New Moon Dwellers news! Calvina and Tenia coming in with Bellzelute, which is not much of a surprise at this point (besides Bel's rifle now having a Blade Mode and Calvina now wearing tights). We also get a first look at Al-Van.
What's more of a surprise however is the appearance of Endlich Geist, aka Alles Geist's old One-Winged Angel form that was absent from 2nd OG. Looks like the Real Robot Regiment plot isn't done yet.
I have news that pretty much nobody saw coming. The Moon Dwellers will get an official english translation.

I wonder if this has something to do with the fact that J has a fantranslation and GC has one that is currently in progress.
"Death's vastness holds no peace. I come at the end of the long road—neither human, nor devil... All bends to my will." -Demifiend.IT'S HAPPENING!!!
This has all my hype now that it's getting translated into English.
Dammit, Banpresto! And you're not doing this to the OGs previously before why!?
But oh yeah, Calvina and Tenia! I wonder if Calvina is still crippled hand-wise.

So, I'm going to start playing A for the GBA, and I've got a translation guide for the dialogue and spirit commands.
Know where I can get a translation guide for attacks and unit names? I can't read Japanese to save my life.
I know what the symbol for the "-mu" sound is, which is enough to let me recognize a Gundam when I see it.
Also, HOLY SHIT ZOMFG YEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS
....just one more reason to save up for a PS 4.
I'm still not sure how to feel about this. On the other hand, we're getting the latest OG in English, but on the other hand, we still haven't gotten Gaiden or OGS 2. I still feel like we're missing a big piece of the puzzle, and I'm not sure if I really want to pick this one up with that being the case.
On the plus side, the PS 4 is region-free. On the downside, I'm not sure if I'll be willing to pay import costs. I shall see how much it costs for something to be shipped to east coast United States from Asia.
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.I was able to get Gears of Destiny for somewhere between 15~20 USD, shipping included.
...eBay is your friend.
welpo. now I need a ps4.
Oh yes.
Does anybody happen to know whether the Dinosaur Empire survives the Alpha series? Or are they destroyed at some point?
I've only played the games on PS1, so I'm not sure what happens in the later games, but they turn up in Alpha Gaiden and the Getter Robo guys finish them off in that Bad Future timeline. I wouldn't be surprised if they turn up in Alpha 2 or 3 and get beat down there.
I'm also wondering about the Mycenae Empire. See I'm working on a fan fiction including characters from the Alpha timeline of Super Robot Wars and I'm wondering whether they would be surprised to see these guys.
The Mycenaeans and the Dinosaur Empire are still around in alpha gaiden since the heroes of those series weren't around to defeat them in the past. Once you get BACK to the past in alpha 2 you fight and defeat them there, too.
I believe the bosses are brought back to life by Muge Zorbados(?) in alpha 3, but only for a little while.
Interesting. Well thank you for the information, that should be useful.
I am actually playing Alpha Gaiden right now. However I am having problems with the sound which is a bummer, because one of the best features of Super Robot Wars is the music.
Oh yes it is. In fact, I was introduced to the series after hearing the Original Generations soundtrack. 'Chaos' will always hold a special place in my heart because of that.
Featuring a pissed off Cure Mermaid — Oh, wait, I mean Calvina.
Have we seen Coustwell yet? I never liked it much, but it feels odd to have a playable mech just vanish. Oh well, not like I'll miss it much.
Damn it, my backlog is big enough as it is and I haven't even started 2nd OG. Maybe I'll just wait a year and get it used.
It's what happens when you have more mechs than characters. Maybe it'll appear at some point, as secret, enemy unit, or whatever.
The Soul Gunner also disappeared, but there's a reason for that (the vast majority of GC's designs were based on other designs from games such as Sunrise Eiyuutan or G-Breaker and they apparently can't get the rights anymore, so everybody except Soul Saber's getting reworked mechs)
every pv that goes by without coustwell kills me a little bit more
You might want to check out my thread over I'm Tabletop Games. I am planning a SRW tabletop rpg campaign and am looking for some input.
Also I am wondering what crazy or merely unlikelu ideas people would like to see SRW do, but know will never happen. Personally I am considering doing some crazy stuff in my campaign precisely because such things would never make it into an actual SRW game. Like having Power Rangers or Transformers show up. I am thinking of having Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man appear. Never in a million years would they be in an actual SRW game (the closest being appearing with SRW characters in Project X Zone ad X and Zero did), but if you think about it they could at least fit in in terms of being able to fight giant robots.
Stop wishing your mecha to die, Touya!!
Holy crap, I am loving that PS 4-era Raftclans...
I decided to finally get back to playing Original Generation 1 again. I just finished episode 39 on the Ryusei path. Man, that was fun.
