I dunno about Futurama — granted, I haven't seen much of it either, although I've loved the episodes I have seen. I guess I would say there's inherently more potential there than the Family Guy idea by virtue of having a fantastic universe and wacky characters to play around with, rather than a mundane universe spiced up with gay babies and talking dogs and whatnot.

The Firefly 'verse would be ripe for an MMO though. One of the big themes of the show was freedom and I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love to get the chance to go freedom-ing and space cowboy-ing across the 'verse in our own hunks-of-junk ships.

Didn't Futurama have a game at some point for Playstation 3? And it sucked?

[up][up] I think so, but I have heard that the cutscenes for that game are pretty funny.

Futurama PS 2 was a decently made game, with a typical futurama storyline rife with bonus humour and in-jokes.

Hm... I'm gonna wait and see if this has a Roleplay server before I make my decision to play it.

If it does happen, I'll play a Wrong Genre Savvy person who thinks he's in a Utsuge instead of a Comedy.

I know I'm 5 pages late to the party, but I'll add my obligatory "What the hell is this shit and who thought it up" comment.

Seriously, what the hell?

Can't think of anything witty, so have this instead...

So, at first, all I could say was, "What?"

But in all honesty, I'm intrigued. It probably won't be really great, but good for a laugh at least.

Futurama worked for a game because it has a deeper plot than "baby say poopy, dog talks, fat man does something random"

Futurama has a (semi-)deep plot? Don't get me wrong, I like the series, but the deepest the plots ever go is occasional call backs to previous episodes, some lengthier plots for the movies, and the rare character development episode that rarely ever occurs. It just has a better setting for a game since you've got a wide variety of planets allowing for flexible level design.

I'm a closed beta tester. I couldn't get past the first quest. It's a Find X quest, and finding X is much harder than it should be.

Oops. I might get fired now.

On the plus side, this could very well be the only video game where you can play as Adam West.

It's unbelievable that this has been around since September, and I only heard about it when they advertised it on TV two weeks ago. Anyway, it crashes a lot for me. Maybe it's my computer.

I've decided not to play it because I worry about the video player crashing my comp.
