Most of it was in relation to Venom's visits to Paz's hospital room, his multiplayer lines, what he says when he scolds a buddy or they die (the game originally had perma-death, remember?), and a few other random things. The cinematics apparently didn't lose anything.
You know that crazy line the AI Colonel says in MGS 2? "A purple stuffed worm in flap jaw space with a tuning fork doing a raw blink on hairai kiri rock?"
Someone decided to try and make an image as literal as possible of what he said. It's not what I'd imagined, but hey, he was speaking gibberish after all!
I enjoyed MGS V, even if I'll admit that the plot was pretty confusing.
Like, Skull Face goes from a genuinely menacing, heartless and creepy villain who torture children to an hammy saturday cartoon villain who plans to literally kill English.
Then again, he probably went batshit because he lost his ability to speak his native language.
Wut ?
Fallout 2? More like Fallout 2 bad.Skullface was under-utilized to the point where I thought the guy might be nothing more than Venom Snake's imagination. But nope, he was real, just scarcely used, and lacking any true detail or depth until you finally unlock the Truth Tapes.
Oh, and the plot of MGSV makes more sense when you realize that it's more about the loss of one's sense of "Self" and feeling incomplete instead of revenge. Revenge is just the reaction everyone has when they lose their 'Self' identity, either due to cultural conquest, military training, obsession, us vs them mentalities, or even total brainwashing. The whole "incomplete" theme is a bit more obvious, what with the eventual loss of Quiet near the end, the unfulfilling ending, the missing chapters, and the tons of open questions and interpretations.
Hence the title Phantom Pain.
Oh really when?Well, that and the robot arm.
I sure said that!To be fair many of the villains are ridiculous and hammy.
"Eratoeir is a Gangsta."I thought harakari rock was a rock upon which you perform harakari, not a rock performing harakari upon itself.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Something that's always bugged me is how Liquid takes Snake apart in this fight.
I've been thinking about how Big Boss got ascribed Memetic Loser status after V thanks to Venom being the one to die in the first game.
Isn't Big Boss still incredibly tough, and capable of bench pressing a giant robot foot?
Big Boss got ascribed Memetic Loser status after V thanks to Venom being the one to die in the first game.
Like what the glorious f'ck. That is so far from... who would even come to that conclusion? Did MG 2 Big Boss suck eggs or something?
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!No, some people were just "Lel he lost to aerosol, what a loser" and "Medic did all the stuff BB is famous for"... Nevermind that Venom only works because Big Boss was already famous for all the stuff he did before GZ.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Plus incredible mental fortitude for surviving a self aware coma with sanity and a newfound sense of Morality.
Really they are both awesome. A operation with them working together?
And they'll counter that by saying Quiet didn't have superpowers yet, but did when Medoc beat her; which is fair because it's true, but it doesn't say anything against John either. They also argue that while John was killed by aerosol, Medic was taken out by rockets and stuff - which also ignores that 1) John explicitly survived, as seen in 4 where we learn he was forced into a Johnny Got His Gun situation for two decades with his limbs amputated and later replaced with Solidus'; and 2) the only thing more ridiculously OP than one man on foot with a rocket launcher is Raiden.
Also John is able to effortlessly disarm David and give him the CQC Hug with transplanted limbs shortly after waking up from a two decade long coma.
Edit: Partially Zandatsu'd
Thats basically what the MSX games are: John emerges from the shadows to build up Foxhound, while Medic goes into the shadows to build up Outer Heaven. When David proves to be a Spanner in the Works and kills Medic, John moves in to rescue everybody from Outer Heaven before NATO bombs the crap out of them and they go to build up Zanzibar Land (which may or may not be in Tselinoyarsk).
It's basically the (in-universe) point of the Truth tape: they are equally great, both worthy of the legend - they are two bodies, but they are both the Big Boss.

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyI suspect that that it also had to do with the hero of worship Big Boss that got dispelled in the Phantom Pain. Big Boss is good soldier but he isn't a demi god and not to mention that his whole ideology is hypocritical and selfish.
"Eratoeir is a Gangsta."RE: Big Boss as Memetic Loser due to Solid V retconning the boss fights in the MSX games: Do note that it was Gameplay and Story Segregation in those fights. For what happened in Outer Heaven, retcon or not, one RPG-7 shot was probably enough to take out Big Boss there. Likewise in Zanzibar Land with the lighter and spray, given that Miller told Snake to use his brain there.

Wait, what? I didn't know about this. I knew about Venom but I thought that idiocy was contained in just MGSV? It is supposed to continue to the original MG games?
Why the fuck was Big Boss in a coma and all fucked up requiring the body parts of his sons, then? I thought it was because he got burned/blown up/shot.
Venom took five rockets to the face, Big Boss lost to Aerosol.
Just sayin'
Hey, getting set on fire fucking hurts. :/
but HOW?Plus Big Boss lived while the Medic died.
Getting fire on face definitely hurts. Getting hit with rocket once requires lots of glue to fix it.
I still question the status because The Medic never prevented a robot from stepping on him with his bare hands.
EXACTLY
Did we all forget that or something?
Right, just to spite everyone who thinks that way of Big Boss I'm gonna forget Raiden ever became a badass floppy cyber ninja and say he was always a whingy ineffective part, see how THEY like it.
I actually would consider buying the game again if they uncut Sutherland's lines. He was damn good even with what little we got to hear.
