I'd recommend that you take that to YKTTW. It seems to be a popular way to make props. I'm hollering for a clock though.

What would be the best way to fix the page?

I Know That Gun is now a redirect for Improperly Placed Firearms, its laconic is on the cutlist and the new laconic for Improperly Placed Firearms mentions how the weapons do not fit the setting of the work. The wicks should be fixed and cleaned up to fit that description, there are notes about the change on the Renamed Tropes page and in the renamed tropes thread, and I sent a report to move the discussion page.
I think there are a couple of remaining issues though. First, it would probably be a good idea to check the page's description and examples now that the rename has been completed since I did quite a bit of editing and I am not sure it was all appropriate. Would it be a good idea to cut the Real Life section? It seems a bit unnecessary to me personally, but I am not sure about that.
Second, it is worth it to make a trope about "a (fictional) prop gun is made of a real weapon or a model of a real weapon"*? If so, the following would be some examples for that trope.
