I'm not 100% sure but I think that was Tom Kane as the doctor in charge of the injection that Krieger screwed up.

God dammit Krieger!

Well, as bad as things look, I think they will pull it off, since if they don't it's the end of their careers, and I don't think this is the last season.....

Is it?

Show hasn't really had the same zing to it this season. Seasonal Rot? Perhaps.

I've been liking it as an attempt to return to roots while respecting the way it's grown.

I wouldn't be sorry to see them get dumped by the CIA though.

I suspect the running joke about Woodhouse going missing is probably just that Reed has run out of ideas of what to do with him, and wrote him out in a manner appropriate to Archer's relationship with him.

I mean, it's probably worth pointing out that George Coe is 85, that his last credit is from 2013, and that Tom Kane took over for him last year. I deeply suspect that at this point Coe is just ready to retire, and Adam Reed decided at some point during Archer Vice that it might be more respectful to retire the character with him.

It's probably also worth pointing out that, after Season 2, Woodhouse's appearances started topping out at four episodes a year.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.

We have had Archer work as an independent agency for four seasons, then they were a drug cartel for one, then they were CIA lackeys for a season, now they're going to do something else for next season. Probably.

How many people were in that room when the sub, you know... I think it was just the patient and the guy voiced by Professor Utonium.

....

Well, there we go.

I wanted them to do it. I mean, watching them fail all the time, all the time, gets boring after a while. While I admit the journey is a hilarious one, I kinda want there to be a point to all their efforts, so seeing them all fail miserably again and get kicked out was pretty frustrating to be honest.

......I still laughed mind you.

The sub expanding scene was definitely the highlight of the episode. I think it's the first time a Fantastic Voyage type adventure ended in such a way.

I wonder what the gang will do now. I really hope it isn't another season of Archer Vice...

In a perfect world, I think I'd like to see them go the Burn Notice route. Taking up odd jobs and the like while trying to get back into the espionage game. I'd kill for a Bruce Campbell cameo!

[up][up] I was thinking the same really. More The A(rcher)-Team here.

To note, I actually think they're right about being setup to fail. Hell, as a whole, the Archer team were pretty competent on this job. Krieger aside, obviously.

That is true.

Hell, they did destroy the thing, despite Tv's Michael Grey using up their air.

The one screw up Archer did was venting the Air lock before they could get moving, forcing them to stand still stay in the body longer.

[up] And really, that was more a design oversight than a screw-up by Archer...

Which I believe Archer even pointed out.

So really, outside of Krieger, nothing that went wrong was their fault. I wonder if that scientist lady even gave Cyril the right directions....

Either that, or he got them confused again. It's not made clear.

Krieger got them stuck in the wrong insertion point, but they handily made up for that.

They lost oxygen time due to having a stowaway who wasn't Cheryl or Pam for once, but I guess they made most of it back from the EVA because it didn't seem to actually affect them.

I didn't catch why the laser turret failed, but they executed the backup no problem.

Archer started the airlock purge before he was told about the design flaw that delayed them.

They didn't make it in time because of the delay that wasn't the fault of anyone at ISIS.

Krieger destroyed the computer that held the secret of the miniaturization process.

So basically Krieger is the only member of the team who deserves to get burned here, but because he's an ISIS employee, the CIA still has an excuse to dump them all.

The turret failed because a white blood cell or whatever destroyed it.

So yeah, they didn't really do anything wrong except for Krieger. In fact, that actually makes it sadder.

In the end, it was really the design flaw that killed them (and that scientist). If Archer had been told that before hand, they'd had made it.

Here's an article about that and the easter eggs from this season.

In addition, here are some teases for the next season.

Yeah, I don't know why those "-%20"s are getting added to the URL when they're clicked. Just erase them and they should work fine.

It's in the wiki code. Any string too long to fit in a single line gets a space shoved in to break it up, even if it's a link and not even displayed.

It's probably going to get fixed eventually, but for now, use a link shortener like bit.ly.

Honestly, I thought it was fitting that they constantly failed this season. Looking back on the earlier seasons, how often would they massively screw up only to succeed by some Ass Pull? To me, this Season was all about them trying to go back to their roots, only this time they didn't have the benefit of Plot Armor.

They haven't consistently succeeded at anything other than surviving in a long time.

The gang has failed on multiple occasions, just not on such a gloriously epic and horrendous fashion. I don't think you can top exploding a man from the inside via expanding submarine.

Is not impressed.
