Gee. Seems like it's plagued by the same problem as Getting Crap Past the Radar, only instead of dubious innuendo, it's violence.
I guess there's nothing to it but to clean up the bad examples and perhaps add a note in the article along the lines of "try not to be so shocked that a character died messily in an R-rated movie". Only nicer.
Removed the ones I know don't fit. I suppose some other tropers should check it, I don't know all the works listed here
"Take your (...) hippy dream world, I'll take reality and earning my happiness with my own efforts" - BarkeyThank you! About time somebody did.
I would sort though the Anime examples but its murky as hell on it with What Do You Mean, It's for Kids? is in full effect. (I am glad there isnt a Gundam entry on there because sorting that out on who it is really aimed at is really murky although there were some really ugly ones in the early series.)
The Jo Jos Bizarre Adventure was correct to be removed since it is for sure Seinen

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!I'm not sure about long running shounens like Naruto or Dragon Ball. I don't watch them so I don't know much but IIRC they are meant for kids while having some nasty stuff. Again, help needed here
"Take your (...) hippy dream world, I'll take reality and earning my happiness with my own efforts" - BarkeyWell the word Shounen means its published in a boys mag while Seinen means its in a mag aimed at men 18+ the easy way to figure out which is which. (Shōjo and Josei for girls respectively.)
Its the ones that do not have a Manga attached to them are the Murky ones and the ones that are hotly debated on like Gundam which is aimed at anyone who will buy Gunpla model kits.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon![[Shounen]] seems to be a pretty large and diverse group though. There are some tame shounen anime (probably the most known example in the West would be Pokemon anime) and some that would be classified as something for teens or young adults here. I removed Full Metal Alchemist from this article mostly because it has a lot of violence + some more difficult things - from our perspective it's not a kids show.
"Take your (...) hippy dream world, I'll take reality and earning my happiness with my own efforts" - BarkeyFullmetal Alchemist is very much meant for young to mid teens (with some older demographics as well) and is marketed as such and all the games got rated Teen in the US it just got rather brutal for even Shounen.
What Do You Mean, It's for Kids? for anime and manga is iffy at times.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!True, I've read somewhere that the Japanese have much less strict ratings and allow for a lot more things in kids' shows than we do. I think we'll need Useful Notes on this
"Take your (...) hippy dream world, I'll take reality and earning my happiness with my own efforts" - BarkeyThe Comicbook examples might be iffy as well. Mainstream superhero comics like Marvel and DC definitely aren't written to be family friendly, though it could depend on the series.
So the best thing to do would be to remove bad or iffy examples?
We're everything brighter than even the sunDid a general clean up and purge the other day. Anyone have any particular issues with the current page?
According to the description, it's a violent death in family friendly media. Many examples are from... not very family friendly media. The Dark Knight, 2001ASpaceOdyssey, Full Metal Alchemist, Sweet Home and [[Felidae]] are the ones that caught my attention but probably there's more.
