Bleach: The Shinigami Story

This is an RP run by myself and Gilphon. Basically, you have just died (As you will put in the initial post) and become a Soul Reaper in training. The story unfolds from there.

We are accepting 7 players for the main group, but if you come in late and want to join we might have... other roles for you.

The character sheet is as follows:

• Name: Self-Explanatory
• Age: How old were you when you died?
• Gender: Self-Explanatory
• Nationality: Self Explanatory. Should include a hometown. (Ex. German, British, American, etc.)
• Weapon: Should try to stick to swords as much as possible, but I’m not against weapons a little more… abstract in the end.. Since it’s established the size of your weapon equals your Spiritual Pressure, said weapon should compliment your Spiritual Pressure style. This has two subcategories:
• Subcategory 1: Pre-Shikai: This is generally a katana, but the amount of spiritual pressure you have could change its size.
• Subcategory 2: Post-Shikai: This is obviously the true form of your weapon. They will vary, and I’m not against you going with an abstract weapon.
• Shikai Name: What is the name of your Weapon?
• Bankai: Since it probably isn’t a good idea to force you all to make a Bankai from the get-go when you won’t be able to use it for a good bit of time, just give a general idea of what your Bankai will involve. (i.e. You could say it creates a tornado in the beginning but you might make the final version create several tornadoes at once.)
• Kidou: Is your character just a quick learner or is it a slow process to use kidou?
• Clothing: Should try your best to stick to the standard black robes outfit, but if there is something that defines your character in terms of clothing, feel free to implement it.
• Spiritual Pressure: How much spiritual pressure do you have? More specifically, does it tend to be released in small but very refined bursts, big and reckless bursts, or somewhere in-between?
• Background: A little bit of information on your character in the events leading to their death. You will initially post your death scene, so give us a bit of backstory up until that point.

Just to give you all an idea of how these things will work, Infinite Paragon's effectively on top of the heap here, this was his idea and largely his creation, but I'll be doing most of the active GM-ing and stuff.

Think of him as my Man Behind the Man, if you will.

• Name: Zakimori Ganryu
• Age: 16
• Gender: Male
• Nationality: Japanese, Kyoto
• Weapon: Pre-Shikai, its a very long katana. After using the Shikai, the blade becomes even longer and the area near the hilt gains a flame design.
• Shikai Name: Ryunensho Kaki, even activating Shikai allows him to play with fire and let loose bursts of fire with varying strength based on how emotional he is at the time.
• Bankai: Annihilate, Ryunensho Kaki, this Bankai lets him unleash torrents upon torrents of extremely destructive white flame. AKA, the hottest flame in existence. This is a very dangerous Bankai to use, and it packs a considerable force. He can also make a second sword out of the flames and wield it.
• Kidou: He has a lot of potential in Kidou, but learns slowly.
• Clothing: He has the standard Shinigami outfit, but sleeveless, and with a bit of red trim.
• Spiritual Pressure: He has difficulty releasing a lot of his Spiritual Pressure at once, but with enough training, one could see he has vast reserves. He can put his spiritual pressure into his sword to increase the force of his attacks.
• Background: He was a jock, the kind of kid everyone liked, he was a pervert and a little bit of a jerk with an ego inflation issue, but that was part of his charm. He mysteriously died in circumstances he does not remember, but now in the Soul Society, not much has changed. He is appropriately Hot-Blooded for his Playing with Fire abilities.

• Name: Koukaku "Kaku" Oumorikutsu
• Age: 23
• Gender: male
• Nationality: Japanese
• Weapon: Pre-Shikai, his weapon is a huge, bulky sword which looks like it would be heavy. He pretends it is such. Its light as a feather to him. Post-Shikai, the weapon becomes a really long Trident with long prongs. It also gains the ability to increase gravity on opponents, letting him restrict movements or even smash bones which were weakened by an earlier attack.
• Shikai Name: Akishi Morishi
• Bankai: Smash them, Akishi Morishi. This lets him call up a forest of spears which can form odd gravitation nets which can affect Kidou blasts and their trajectories.
• Kidou: He can use a good many Kidou of low rank, he has trouble handling higher level Kidou
• Clothing: The standard outfit for a Shinigami, but with samurai armor over it, and a really weird hat which looks like a plate on top of his head. He also has some really strange fake bat wings on his back.
• Spiritual Pressure: He seems to be really weak, but he is actually just suppressing his own power. He can increase his range and the weight behind his attacks with his pressure.
• Background: He was a parole officer in life, and a friend of Zakimori's family. He died around a year ago, and has become a member of the 3rd Division. He is really, really annoying, a Smug Snake among Smug Snakes (or is he?). He is overly ambitious, and plans to make Captain. He looks down on other people, but this is all an act to get an enemy really mad at him, so they'll make "an unfortunate mistake" and let him crush them. He is an expert at this. He is also a bit of a Gonk, and this really stung him in life. Considering his parents are both still very handsome even into middle age, he considers his jutting jaw, huge forehead and somewhat demonic left eye with black sclera (actually caused by a strange disorder) a curse on him made just to torment him and make him unlikely to make it far.

