Game FA Qs seem to regard the Leo Cannon as the worst in the game. http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/997768-kid-icarus-uprising/63958680

I've never used it, but I hate cannons generally so wouldn't.

[up][up][up]I was actually reffering to the one that requires you to stock up to 300000 hearts with you. I've only gotten 4-5 9.0s done so far.

And as for worst weapon, I'd probably have to give that award to the Somewhat Staff. Haven't actually gotten a chance to use one with a decent build yet, but I have trouble imagining a stave that's apparently designed to work like a blade (oddly quite possibly one of the weakest weapon types in the game) - only with the exception of keeping an average stave's speed penalty - to be useful at all.

Note to self: Speed -4 is fine on a claw since you get a natural speed boost - but not on a blade.

Still, I'll move it off soon I hope (I fused my OD+7 palm to get it), figured I'm as well doing the "beat Kraken with a bullet blade" achievement now, even though bullet blades are awful.

I have a somewhat staff with OD +6, Recovery effect +4 and Standing cont. fire +4 (this has all the attributes I need for a solo weapon), and I can say it's just not good enough in well, everything really. It is indeed slow, has an effective shot range of only about 30m, and its attack power isn't even that great to compensate for it. Of course, because all the weapons are quite well balanced nothing really stands out, but IMO the game makes it very difficult to make this weapon shine.

I can't say anything about the Leo Cannon though. As for the worst solo weapon, though, I'd have to go with the Babel Club (though in multiplayer it's a very different story). A charge time of 5 seconds is simply way too impractical on any decent intensity, and during then you have no other means of attack except melee attacks, but its movement penalty means you can't dash up to enemies like with claws. For the all-round worst weapon, I'd probably say the somewhat staff too, but really I'd need to have tested all the weapons in the game to come up with a proper answer.

The Ancient Staff makes Pit move like molasses (Slowest movement in the game, in fact.). Like, really slow. Dashing speed being slower than most walking speeds slow. It's also very short-ranged since the projectiles stop and stay still. And said projectiles are weak, have a slow rate of fire, and don't home in or anything like that. And the charged shot is pretty bad.

At best you could use it to be a Stone Wall in multiplayer if you get good with its shield shot. But even then, you're better off using Guardian Orbitars if you really must have shields.

The Ancient Staff's shots actually do a lot more damage than normal when they hit something while in mid-expansion, which could work rather decently as a Fragile Speedster punisher (situational, I know, but it's something). Besides, their average shots aren't all that bad at damage either; mediocre for a stave, sure, but can theoretically be boosted into a fairly respectable 2HKO-attacker like most other long-to-mid-range-centric weapons of its type.

And shield shots are much more useful in air combat due to the wide area they cover, so I guess there's that as well. Of course, the issue of land combat and the weapon's slowness is still rather prominent, though the same thing could be said for most other staves in general.

It's functional in multiplayer, but yeah, I'd avoid using the Ancient Staff in solo.

I sure said that!

Wow, my luck with the shop keeps on going. This weapon is costing 102700, so I'll need to do the "9.0 chapter 1, die on Twinbellows, quit, repeat" trick a lot as I only have 44000 to my name, but it's worth it.

Leo Cannon, Ranged 1.5*, OD+8, Knockback defence +2, Paralysis +3, Shot range +2, Forward Dash Charged Shot +2, Forward Dash Continuous Fire +3.

Holy God, if those were artillery claws...

Fuse it into Artillery Claws?

I just checked the fusion calculator. To make that Leo into some Artilleries, you'd need some Centurion Orbitars.

That being said, it's not guaranteed that all of those nice stats would transfer to the Claws...

That's the thing, getting artillery claws from it is easy enough. Them being good claws with the same abilities - or even most of them - is not. I've found by the way you can easily enough get 15k hearts in 5 minutes with the first chapter, as long as you have HB+4 (power) and Heart Bonus+3 on the weapon. More, if the weapon is strong enough to kill everything on 9.0 in the flying section (I tend to get about 75 of the 92 enemies in the air).

Yep, I'll go with Ancient Staff being worst for single player. I used it for the treasure hunt where you have to beat the Aurum Core with it, and I was crying the whole land segment.

As for multiplayer, either Bomber Arm or Leo Cannon from what I've heard of Game FA Qs.

Yeah, I think it'd be better if treasure hunts were done in the style of event matches in Smash Bros. You can select any objective directly from the menu, get teleported to the level segment in the objective (if applicable) with required difficulty setting, and get restarted if you fail.

Well, I'm guessing that playing through the level with that weapon is supposed to be part of the challenge. That said, you can use Boss Battle mode to the same effect unless it specifically says which chapter.

You can also play on 0.0 unless it specifically says the intensity too. It's how I did beating the Phoenix with the Doom Cannon, among others

I only went on difficulties like 2.0 for the "beat it in X minutes" or "don't get hit". Even then, Chapter 14 took forever to go through without getting hit.

8 is still the only chapter I haven't no-damaged yet. Furthest I got was that room with the spiraling staircase. Got sucker punched by a yellow Space Pirate.

My Rose Staff is really good for no-damage runs. With the powerup that makes you powerful until you get hit (Which means you failed the challenge anyway), it OHKO's just about every enemy in the game on 2.0 difficulty. And Phosphora went down in 3 or 4 hits.

I have no idea how I'm going to manage any of the "don't get hit" ones. 18 in particular - no chance.

18 has the saving grace that it's possible on 0.0 difficulty. I got it on my first try.

Finally unlocked the Palutena Bow. I'd been procrastinating on this one for a while, but in the process of taking it on I also unlocked a couple songs in the Music Gallery (Boss Battle 2 and Hades' Infernal Theme), while also finding the Pisces Chamber. I'd say this was a good couple of days.

[up] Congrats!

Finally managed to complete Chapter 19 on 9.0 with a club! After a painfully long fusion process I finally found a Magnus Club with 3.5 stars in ranged and melee, OD +6, Evasion +3 and Recovery Effect +4. But god damn, that was by far the hardest challenge I've ever faced.

I'm also quite close to completing all chapters on 9.0 now...but the last few hurdles are going to be very difficult. I've now 9.0'ed all chapters except 9, 18, 24 and 25; all of which are huge challenges.

Actually, I didn't find 9 or 18 that hard. Sure, 9's air battle can be hard, but once you get on the ground it's not too bad. And for 18, you just need to remember how Magnus works.

9 was hellish for me on 7.0, until I took to heart the lesson that not everything needs to die, and avoided any dangerous fights that I could. Made 9.0 a lot easier. 18 is just generally tricky, but I didn't have a ridiculous amount of trouble with it.

Yeah, using Magnus is my problem - no extra defense or powers sad

As for Chapter 9, I can't even get past the underworld gatekeeper tongue - though in fairness I've only had two 9.0 attempts at it.
