In-universe sexual tension between characters who are relatives should be an acceptable topic.
Personally I'd prefer to call these tropes something other than "yay". The name look very much as if it was about an audience reaction.
The large amount of wank (in both senses of the term) that page produced suggests otherwise.
This. No offense to Fast Eddie, but owning the site does not automatically translate to owning the tropes that the site is supposed to serve as a sort of unofficial encyclopedia of - last I checked, neither encyclopedias nor their creators owned the topics that they discussed.
But that is neither here nor now; if someone wishes to open a separate thread on this topic, they're free to do so. We are here to discuss how we can salvage Incest Yay. Has someone managed to find a viable cached copy of the article, BTW?

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Use Google.
Don't suppose anyone has actually pmed Fast Eddie to ask if he would mind a ykttw being run called Incestuous Subtext or anything on the basis that it really is a trope and you really can find obviously intentional examples of it? Easiest example being Ore Imo.
Already did. All it gives me is a copy taken on 20 May, four days after the cut. Needless to say, it's completely empty. Had I been aware of the cut at the time, I would've gotten a cache copy right away before Google managed to update its database.
Don't think so. I think the problem is that everyone is afraid of getting punished for accidentally offending him by asking.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Use the wayback archive then. It might be smaller, but its better then nothing.
Tried that one, too. It only has the September/October/November versions, and it keeps giving me the Content Warning page instead because back then, it redirected to FetishFuel/IncestYay; no matter what I click, it gives me an error page. Try for yourself.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. What the- But I just- But it- ARRRRRRGHHHHHH! <Author Avatar smashes head against wall>
.... Okay, we at least got part of the page salvaged. Now we need to decide what to do with the trope.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Regarding the above, Eddie has officially promised not to smite anybody with the Bolt of Divine Retribution just for asking questions. Feel free to PM him.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"In that thread from the Google indecent, he said something about all cut pages being viewable by him, so if we can convince him, we can revert the whole page.
Thanks, Fighteer; that's a major relief. Does he have specific topics regarding the wiki that he would refuse to discuss, perchance?
.... I so did not know that! I thought cutting a page meant everything on it got purged, not getting locked and made perma-invisible until otherwise stated! Stuff like this needs to be stated more clearly, don't you think?

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Well, I think its more of a safety measure, so if he clicked the cut button for Big Bad for some reason, he could revert it.
I don't think this is the proper thread to be discussing general policy issues. I said he won't ban you; I didn't say he would necessarily be receptive to your suggestions.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Right. Forget I even asked that.
So... Back on topic: I've recently check the list of cut articles, and found Incest Yay's entry. The stated reason for cut was "too many pervs". I never frequented the trope page, so I can't say anything about the degree of perverted natter in the article; can anyone here who's been to the page before the cut took place enlighten us to the particulars, so that we can decide how to address the problem and then take the proposal to Eddie for a de-cut request?

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. Some Curators would probably be a big help.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!No amount of curation would do. The badness is inherent.
Well Subtext is Subtext and Shippers like to ship it...
EDIT: Hmm it might be tweaking the page a bit but in series examples would be trope worthy (Like the Clannad example) as well as Recent developments in To Love RU.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!I sent a PM to Fast Eddie about the possibility of a neutral ykttw entry about incestuous subtext. It's probably best to see what he thinks of it before getting too worked up about this.
Thumbs up for Incestuous Subtext ykttw. Just make sure it's worded so as to make it clear that it is not a shipping trope.
What about In Series Incest Shippers? I mean there is that one scene in Clannad where he dreamed of two other people committing incest then there is Momo in To Love RU that is flat out trying to get Mikan and Rito into this (By any means).
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!In story shippers, no. In story shippers noting an actual event and interpreting it like this, yes.
So Fast Eddie was the one who came up with Nudge!
Perhaps he'll has to slow down sometimes, then.
And I agree with you in full. Sometimes one man's decision isn't the best one.
