In Peace Walker yeah. Once you've done enough damage to the vehicle, killed or KOed his support or lasted long enough, the vehicle's driver or pilot wil pop out of the door to have a go at you personally. Whe you kill or tranq him, his vehicle falls to the ground without exploding and you've successfully captured it. Just give it time to get repaired and then you can deploy it on Outer Ops.
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowAs an aside- Don't bother with helicopters in Outer Ops. They're way too fragile to be helpful compared to tanks.
I sure said that!I...I have never, ever had that happen. Ever.
I wouldn't be surprised. Most players' first instinct is to blow the hell out of the gunship/tank that's raining death upon them, using the most efficient anti-air ordnance available (i.e. rockets/missiles), until it's stopped raining death upon them. Which usually means complete destruction of said gunship/tank.
Understandable reaction, really. In most shooter games, even ones that allow you to ride in a vehicle, you wouldn't be able to commandeer an enemy-driven/piloted vehicle so easily; it would be far less risky/more feasible to just blow it up and take the next available empty vehicle instead. That's assuming that driving/piloting a vehicle is even worth it outside mandatory vehicular combat/travel sequences.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.... and this works not just with armored tanks/troop carriers, but air vehicles too?
...but there's that one helicopter that seems to just endlessly spam reinforcements every little while... [frustrated]
If your scanner is fully upgraded you can tell how many troops are left. Higher level fights it's usually like 20 something before they're all done.
You also gotta bring the vehicle down to about a quarter of it's health before you can capture it.
Oh really when?... I will pick up Peace Walker again sometime soon.
Probably after I get through Persona 3 Portable.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. It's fine, we can just throw them overboard when the mission is over.

It's Happening!
Whoopee.
Stubbornly not a part of the Rising fanbase for closely-guarded and not at all biased reasons
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Also, the Patriots are officially all gone now. Yay!
It's 2015 now.
But their memes remain...
Third Impact time everybody!
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyIIRC, Third Impact is supposed to be on New Year's Day.
Also, REVENGEANCE 2 YES YES YES YES YES!!!!! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOREVER! <was not enthused about more Big Boss games>
How can you not be enthused by more SNAAAAKE EATER?
In what other game can you play as a Bad Ass, cigar-smoking super soldier who fights through waves of enemy opposition to ultimate coming face-to-face with a giant, nuclear weapon?
Raiden is an even more unstable killing machine than he was previously?

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Wait... Revengance 2 is a thing?
I thought it was Revengance fans screeching for a second like Half life 3....
You're joking... Exactly what kind of plot is left for them to follow? Shoehorning that somehow the Patriot AI survived and are gonna kill everyone?
I am the once and future king.Raiden is hunted down as a terrorist for killing the near-entirety of the Denver Police Department; assaulting the headquarters of the leading defense contractor and cyborg equipment supplier (and sub-contractor of the fore-mentioned Denver PD), slaughtering the near-entirety of its local security staff, and theft of their property; destroying two U.S.A.F. MQ-320s; cratering a street; grand theft auto; and murdering the CEO and other chief officers of Desperado Enforcement, LLC (convinction for the assault of an American Air Base located in Pakistan not-withstanding)?
There was also that time he murdered Colorado Senator and shoo-in 2020 Presidential Candidate Steven Armstrong.
Oh, and assuming World Marhsall has good editing skills, they can provide video evidence of Raiden bisecting an orphan.
To everyone in the U.S. who lacks context for his actions, Raiden is pretty much a Complete Monster.
