The difference is that there are very few lesbian characters out there, especially when compared to the billions of heterosexual characters. If someone draws Johnny Bravo kissing a guy, it doesn't really matter. But when someone draws one if the few canonically lesbian characters out there slobbering all over a dude's dick, its really upsetting. Straight people don't get told "you'll settle down with a man someday", lesbians hear it constantly. A lesbian will be told that she "just hasn't met the right guy", but a straight dude won't.

So drawing a lesbian character sleeping with a dude tells lesbians "you aren't really gay, lesbians actually want to fuck men."

and the character in question is Undyne from Undertale.

Quite honestly explicit art of that game makes me very uncomfortable to begin with

I respect that that is the message you receive, but I think the intent was more "I want to see my favorite characters doin' it, and my favorite characters are a het pair." Or less charitably, "I wanna see my favorite character doin' it, and het pairings are what gets me going."

I guess I just look forward to the day when I can get through an entire day without whining about shit no-one cares about.

Deeble; just go to a med center, get yourself evaluated, and acquire some hormones. It'll take you a few months, but it's worth it. If you are too anxious or financially unstable to do that, work on making yourself look more subtly feminine.

Is there a term for people who are against homosexuality in general, yet still are against prosecution of gay people and support LGBT rights? Just asking, since the rest of my family falls into this category.

Okay, do this. Become a vegetarian, or develop a diet that's not heavy on bread or protein. You'll lose about ten pounds, mostly from your face and limbs. Because you're not taking in much protein, none of it will contribute to muscle mass. You'll look more feminine.

Okay. Having a proper talk is good. It sounds like they want to listen, which is the best thing to start with. Just talking through it all can help them get a good idea of what you want, and can help you as well.

Hopefully I can do a bit better than a long string of "I don't know"s and the evasive stuff I've gone with before.
