A lot of people who suggest a game about The Boss seem to want a squad-based shooter with the rest of the unit. I... would disagree with that approach.
I like the idea of playing as The Boss and everyone else, but I could see it working a bit like Peace Walker or Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days. Like a mission-based game where you control one of the characters at a time, and might be able to head out with a few more of the characters as AI-controlled support.
Kojima doesn't even want to do a game about The Boss. He handed off a plot outline to a team that apparently got wet feet.
But yeah, a game starring her shouldn't play exceptionally different from any of the other Solid titles. Of course, you know what setting a Metal Gear game in WW 2 means... Crazy Nazi Castle Special Force Boss Squad. Possibly including a werewolf. YES.
On that note, I still want a game where you can play as all the bosses from the franchises' history. Including the AC!D games. Including the NES games. Freakin' everyone. Maybe as an asymmetrical multiplayer game...?
"I AM HEAVY WEAPONS RAVEN. AND THIS... IS MY VULCAN!"
I call dibs on Ocelot!
Before Peace Walker, I wanted Kojima to do a prequel with The Boss, but after Peace Walker I'm not sure I want it anymore.
And I think the Boss works better as a NPC, just like how Solid Snake got instantly 10 times more badass when you're watching him through Raiden's POV, as a PC some of her "mysticism" would be gone.
Yes but think about calling The Pain on the codec and getting highly in-depth descriptions of weird bugs in your area.
eh, i can do without a boss game. though i would have said that about portable ops and peace walker too. i don't really care for prequels in general.
If the series had ended with MGS 4, I would've accepted that.
But then Rising happened.
And I want, desperately, another Rising game, because god dammit I want to see what happens next in the story!
I think Rising is exactly what Metal Gear needs to be. Not exactly goofier or more actiony, but more expanding the story rather than continuing it. Instead of rebooting or mucking up the world set up by Kojima Konami should explore it through the eyes of people in different situations, and use it to explore different genres.
nyo ho hoSo. I bought, Metal Gear Solid on the PS 3. On Saturday evening.
I spent 11 hours yesterday beating it. With the exception of the 2nd phase of the Rex fight.
Am I sad?
Well met Friends! I say well met!In the best way. Thankfully, The Best Is Yet To Come.

Statement from Konami(the former Kojipro members and Kojima seems to not be allowed access to email or social media):
"The social networking account has also been changed, but the new account has the same Metal Gear team members as the previous one, and is updating with the latest news. As the team members who are tweeting is unchanged, we would like your continued support and follows.''
“Naturally director Kojima is playing the game, checking all the small details and giving directions to the staff as the title continues to completion. Bringing the thoughts and ideas of director Kojima in an open world game of the size of TPP is incredibly difficult, the director and the team that’s been there from the start are coming together as one as they aim to finish the game, so please give them the support they need.”

I don't like to get too reactionary and loud about stuff - not saying that I don't get reactionary and loud from time to time - but the way Konami is handling this is disgusting. It seems like they're holding Kojima and the team hostage.
Like the wiping of Kojima's name from the promo materials is one thing, but keeping them off the internet and other communicative devices? That's shady as fuck and I don't like that at all.
I also don't like that they retroactively removed Kojima's name from Ground Zeroes and the Legacy Collection.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre Adventureholy fuck, who's cereal did Kojima shit in to get all this crazy ass shit dumped on him?
13 years ago, he tricked the head of Konami by setting him up with a woman who was actually like 5,000 lizards stuffed into a trench coat. It's only been after 13 years and three children that he's noticed all the lizards.
He didn't rike it.
nyo ho hoApparently some new guy became the CEO of Konami in the beginning of March. Said he was going to make some changes and stuff.
...Does anyone know what's happened to Konami's stocks while this stuff has been going on?
And, I mean. The Silent Hill series has been dicked over a lot. I get the distinct impression that a lot of this happened because of some curse or some shit. Kojima deciding to help out with that series.
Probably not, but.
Someone make a petition to STOP THE METAL GEAR MOVIE FROM COMING OUT!
We don't need a(nother) stain on this series.
Those never works.
Sony is doing the movie(along with all other classic video game based movies like Sonic and Ratchet & Clank)which I hadn't actually heard about yet.
David Hayter is still the only Snake in my mind.
Indeed. Hayter is the only Solid Snake I'll ever need.
I can deal with his dad being all over the place, but seriously, Solid Snake is Hayter and Hayter is Solid Snake.
I sure said that! All hope abandoned right out of the gate. Phenomenal.
[burrows herself in other interests to forget]

I kinda wish Kojima had been able to do that one about the Boss.
Kinda.
