It's the Santa Star Clause Spirits.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Shiver City is the place where you get the mushrooms after Chapter 7 is beaten.
"Thanks for the lesson. But I don't need you to tell me who I am."@thricecharming The toad mentions that the floor's wet, as is snow had melted everywhere, so I think a gift from the snwmen in return for giving them the hat and scarf. Try sleeping there after helping them but before going to shiver mountain and see if you get the items.
It has to be after you beat chapter 7. If the snowmen are the ones who give you the mushrooms, it's not telegraphed well enough.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?Well, never mind, then. To be honest, it always confused me as a kid as well, but the snowmen are the only ones that make sense, given what the toad says.
So, uh, Mario Sports Superstars released in the Americas today. Not that anyone seems to notice or care.
I'm pretty confused Nintendo decided to release this in possibly the most packed month of the year. The same month as a new console, the same week as Mario Run on Androidnote , and the same day as the Splatoon 2 testfire, to boot!

Yeah, this is more baffling than the simultaneous release of Super Mario 3D World and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.
I had completely forgotten Sports Superstars was even a thing, to be honest.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?Maybe Sports Superstars would've gotten my attention if they made it Mario Sports Charged and made every single sport have the Strikers aesthetic.
On another note, is it just me or are people actually starting to turn against Galaxy for being linear now that Odyssey was announced? It's not that major of a trend, but it's much getting less difficult to see than previously.
Not that I've noticed.
I don't see what all the fuss is about anyways. You can be happy to get something different from Mario without disliking the Galaxy games.
Different? I like Odyssey because it's a return to the 64/Sunshine experience that I've been wanting since Galaxy moved away from that.
Again, it's best to think of what kind of change is a good thing rather than that change is a good thing.

Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Being different doesn't necessarily mean something wholly new, going back to a previous model is a change of pace if you haven't used it for a long time.
Funny enough, Galaxy's jumping mechanics were a throwback to 64 when Sunshine moved away from it.
Change itself...doesn't.
I feel like the linearity-versus-openness dichotomy is more an equivalent exchange than a contest of strict superiority- There's a lot of benefits and flaws to both and they can't really be married because they're so radically different.
I sure said that!Well, Galaxy 1 did have a rather open hub world that was just fun to run around in, even though there were only 1-ups to find.
I think the best compromise is doing what Sunshine did: have exploration-based levels where you have to search for the goal, then when you reach that goal, have a linear platforming challenge as the second step to the star.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.As long as we don't have that Blue Coin horseshit there shouldn't be much backlash towards going for a Sunshine experience.
It's a minor aside, but- In a 2D or linear-style 3D game I'd really love it if F.L.U.D.D. were added as a power-up. Push enemies around on the ground and hover in midair!
I sure said that!We could also avoid having F.L.U.D.D. for that Sunshine experience...
Just more varied aesthetics for the tropical setting...
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Just because Isle Delfino didn't have things like a desert world, ice world, and sky world didn't mean it wasn't varied.
Every area felt like a living, breathing community, and they all featured various parts of what was a tourist trap island.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page. The best part about Sunshine is how interconnected the world is and how you can see various stages from other stages.
That and having the best hob world ever.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Yeah, Delfino Plaza was the best.
I love Peach's Castle but it feels so desolate in comparison, and there was nothing to do in the Comet Observatory or Faceship.
Of course, we don't know if this game will have a hub world. It may just be a world map for all we know.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I doubt there would be a desert in a tropical setting.
It did have a sky level, the Sand Bird area could've been made more expansive to be its own world.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Sunshine was diverse enough. Each level felt distinct despite all of them sharing the tropical island aesthetic, which is honestly pretty impressive.
FLUDD also let you do cool stuff, like letting you fool around just sliding on the ground.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Mario's mastery of hydroplaning is a tragically under-utilized facet of his skillset.
I sure said that!Okay, it's not Sunshine's fault.
It's the real world's fault for not having even more tropical paradise styles to be inspired from.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.
That reminds me... if you sleep in the Starborn Valley (or is it Shiver City?) Toad House immediately after beating the Crystal King, you get a huge batch of items instead of the usual potato. If you talk to the innkeeper after that, he says something like "Who could have left you all these gifts? Could it be...?"
What's the deal with that? I've never understood the implication. Is it a gift from the Star Spirits for saving them all? Is it Santa Claus?
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?
