I agree that skimpy clothing is not an excuse for rape, but treating it as completely irrelevant strikes me as dishonest. And the faulty logic you use is Not Helping Your Case.

It is irrelevant. No study has ever discovered a correlation between "skimpy" attire and being raped. People think it's just common sense that rapists would target women showing skin, but guess what? It doesn't actually happen. In fact, in order to believe that it does, you have to believe one of two things: a) that perfectly law-abiding men spontaneously decide to commit rape upon seeing cleavage or what-have-you, or b) that men who have already decided to commit rape choose a victim who looks as though she wants sex anyway. Both are pretty absurd if you think about it.

Showing off too much cleavage and/or leg? Come on, I never said it was an excuse, I just said that particular argument was flawed.

At least she had the decency to check, that ought to be appreciated.

Neo, rape victims are not raped because they are wearing "skimpy clothing". Most rape victims are in fact raped by someone they know. [1] It has nothing to do with what they are wearing. You're a guy. Don't you think your gender is better at controlling themselves than that?

How're we defining too much skin? People can have some wildly different interpretations on that.
