your timezone right now?
BTW, please call me Jake.12:19 AM
Most exotic food you've eaten?
See my profile by clicking my avatar, it'll tell you more than any signature can. Also see my avatar gallery (usable feature for members)...There have been several, but one that comes to mind is escargot. I just tried it for the first time the other day... it's alright. It tasted like snails.
Most recent place you've been on a vacation to? (mainly thinking of this since I just got back from Cleveland, Ohio)
Cold turkey's getting stale. Tonight I'm eating crow. The Thousand Islands as part of a company vacation. That was back in October.
What's the most sophisticated piece of electronics that you own?
Lovepilled and HopemaxxingI think that would be my PC.
Any example of a usage of an overused/discredited trope that still worked well?
For me, Brandon Sanderson regularly surprises me with there.
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.I still enjoy Card-Carrying Villain when it's played seriously and for horror, especially in slasher movies.
A horror movie that you found to be not as scary as you originally expected? "I usually specialize in Dragon-types, but now I'm a fairy and specialize in Fairy-types. See the irony?" - Iris
I have never gotten the praise around The Thing from Another World. People have always hyped it as a classic, and I just don't think it's frightening. I see it as a bland 50s monster movie that pales in comparison to not only its remake, but other creature feature of the time. It's so boring, but it’s probably that I don't have the taste for movies like that.
Is there any media you want to read/watch/play but but always put off?
Edited by CanuckMcDuck1 on Apr 11th 2024 at 8:35:40 AM
I’m sorry, but you have Stage 9 Animes.I want to watch the The Godfather but, as I have the book, won't watch it until I've read the book. The problem is, my backlog of books is so large it'll be ages until I get to it.
An example of Unintentionally Sympathetic that you don't understand (you don't find the character in question to be in any way sympathetic).
I don't really have one.
What's your pet-peeve trope?
Edited by Oggy123 on Apr 12th 2024 at 11:49:30 PM
Love at First Sight, especially when it's treated as True Love.
Favorite film genre?
I used to like action-adventure, but now I prefer speculative fiction with well-developed character arcs and world building, or psycho-dramas.
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.Between phycological thriller and fantasy.
Example of a character you absolutely love from a work you absolutely hate?
Peter Dinklage's Eddie Plant from Pixels. He was the only good part about that movie.
Favorite video game boss fights, if you have any? "I usually specialize in Dragon-types, but now I'm a fairy and specialize in Fairy-types. See the irony?" - Iris
The Heavy Gunner boss fight from Sonic Mania. His catchy boss theme alone is one of my reasons why it's one of my favorite boss fights in the game.
What's a boss fight that you find challenging or hard?
One thing I have learned in pledging my life to this quest is that I have been betrayed again and again. And again. And again.Lige? in Reverse Collapse. The problem is that she's both a Puzzle Boss despite having enough HP to be a regular boss.
Her main mechanic is that she will dodge every attack unless she stands on a flower field and that field is burned, stunning her. She also makes a beeline towards Jefuty and affected by Atena's Taunt and Cardboard Standees. However:
1. Lige's AI will avoid standing on a flower field if able
2. She has incredibly high movement, does truckloads of damage, and can make multiple attacks per turn (more if she downs your units)
3. There are only limited amounts of flower fields in the map
4. If you do get her near a flower field, she will start the turn with Ashes, which does nothing but burn said field into uselessness
Once you stun her, though another problem arises: she will recover immediately next turn, so you need to do as much damage in this single opening. Easier said than done if she wasn't placed on the end of a Marathon Level, where you're likely spent most of your munitions taking down droves of mooks (the game is kind enough to give a Preparation screen before her fight, at least).
Also, she revives afterwards with twice as much health.
I lost count how many times I had to Save Scum lmao, and this was on Regular difficulty. Can't imagine fighting her on Challenge+.
For you, which video game has the most enjoyable combat system?
Edited by ArmoredFury on Apr 13th 2024 at 8:47:06 PM
Lovepilled and HopemaxxingLeague of Legends. Even though some champs are total BS, I still enjoy the different kinds of designs and play styles.
Favorite villain trope?
In battle, we are reborn.Villain Has a Point — We, as decent people, expect heroes to be correct above a villain. Letting the antagonist be correct in his conclusions but with controversial yet understandable means makes for very interesting dialogue and exchanges. Plus, pushing this trope more towards its Logical Extreme shifts the tone away from classic White And Black Morality into the more grey ones.
Favorite work from a genre that you normally do not watch, read, play, or otherwise consume from?
These two may literally be more bark than bite, but they are no less tenacious than everyone else.I don't usually pay attention to romantic films or period dramas, and yet I love The Handmaiden.
Is there any work that you recognise as being well-made but just isn't for you personally?
I respect Stardew Valley for its success as a one man project, even though I only played it for a week and it didn't click.
Breakfast of choice?

It's Over Anakin, I have the high ground!Blue Archive. I actually like the character designs and their interactions with each other. My problem is the framing: you, the Player Character, is the lone adult teacher in a city full of teenage girls. I had bad experience with teachers taking advantage of their students, so this never sat right with me.
dang it double
RPK-16, or rather Pandora. The event where she betrayed her squad for the local terrorist cult, handed her leader over to them, and got the rest of her teammates killed broke containment and set the English-speaking fanbase on fire — who aren't even supposed to know about her at that time.
Personally, though, I find her compelling. She is in a way the antithesis of M4A1 and AR Team: robots who are given free will but choose to exercise it by following their creator's ideals, which they independently determine as correct. RPK-16 is similar but with one key difference: her free will is framed as the right to Defy orders, which manifests as a desire to become human, even at the cost of her squad's lives.
Her interactions with Ange (said squad leader) are also interesting. People are inclined to take her as a liar, like warning Ange not to go into the Oberstein Mansion where the cult had prepared a trap, knowing full-well that this will only embolden her, but I like to think there's a layer of sincerity to her.
What's the oldest work you can think of that still holds up to modern standards?

No, not really.
Who’s a really popular character that you hate?
