And once again, Sony forgets that Valve worked their butts off to bring Steam to PS 3, which would be an advantage worth bragging about, but no...
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelI'm just somewhat irritated that there are so many people here who can't acknowledge that the Wii U has its merits.
Why I am afraid of fences.Which implies E3 is ever anything worth watching. Its like a car show, for game!.
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackSo is Bioware not a victim then? They got hacked by the same people. Are they just like Sony? Absolutely. So why aren't they getting any hate? They had credit cards, too.
No. People aren't angry at Sony because of the breach. Not anymore. If they were, they'd be expressing the same feelings toward the other companies that got hacked.
They hate Sony because it's Sony. Sony is not alone in this. They should not be taking all the blame.
The people who hacked Sony hacked the CIA's website. There is nothing they could have done. T Hey don't deserve the hate.

Is there a common thread to your posts besides saying Sony a lot? Because you're all over the place.
Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit.I think the main problem is that the info from every single transaction and account ever made was on this one server.
Even if you haven't used the PSN in years you're at risk. Also they didn't tell anyone of the potential damage that had been dealt until the info could have already been put to use.

> They should not be taking all the blame.
It's their fault at least partially, but the main problem is their general policy lately.
I will consume not only your flesh, but your very soul.I'll admit that's a problem. One that is being worked on.
Point is, they couldn't have seen it coming. Companies have been slow to catch up in cyber security. If you're going to blame Sony, fine. But don't make it out as if they're alone.
Did we seriously have someone in this thread wishing death upon Nintendo's console division?
I have a message from another time...Let's make this perfectly clear.
The fact that the hacker group in question hacked a bunch of other things is meaningless. So they hacked a bunch of stuff, stole from people, etc etc. Yes, we know they're jerks and criminals. Why is this relevant?
Sony hate for the sake of hate is meaningless. The same goes for drinking Sony's kool-aid. The same also goes for hate towards Microsoft or Nintendo, or the drinking of said company's kool-aid. Anyone who's really that black-and-white about things needs to wake up and think.
So kindly drop the persecution complex.
That said, I do not like where Sony is going lately. Their security is clearly lacking. Most of the hacks that took place after the initial one were using very simple methods, which are equally as simple to protect against. Information was taken from websites by essentially knocking on the back door, checking if anyone was home, then opening the unlocked door and walking out with everyone's files. You trust a company to keep your information safe, and that means having better protection than the honor system.
I like where Sony was back in the PSX and PS 2 days. I want them to go back to that style: lots of good games, encouragement for a lot of third-party developers, and none of this ridiculous attitude they've been taking lately. When their security is up to snuff and they're making development on their systems a thing of beauty once more, I'll consider picking up their stuff again, but until then, my money's staying out of their pockets.
Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit.^^Yep.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelAgree with what Goggle Fox said. Never did like the console fanboys and their flame wars.
^So you like PC fanboys' flame wars then? x3
OFF TOPIC
There sure are a lot of Sony threads lately. All of them tending towards the same discussion. (hehe, discussion)
Should someone make a general Sony thread? I would, but I really don't care much for large companies and thread making.
ON TOPIC
Jack Tretton being Jack Tretton. Anyone not see that coming?
...Let us in...Since this is a Sony thread, I'll ask a half-on-topic question since it doesn't merit a new thread of it's own.................................
When Sony and Microsoft were starting to unveil the Move and Kinect, how come neither of them appeared to mentioned the word Nintendo or any of it's consoles? In interviews and such, they mentioned Move/Kinect as competitors once or twice, but how come the two of them did their darndest to avoid mentioning, or even hinting at either Nintendo or the Wii when they talked about their respective copies?
Collective butthurt over the Wii stomping both of them in console sales.
"Tyyr's a necessary evil. " SpiritDid you miss the part about Sony and Microsoft NOT COMPETING WITH NINTENDO THIS GEN?

About what that rep said, I'm afraid I'm gonna have to agree with him. The Wii U isn't exactly impressive from what I've seen.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!Hence why I was asking about "when they were first unveiled".
I always denied it, but it seems that there really seems to be rampant Sony hate in this forum. Really, the only thing, I get from this, is that Sony is a corporation like any other.
Oh well, fanboys gonna fanboy.
People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.I think I should start counting these sorts of threads. For amusement's sake.
As for the actual topic itself...It is silly business talk. Like much of that stuff it is retarded. Nintendo is also fairly retarded PR wise I am sure. Nintendo does make the shit I want though so meh on Sony. I will return to its clutches when I have a reason to do so.

If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahNintendo's PR is absolutely as aggressive. Reggie isn't known for the kid gloves. Lately, though, they've been wailing on Apple and Rovio for making headway into their market on portable casual games.
This is a dumb thread and I thought TV Tropes was better than childish console wars.
Little of what Sony has been saying or doing this year has made any sense. They lash out desperately at everything, and their security has been shown to be a wreck. Sony is not the victim of the hacks, here — the people whose money and information were stolen are the true victims.
As for the others, Nintendo has some neat stuff but no-one's entirely sure what it will be. Their conference was a mess, and they left people confused and mislead on what the new console will be capable of. Meanwhile, Microsoft... have nothing of interest to show for this year.
Overall, this E3 sucked.
