Giant Gorg? Holy geeze.
Also I heard that AGE is just the 2nd part, aka the best part.
It's already been confirmed that its starting around the 3rd arc.
3rd Arc! PFEH.
So no SUPER PILOTO moment?!
I Still remember back when i readed That Trivia page i still Have a little Tear Coming out of my Eye.
"Death's vastness holds no peace. I come at the end of the long road—neither human, nor devil... All bends to my will." -Demifiend.BX Trailer with subs, and the official upload version if anyone prefers that.
Is it just me or do the vets of previous handheld games like GGG just look like cleaned up versions of their older sprites while new things to the handheld series like unicorn look very different?
Easier than making whole new sprite sheets for them. They've been doing it since the the franchise started.
On another note, considering that this new game is on the 3DS, does anyone think that it's going to be related to UX's story in some way, or do you think it's just a naming theme?
As far as i know There is no case of a SRW game who is a sequel to other but with a different Subtitle... Unless you count Impact but that one was a remake so i dont think it Counts.
And speaking of Tengoku-Hen seems every one is making Snarky jokes about it Saying things like 'They Run out of Budget' looks like The Game was not the Grand Finale everyone was waiting for
"Death's vastness holds no peace. I come at the end of the long road—neither human, nor devil... All bends to my will." -Demifiend.Well, between some of the cast not returning, and it being crippled by the P Svita's limitations, along with it hzaving to continue sttching a plot together that honestly felt resolved in z1, tengoku hen was basically "tries desperately to be alpha 3, falls on face for doing so"
So, you're saying that if someone just played Z1, they'd have a complete story and wouldn't have to play the other Z games to continue the story? You'd get a complete story just from playing that one game?
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-Around¿'Crippled by the PS Vita's limitations'? Well i found the animations of Saisei-hen and Hakai-hen and those where on PSP even more than the original Z
I heared some Rumors that Z3 was Rushed dunno if its Truth
"Death's vastness holds no peace. I come at the end of the long road—neither human, nor devil... All bends to my will." -Demifiend.Thing is that in retrospect, you don't. Z1 laid the groundwork for the mythology that Z2 and 3 expanded upon. The main theme of Z1 was chaos. Almost none of the series involved in it had much to do with the events that transpired in later games; their hero and villain casts were there solely to act as bystanders coping with a world that has been changed utterly (as the page for it on this very site says, the plot is just the various separate machinations of each series smashing into one another, without cohesion). The Spheres are introduced with extreme ambiguity and you get almost no explanation for what they are. The final boss feels like the mastermind of the whole affair, yet is ultimately the biggest victim and, in the whole scope of things, the most weak-minded too.
That's not to say that Z1 wasn't _made_ to be a standalone game, it certainly felt like one. It was the final PS 2 SRW title, and they pulled out all the stops to make it a fitting swansong for the console which bore the most famous games in the franchise.
¿What about Z Special Disk? I think it had Some Extra Stages With Story
"Death's vastness holds no peace. I come at the end of the long road—neither human, nor devil... All bends to my will." -Demifiend.I didn't count that one since it was a "full game" That said, I really do think that battle viewers should be the norm for all entries in the franchise.
And a Gallery with all the Characters and Mechas
"Death's vastness holds no peace. I come at the end of the long road—neither human, nor devil... All bends to my will." -Demifiend.yes, I do think z1 on its own had a great story which resolved well. Sure, there were dangling hooks like the spheres, but its not like we havent had stories leave dangly hooks before (like the Fabula Forest of D/O G2nd)
¿Fabula Forest? I Read the Trope Pages of most games on a Regular Basis but i never heard of that ¿What exactly is this forest?
EDIT: Soo i was watching a video Titled Super Robot Wars OG F Wich edited various Attacks (Especially of the Grungust, Gespenst, and Huckebein Units) to Voice clips from the 8 Protagonists from SRW F and F Final
Now that i think about it ¿What happened to the other 6? other than Irm and Ring i dont see Any of the Others in OG Now i Hope They appear in the 3rd OG especially Lenonjance (The black haired dude) since He created ¡The Mother Freaking Gespenst Kick!
