Driver: San Francisco

The only announcement I was excited for this E3 and I missed everything yesterday. So does anyone know of any new info?

Wow... it's already Nintendo Hard to drive around there and find parking when doing it slowly. I only ever go there on foot (via subway). I can only imagine what it will be like to race through there.

I really hope this game is good though, but all I know about it is the jumping from car to car thing and Tanner (the main character) being in a coma. Have they said anything new this year yet?

Looks pretty meh to me, so far anyways.

I feel sorry for the series. Its imitator ended up overtaking it in every aspect.

You have no idea how much it pissed me off when X-Play called Driv3r a GTA Clone

Up until Driver: Parallel Lines, Driver had better driving and up until GTA 4, Driver's always had a far better story.

Agreed, but I have to admit, no Driver will ever be as good as the first one. And for all intents and purposes, the series is doomed from ever being taken seriously again, thanks to GTA. (A series I'm not a big fan of. Blame that on spending hours at a cousin's house watching him run over pedestrians ad nauseum. Maybe I should try out the games myself)

I think Driver 2 was better, but that might be bias for playing it first. Driv3r had a ton of work put into it, great style, great voice actors, great music, attention to detail. The only thing it really needed worked on was the shooting (but GTA had that problem as well back then).

If they can keep the things that made the series great, they'll already have a good game. I just wonder about this body hopping mechanic.

I thought being on foot was pointless since it was just an in limbo thing to needing to steal a new car. Granted, lots of missions require you to keep the same car, but in other missions, if you were high on damage, just switch cars. boring.

I liked the switch cars thing for Driver 2, but that was for the Take A Ride mode. It added to the intensity of being chased by the cops since you couldn't get out of the car while being chased, but if you did get away you could switch to another car and keep playing around.

I could see a little bit of fun experimentation with the new body hopping mechanic, creating car accidents and whatnot.

Holy crap, that's quite a list.

I need to keep an eye out for this game if it ends up on Steam...

As long as the game lets me drive around in the DeLorean pretending I'm Marty McFly, I'm gonna be fine.

Three Trans Ams and not a single one is third or fourth gen.

I'm just (pleasantly) surprised that the Cadillac CTS-V is in there.

Also, sadly, the only Lamborghini Diablo in there is the VT and not the excellent SV.

They're missing a lot of the cars that people actually drive around SF! Where's the cheap Hondas and Toyotas?

Why would you want to drive a car in a video game you can drive in real life?

It kinda makes sense for there to be cool cars in San Fransisco.

So you can make them crash, of course.

EDIT: Make them crash without actually dying or getting arrested in Real Life, of course.