Nick, i will kindly ask you choose one of the two for the main party, but keep the other character sheet so you could use that for our other roles but slightly reformatted if you wanted to. Otherwise, accepted. I would suggest Zakimori for the main group.

EDIT: If you use the second character for another role we have, i'll PM you what you'd need to change up.

Yeah, I'd like to use Zakimori for the main party, and I'd like to know what I could change up for his other role.

I concurr, unless we end up having trouble filling all the main party spots, it's probably best if we limit it to one character per player.

Don't really have preference for which character you end up using in the main party, though, both seem acceptable to me.

• Name: Colin Gray
• Age: 22
• Gender: Male
• Nationality: Welsh
• Weapon:
• Pre-shikai: A sakabato (Reverse edged katana) that is 76 cm long
• Post-shikai: A biwa (a pear shaped fretted lute) made of metal
• Shikai name: Kamisen (God-Strings)
• Bankai: Creates a large amount of strings in an area (just throwing that out there, I have no idea what they will do yet. I feel that it needs to have something to do with music and sound.)
• Kidou: Learns at an average rate.
• Clothing: Wears the traditional robes but wears waraji instead of the normal footwear.
• Spiritual Pressure: Has some potential as a shinigami but can only release small amounts of spiritual pressure in most situations.
• Backround: Had a relatively normal childhood. He had a promising schooling where he excelled in music. He learned French and Japanese before graduating
• After graduating high school began to work at a bar where he was introduced to drugs such as LSD, marijuana, and heroin. He began to pursue a music career. After several pub gigs he began to actively use drugs and stopped saving for college. The drugs began to take their toll and he became a recluse, isolating himself from society. He stopped writing music and descended into the hell of drugs before overdosing in on pills when he ran out of money for heroin.
• He found himself in a poor district of the Soul Society where he tried to live a peaceful afterlife in the hope that he could reconcile his mistake. Due to his drug use he has been left thin and sick looking.

• Name: Eric Beckman

• Age:17

• Gender: male

• Nationality: American, Born in Atla Texas.

• Weapon:

• Subcategory 1: Pre-Shikai: Long Katana.

• Subcategory 2: Post-Shikai: it is a katana that, at the end, comes to a curve that gives it a hook like look. It has the power to extend and wrap around enemies, like a lasso, except it can still cut them up.

• Shikai Name: Zenkai

• Bankai: The ability to collect the damage that the wielder obtains, turning into power that lasts until the fight is finished, or the wielder losses contact with the weapon.

• Kidou: Slow learner.

• Clothing: Standard Black robe outfit, except for his stereotyped cowboy hat. He wears it only to let him remediable his origins from Texas.

• Spiritual Pressure: Big and Reckless.

• Background: Eric was a loud mouth that was always getting him in trouble. He was an average sized teen, who would get riled up about almost anything. But he had a soft side. One day, a purse snatcher crossed his path, and he thought he could take him on. The man stabbed him in the chest, but that did not kill Eric. Instead of calling anyone, people just passed him by as he crawled down the street trying to get to a hospital. He got halfway when his body quit on him and he bled out on the street.

: Can you please make the Bankai more specific? Relfecting damage can be easily taken to mean "I cannot be hurt," although i'm sure you didn't intend it to be that way. Or if you can, come up with a different Bankai alltogether.

Is the power put into a single blow or something similar like increased power until end of battle?

Would it be okay it his shikai had a sonic attack?

Well his weapon is a lute, can't really expect you to hit people on the head with it.

Bitterman, what powers would your shikai have, if any?

I ask because I'm trying to check for overpowered stuff, Y'see.

Duckmanfair's character looks perfectly alright to me, and of course it's acceptable for a lute to have sound-based attacks.

Quick question. Could I play as a Vizard?

As a main party member, probably not.

Or at least, not initially. You might get the option to become one later on.

Have you considered making the Post-Shikai form something like a lasso? Or have the Bankai involve something like that? Just to fit the Cowboy Stereotype even more?

Hmmm... Take it it's too much to ask if we can be a Quincy, right?

That aside, this seems kinda interesting, even if I kinda fell off Bleach when it became obvious Uryu and Hanataro weren't going to get much more of a role. >.> I'll se if I can come up with something for this, ahah.