Ehem and now about Z3 as Whole my Question is... ¿Is really that 'bad' As they say to the point it Becomes a 'All For Nothing' Situation?

"Death's vastness holds no peace. I come at the end of the long road—neither human, nor devil... All bends to my will." -Demifiend.To all of you guys who are vastly more familiar with the details of this franchise than I am... How does the franchise in general, being a Massively Multiplayer Crossover, handle fusing the many disparate settings and backstories of the crossed-over works and characters? Does it employ Adaptation Distillation, Broad Strokes, or some other approach to some of them, for example?
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.(This post is going to be kinda Long)
Lets See... I can do a Summary of sorts of what SRW does on a regular Basis here its
-Saving characters who originally die in their Home Series
-Avoiding Tragic or Downer Endings
-since most Super Robot Protagonists are Warrior Therapists they Help Protagonists with Angst Overcome their emotional Issues more Easily
And About your question yes There are sometimes when the Adaptation Distillation Trope is used (I think) and sometimes Some Episodes And even Characters are Adapted Out
"Death's vastness holds no peace. I come at the end of the long road—neither human, nor devil... All bends to my will." -Demifiend.@Marq: There are three major things to bear in mind.
1) 95% of the time, Rule of Fix Fic. If not mandatory, then definitely possible, like being able to save and recruit Four Murasame and Elpeo Puru and Puru Two. As well as the Evangelion storyline not going to complete and utter hell like it did in the anime. But not always. You can save Mu la Flaga in Alpha 3, but not in J.
2) Adaptation Distillation: the games are constructed somewhat similar to the mecha anime they employ - each map plays out like a single episode. And when you've got half a dozen 50+ episode shows and as many 26~ episode shows, there's no way in hell you can fit the events of every single episode from every show. So instead, you distill it to its most critical plot points/Stations of Canon, and those are addressed at appropriate stretches of time. In the meanwhile, other plot threads get to progress.
3) Compressed Adaptation: Universal Century Gundam, from 0079 to F91, for example, covers a timespan of almost 50 years. In-game, the events from the relevant series (Zeta Gundam, Gundam ZZ, Chars Counterattack, Gundam F 91) can all take place within weeks of each other, with characters and Mobile Suits from a sequel (ZZ Gundam) appearing before the prequel (Zeta Gundam) is even close to being resolved.
As for how the setting is created? Typically, you take the shows you've got going, and create a Shared Universe that allows for them all to coexist. Exty Years from Now is a very easy show trope to get twisted - Nadesico takes place in the 2500s, but is often said to be much much earlier, because other series in The 'Verse had similar or greater technology levels at much earlier points in time.
Beyond that, it depends on the game. Sometimes, like in J, the elements of each original setting don't really have much to do with each other (aside from Colbert being The Dragon for Azrael, and the Original Flavor villains giving le Cruset the N-Jammer Canceller technology). Other times, like in W, critical elements of two shows are presented as directly related to one another, like the Radam having created Tekkamen as a defense against Zonderization.
And yeah, the shows used in SRW often get Broad Strokes from the original source that the games are adapting from.
@dood9780: It's not a forest, that's a mistranslation. AFAIK it's meant to be "Fabula Fores" which is bad latin for "the story/legend door/gate" or something. It's basically the massive underground fortress-plus-crossgate that's used to summon Perfectio into the world.
edited 4th Jun '15 12:06:28 AM by SCDifference
Oh Thank you, i did not know that.
Seems Latin is just as Popular as English in Japan
"Death's vastness holds no peace. I come at the end of the long road—neither human, nor devil... All bends to my will." -Demifiend.Right. My point being, Perfectio wasnt defeated completely even at the end of D or Og2nd. simply sealed.
Oh to be sure they'll use Perfectio again, especially if future installments mess around with crossgates as per Alpha 3.
Speaking of unresolved plotlines, does Tengoku-hen address the existince of the three other Dimensional Generals?
Yup. Here's what the trivia page for the Alpha series says:
