As soon as Hakumen saw the cannons pointed at the two vessels, he knew nothing good was going to come of this. Even though he saw that they were not yet ready to fire, it was patently obvious that one wrong move and they would be sunk.

So once more, he had no choice but to go the diplomatic route.

"Most of us are flesh," he called out to the guards. "We are not here to fight. We wish to land our ship."

"Stealing is a crime and drugs is a crime too BUT if you steal drugs the two crimes cancel out and it’s like basically doing a good."

Oh, perfect Jim thought sarcastically. The guards were asking them if they were flesh or metal. They probably meant if the group were robots. Judging by the appearence of the guards, Jim guessed they were on the non-robot side of preferrence. Although given how Extremus was, Jim didn't completely disregard the possibility that they were actually robots designed to look exactly like people. Like Jenny, only less obvious.

Jim supposed it was good that he was no longer in his large metal armor, but not being stuck in a suit at all might have been best. He didn't bother answering the guards. The suit would force him to yell so loud as to practically tear his vocal cords out, and Hakumen already responded to them anyway. He tried nodding, to agree with Hakumen, but without a flexible neck area Jim had to kind of move his entire upper body a little bit; which wasn't exactly clear at a glance that it was intended as nodding.

Lee walked over to 47, spotting him by Minako. When they paused long enough for him to speak, he would say, "47, I am very sorry for attacking you. I was not in control of my actions, but that doesn't excuse what I did." bowing the whole time.

Kyle's eyes widened in alarm as he saw the weapons being pointed at their small "fleet". Assuming he was successful in trying to slow down the Raven's Claw, he raised his arms in an attempt to show that he meant no harm, and said, "Calm down. As he -" Kyle nodded at Hakumen. "- said, most of us are organic. Now, can you please stop pointing your weapons at us? This really isn't the way to make a good first impression."

He hoped that saying they were mostly 'fleshies', as the man put it, wasn't going to lead to his body suddenly having a lot more ventilation than any human body was supposed to have. Something about the question piqued his curiosity, too. Why did they want to know whether or not they were artificial? Were they as distrustful of droids as some people in his home universe were? There was only one way to find out, but that could wait until he wasn't in imminent danger.

He didn't know? Sure, it wasn't exactly strong stuff but... he seriously didn't know? The kid must not have been around alcohol very often not to realize, or maybe he'd been told otherwise. It didn't explain how the hell he jumped back with no ill effects, but it went some way of explaining how he got drunk on deck for no damn good reason.

Dante gave the bottle a look and a shake, then glanced back at the martial artist. "You really had no clue, eh? Still, better to keep this under lock and key and keep you from gettin' hammered again." It didn't seem like he really wanted to get drunk, but after that fun little recreation of a late Friday night it was probably better to keep the sauce away from him. He twirled the bottle in his hand and gave a casual underhanded pass to Gene, nodding at the godhand. "Think you can find the keg below deck and stash it there? I'd do it myself but I got seein' eye dog duty up top."

Once that had been taken care of, Dante vaulted back up on top of the cabin with a thump and took the mantle of spotter once again. It had been fairly uneventful, with nothing but a vast expanse of sea ahead of them. Oh it was breathtaking and everything, but after a few minutes or so of sea it lost its novelty. Beatrix had taken to nesting in his hat, peeking out of the fold every once in a while with a chirp. It was during one of those peeks that something finally popped out in the ocean. It was growing steadily in size on the horizon, which meant that they had to be approaching it at a fairly brisk pace.

It appeared to be a rock outcropping, or a small island. That wasn't all that exciting, not until you took into account what was on it. Maybe in life it was a beautiful galleon, but now it was a smashed wreck scattered across the rock. The front was still in tact if not tattered, resting on top of the island, but the other half had been torn apart and scattered in various parts around the area. There was probably more to the story, but for now it was too far off to tell the dirty details.

Leaning down over the cabin, he gave the wall and bat and said. "Might want to slow it down there, big guy. There's a wrecked ship comin' up, looks like the damn thing went through a wood chipper."

As the Boatleweiss drew closer to the island housing the wrecked ship, they might also notice a few thick coils of smoke rising up from behind some of the debris. While they wouldn't be able to see the actual source of said smog, the current angle of the sun would allow those near the front of the ship to spot a shadow just behind the splintered hull of the galleon - A shadow which didn't appear to be cast by part of the ship.

"What do you guys think? Should we check it out?" Raspberyl asked, not actually close enough to have seen the shadow just yet, though the smoke had not been lost on her.

"Alright lads, they're of flesh, AND one of those metal men can talk!" the guard and asked first said.

Almost immediately all the guards immediately eased up and the cannons were pointed away from the groups' boats, allowing passage.

Finally, something had appeared during their somewhat uneventful trip, the splintery remains of another ship it seemed. Although Samus was grateful that this was the only thing they've encountered so far, she couldn't ignore that it could have ended up this way by...well, there were all sorts of things that could have done this. In fact, this could have easily been caused by the weather or errors by it's former crew.

She certainly had a lot of theories about this wreck, and going to investigate couldn't hurt, could it? If they were lucky, they could even find signs of what happened and could use that to save themselves. It was a stretch, but they wouldn't know unless they checked it out.

"...I think we should go and see. Some of us should, anyway." She said, speaking up a bit so the others could hear her. "For all we know, we could get an idea of what could be hiding in this ocean..."

She did look out at the wreck again, this time focusing on the smoke that was rising up, thus raising further questions about what was over there...and she wasn't going to get those answers by just standing there and thinking to herself.

"whoever doesn't want to go could stay and guard the ship, but it may be in our best interest to see what might be there." She said again. "If we are going to stop there, then I'd like to volunteer to go..."

Jim sighed with relief when the guards stood down, an effect mostly lost under his helmet. "I wonder what got them so riled up about robots... Maybe we should ask; if there's something dangerous going on around here, then some heads up would be good" Jim said, glancing at the inside of the town.

"Ah." Yesterday, 47 would probably brush her off, but he came to trust his comrades since then and was willing to speak with them freely. Come to think of it, it was odd how nobody else noticed the barcode tattoo earlier...

"It's a memento of my creation as a clone. Each of the clones created in Ort-Meyer's lab had one of these codes tattooed on them, for identification purposes I suppose, and maybe to indicate ownership, like a branding on cattle. Though God knows why would Ort-Meyer need so many digits in these codes..."

In retrospect, she may be awkward, but from what little I have seen of her skills and attitude, she can be of the most competent and ruthless combatants in this group. She looks like she could kill a man and then just be very, very embarrassed about it.

While waiting for the answer, 47 turned to Rock Lee and said, "You're welcome. But try to avoid getting drunk. We cannot afford that."

47 also noticed the wrecked ship in the distance, but had nothing to say about it yet.

Aki blinked, and nodded in a vague kind of way. That was along the lines of what she'd been... not exactly hoping for, or even really properly expecting, but what she'd suspected it might be in an incredibly loose kind of way. There wasn't much else it could be, aside from maybe some kind of prison tattoo. The man didn't look like a criminal, and as far as she knew he didn't behave like one either. He was was far removed from her mental image of a convict as possible, and he moved more like a soldier than any criminal she could imagine. Refined, and minimalistic. Purposeful.

Maybe. She wasn't sure how much of that was what she'd actually noticed (she hadn't exactly spend a great deal of time looking at him) and how much she was just assuming. Given what he was, and where it turned out he came from, it was hard not to. A clone. Aki wasn't sure how she felt about that, but it was veering towards something horribly complicated. If he was a clone, that meant he'd been raised in the lab's facility. Like her. He had a barcode branded onto him, as an eternal reminder who he truly belonged to. Like her. She hadn't been born into a lab, and she knew quite definitely that she wasn't a clone, but this man still represented the closest thing she had to someone who knew what it was like.

That was monumental, horribly so. Beryl was someone she could talk to, and Cain was always willing to listen, but she'd only once met anyone who could know what it actually felt like to grow up the way she had. That had been for less than a day, so brief and so long ago she could only barely remember what the blue haired girl had even sounded like. This was someone new, someone right here and right now who could understand. That was all she wanted. She always had to explain, or mumble vaguely as they misunderstood. She was no good at explanations, and she knew it. She just wanted someone who could understand.

She was suddenly aware of the knot forming in her stomach, and the horrible feeling that she honestly wasn't sure if she dared talk to him about it.

"W-what did they, um, do?" 47 would notice a bizarre kind of hesitation whenever she finished a sentence, as if she was having to force herself to continue for fear of losing momentum. "In the lab, I mean. Um, where you were created."

Aki nodded again, in a manner no less melancholy than before. He'd escaped. Just like she had. That just made it better. Or maybe worse. She wasn't sure which at this point, only that she couldn't let herself stop here. Everything matched up, right down to what they'd been trying to make him into. He was an assassin. A weapon, branded with a serial number and a barcode to ensure they never forgot what they were and who they were meant to be used by. This was turning out to be more than she would have dared hope for. More than she could have dared hope for.

He was a man, with a past almost entirely like hers, and he displayed it almost proudly. He wore the code on the back of his head like a badge, and he'd told about what had happened as soon as she'd asked. He was like her, but he wasn't like her at all. He spoke clearly, moved confidently, and didn't seem unsure of anything. There was no way she let herself could stop now. Not after finding someone like this.

"I-" She faltered, and only just managed to catch herself. "I um, I need to show you something. I'd like t- we need to go somewhere else, please. Um, somewhere private."

Due to timezones being a bitch, I have to go liek right now. Sorry for the limbo, if you desperately need to have 47 move along we can always do this via flashback or something. This is also going somewhere a lot less dodgy than it sounds.

"Yes and no," Batou said in response to Minako's first question. "A cyber-brain is basically a special computer that a person's brain is then wired directly into. It fits over the brain in a special case, like a second skull almost. From there, you can keep things you learn as memories like you would without a cyber-brain, or you can digitize those memories and store them so you can share them with other people or just keep them without worrying about forgetting them. Your cyber-brain will automatically digitize your memories to a certain extent, but they take some more processing for other people to be able to view them. I've met a few people who stored every memory they ever had on hundreds of external devices because they were that nostalgic

."

"And storage space? A lot more than 8 gigs," he said with a smirk. "About five terabytes, I think. It's not as much as you might think, though. Memories are complicated, and digitizing them properly causes them to take up a lot of space. They're not just pictures and sound, they also 'capture' whatever emotions the person was feeling when they recorded the memory. I've seen individual memories take upwards of a gig each, even for ones just a minute or two long. A couple days of recording is all it would take to fill that up, and I need to keep space available for whatever case I might be working on." And then Dante said something about there being a shipwreck up ahead. "And that's a story for another time it seems," Batou said as he turned back to the controls and start to bring the ship around.

After bringing the Boatleweiss to a stop closer to the ship's wreckage*

, Batou radioed Alright, let's get some people to check out that wreckage. I'll be staying here, and a couple others should probably stay as well just in case. Stepping out onto the deck after dropping the ship's anchor, Batou got a better look at the smoke billowing from the wreck. Frowning slightly, he said "Maybe find out why it looks like that shipwreck is smoking.... And of course if there's anything salvageable, or even worth salvaging."

Kirby watched Lee thaw with a look of relief on his face, glad that the sobered up ninja was going to be fine, and was no longer trying to attack random people. That was always a plus. He smiled lightly at Dante's compliment about his eyebrows, reaching up to touch them for a second. They were indeed very bushy... Kirby wondered if everyone in Rock Lee's world had eyebrows like these.

Upon hearing that they were coming closer to a wrecked ship, Kirby ran over to the railing, and slowly boosted himself up to get a better look. The smog coming from the ship was quite worrisome, but as Samus spoke up, he found himself agreeing with her suggestion. He looked back to the others, and raised up one of his arms, volunteering to go on the ship. Anything that could give them a hint of what was hiding out in the ocean would definitely be useful, he figured. He just hoped whatever was out there wasn't in there waiting for them...

Once they stopped, Kirby walked over to Samus to get ready to go out and explore the wreckage. He looked back at everyone else, curious who else was coming.

As the ships neared the port, a tall man with a thick, bushy black beard, peg leg, hook hand, bandolier of various sharp and pointy objects, and typical pirate attire colored a deep shade of purple walked up to the decks, complete with large hat with a green feather in it.

As soon as the trio of ships reached the dock, the pirate spoke. "Welcome mateys, one and all!" he greeted. "Welcome to Mwezi Hilali, unofficial welcome center of the Great Extremus Ocean!"
