You've sucked so hard the game pitties you.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."A little while ago I was thinking about Donkey Kong Jungle Beat and how the Wii port actually added a lives system, whereas the GameCube original didn't have one.
That seems silly to me, since lives are an outdated concept in general, but 1-up mushrooms are such an iconic part of Mario and I don't want to see them disappear forever. They're even fun to find while playing random levels in Super Mario Maker, where they're totally useless.

Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?Bandai Namco's Mario Kart GP VR demo
Huh. So that will be something new.
Also, what would the reaction be to Retro Studios taking control of the New Super Mario Bros. series from whatever part or subsidiary of Nintendo is currently making them?
The cries of "Wasted talent!" would deafen us all.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?True. I imagine that some people would say the same thing if Retro took control of Paper Mario from Intelligent Systems.

I'm not so sure about that. Most Paper Mario fans agree that the series has hit rock bottom. They'd probably be grateful to see such a well-regarded team take a crack at the series.
I wouldn't mind, but I skipped Sticker Star and thought Color Splash was pretty darn good, so my image of the series is not (yet?) ruined.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?I think it has more to with the management as much as the studio as I believe that it was the management who said to the series more in line with the main Mario games.
"We are just like Irregular Data. And that applies to you too, Ri CO. And as for you, Player... your job is to correct Irregular Data."Most of the "more vocal fans," at least. Probably best to remember that just because people like a game doesn't mean they'll go online gushing about it, while those who hate the game are probably going to be a bit more loud about it.
Are most of those 'vocal fans' American? If so, I could see Retro catering to them by giving Nintendo the figurative middle finger by making future Paper Mario games less in line with the main Mario games.

I really don't think Retro can give Nintendo the middle finger.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?I was speaking in the figurative sense. Essentially, Retro Studios would not use the formula set by Excrement Star and instead use what Paper Mairo 64 and The Thousand Year Door used instead.

How about Next Level Games just in case Retro isn't available? They could use better figures on their resume after the not-too-popular Federation Force.
Hmm, that could be interesting depending on how they do. By the way, I was thinking that if Nintendo wants something paper-related that's more in line with the main Mario games why don't they make Paper Luigi already?

You mean a game that follows Luigi's exploits from Thousand-Year Door? His epic quest to rescue Princess Eclair from the Chestnut King?
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?I meant that the formula used by Sticker Star is what Paper Luigi would use while Paper Mario gets its RPG Elements back. It could either be based on that or a completely original idea like the following:
A group known as the Fungiciders have attacked the Mushroom Kingdom and kidnapped Princess Peach. To the horror of the Mushroom Kingdom's citizens, Mario is part of the Fungiciders. It now falls to Luigi to rescue the princess and defeat his brother.

That sounds like a plot Nintendo would never approve of! Then again, I didn't think they'd ever give him a gun, either.
I'd honestly rather have Luigi's game be the deeper RPG, if only because Luigi is actually allowed to talk (even if they gave him a ridiculous Funetik Aksent in Color Splash).
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?So basically Nintendo would have to be insane to make a game where Mario betrays the Mushroom Kingdom, right?
It's doable, like if he's brainwashed or something (it's never too late to make the mind control helmet from The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 canon!), but "evil Mario" is such a fanfic and creepypasta cliche that I can't see them doing it even if they somehow thought it was a good idea.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?Interesting. On one hand what you are saying is valid. On the other hand though, Mario turning evil (temporarily, of course) and basing a Paper Mario game around this would let the fanbase of that series finally take their anger out on the Toad species.

But Toads are great...
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Sure, in most other Mairo games they are. Step into the Paper Mario fandom, however...
Seems like they need more costumes...and more Toadettes.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.To be fair, the Toads were diverse in the first two Paper Mario games and even the RPG but after that well.......>_>.

From what I've heard, nothing. You just have no more coins to lose upon losing a life.
"Hey, gimme a minute to get to know everyone, 'kay, Brainy?" "Of course, but please allow me to get a word in, too, bzz."
