My mind wanders to Patriot Games in an instant.
Yes, I am the guy who refused to call Magikarp Power "not worth the effort"The car was infused with Kryptonite so that it kills him instantly.

Pre-planned fakeout, then.
Yes, I am the guy who refused to call Magikarp Power "not worth the effort"Probably shouldn't look too deeply into that, since it looks like one of those anthology episodes, like the Stephen King one.
A character has died gruesomely doing Cleveland's bathtub gag and cast members have switched between being killed in gunfire or just showing Daffy Duck like irritance to it. I don't think they're aiming for any consistency with it.
I'd say the difference there is, though, that those aren't treated with any degree of seriousness and this was.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Pretty much the Family Guy equivalent of that time Kenny died for realz.
The 'disagreement' Brian had with Stewie over some borrowed money?
The time when Quagmire came over and beat the crap out of him for sleeping with Quagmire's sister?
Brian plunging headfirst into the General Lee?
Evil Stewie cutting off his tail, shoving it down his throat, beating him up, and leaving him to suffocate?
I'm quite satisfied with Brian Killed Off for Real. Maybe it won't last, but his death scene was a bit anti-climactic. You know they're not done with him yet, just from the way that death scene played out. If they make a few knocks at his dead status, like pointing out that Brian's alive in Grimm Job, or poking fun at the fact that he's in heaven the same way they poke fun at Cleveland being in Stoolbend, I'll be happy. I also want to see Brian's reaction to Vinny being his replacement.
Brian's death was foreshadowed several times. Out of the entire family, how many have actually had serious episodes concerning death? Brian had at least three - one where he ran over a dog and realized how insignificant he was considered to be as a house pet, another where he almost died and began to question his own existence, another where he confided his suicidal urges to Stewie. Brian's also had his share of defining episodes, like his stint in college, and his attempt to "find himself", and being the only character to cut Meg some slack, and of course the "Road To" episodes. Plus the one Road To episode where Brian and Stewie actually died. Then of course there was the movie where he actually died and that caused a fundamental change in Stewie.
The last few episodes I paid attention were the Star Wars parodies, the Evil Stewie episode, the episode where Meg retaliated against her family, and the Clue spoof episode. It's good to see that they still pop out these semi-dramatic episodes once in awhile.
The plot twist was enough to make me give "Life of Brian" a watch. Although, sadly, it was all because I happened to be on Youtube and saw "The Death Of Brian Griffin" in my YT feed.

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).So who wants to make bets on when he's resurrected? New Year's? The season finale? Start of spring?
Yes, I am the guy who refused to call Magikarp Power "not worth the effort"Anyone else notice that the car that hit Brian looked exactly like Brian's car?
The mystery of who was driving the car, and about the car looking exactly like Brian's, makes me believe this story isn't wrapped yet.
Perhaps "Brian the Closer" deals with the Griffins getting "closure" by having the driver arrested... although, the joke will probably be that the only crime committed was the murder of a house pet... and the only witness was a one-year old.
Quagmire was awfully focused on his cellphone during the funeral...
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Well, I was willing to be money that the season finale would be all about Brian's return, but then I read that Tony Sirco has signed on for six episodes. Of course, he does have the option to sign on for more, but all of the signs point to Brian returning, possibly even earlier than fans have predicted.
If you read between the lines in the E! interview, there are hints that Brian will be back. Here are a couple of excerpts that stood out to me (bolding mine):
"Well, this was an idea that got pitched in the writers room and it sort of caught fire, and we thought it could be a fun way to shake things up. As soon as this idea came up, we started talking about what the next couple episodes could be and we got very excited about the way this change will affect the family dynamics and the characters."
"[our] fans are smart enough and have been loyal to our show for long enough, to know that they can trust us. We always make choices that always work to the greatest benefit of the series."
To me, this kind of gives away that Brian will be back, but YMMV.
EDIT: A number of people think that Vinny was the one who killed Brian.

Brian's true Replacement Goldfish will be an ex-Olympic skier from American Dad.
"Show us the Galaxy Warp."You know who I think really killed Brian? Stupid fans complaining about him being an Author Avatar. That might not be far off but he was still far from being a Canon Sue. I thought he was a great character earlier on. The producers responded by dumping a pile of flaws on him making him a lot less likeable and ended up killing him off complete with the stupid squirrel's insult(evidence this was due to his scrappy status).
Still hoping Brian comes back and from what I read it seems likely. Even with his change in character, I'll still miss him.
Help?.. please...Ok, some WMG about who ran over Brian:
- Brian from another timeline
- Stewie from another timeline
- Bertram from another timline
- Quagmire
- Quagmire's sister
- The nudist family that hasn't been seen since the revival.
- Carter
- Kirk Cameron
- A preacher at the church the Griffins go to
- Ernie the Chicken
- One of Brian's exes
- Dylan, Brian's son
- James Woods
- Holden Caulfield (The Phony Guy)
- Connie D'amico
- A Re-Built Miley Cyrus

It wasn't a member of his anti-fan club.
"Show us the Galaxy Warp."I'm pretty similar in opinion there, though I wouldn't call them stupid. I will say some of their complaints are valid here and there. That and I can understand why he bothered some even if he didn't me.
Regardless, definitely sad that they killed him, though I can't see this lasting and I hope it doesn't. Still, bold move on their part and I'll give them props for it.
Improving as an author, one video at a time.It was actually 3 episodes strung together by bookended original animation for a DVD. It's not really a "movie". In fact, the characters lampshade that on the DVD.
Which episodes comprise it?
